Dance of the Holy man is epic Vampire killer is legendary and nostalgic and Bloody Tears is iconic but Cross your heart is for no apparent reason my favorite Simon's theme. Maybe because is a good theme.
Why the composer/s decided to drop such a killer song to a side game that doesn't even bear the name of the franchise, is difficult af and probably knew it wouldn't be that successful is beyond me. Composing for the sake of it, for sure, and people fortunately made sure that such an incredible tune wouldn't get forgotten.
Since the difficulty depends of the revisions, Version M (US) is the hardest one, enemies will deal tons of damage to Simon. In the both Japan versions N and P, Simon loses half of his current life and respawns on the last checkpoint if he falls into a bottomless pit, instead of getting an instant game over. The Version K (US) has balanced difficulty.
have you seen Something About Castlevania by TerminalMontage? There's some castlevania skeleton hijinx there, and iirc the skeletons pop up in a couple other places
@@detectivesky6123 oh yeah, I've seen that video. It was funny how skeletons attack by saying "AYE!" and throw bones lol. That sums up skeletons in Castlevania, funny and annoying at the same time
no, you came here to get 10,000 game overs on the first stage and then shut off the game (or, waste all your money trying to get past the goddamn wall part, if you're playing on an arcade board)
Wait, isn't this on portrait of ruin as well?? So it originated from this game, I knew julius theme from aria was from this game but didn't knew about this one, just wow!
Perfect song to walk like you're constipated
Or shuffle like those skeletons in the level

Until today I didn't knew it was an old theme, my first time listening to it was in Portrait of Ruin.
Ever since I first heard this song in the arcade 30 years ago it just engraved in my head timeless classic
i feel in this game the same "thrash-b horror movie" vibes i see in Altered Beast from Sega Genesis
Uff y la versión de Castlevania portrait of ruin
This music deserved more to be called the "cemetery song"...i still remember the great animation when the zombies came out of the earth.

Only the US version of the game is hardcore. The Japanese one is actually easier.
That, and the game has the Japanese Castlevania title in Japan, so the international localization got shafted

@BeanMan157 What's wrong with B-Rated horror movies and Altered Beast? 😆
Both games were made around the time Conan was popular .

One of the hardest arcade games I ever played. Still love the killer soundtrack for it.
Every time I hear this, my brain automatically attach the memory of the dancing Skeleton in this stage.
I miss Castlevania Skeletons...
