This one's a work of art there pal. This ones the primary reason I love watching you do your job. Bring those around you with you, pass on your wisdom, sir. Thanx.
I love how you always teach and give reasons why when you talk to your employees. Most bosses expect everyone to already know but every experience is different. Good Work Ron. God Bless.
I built and repaired dump trailers for over 25 years. Nice to see a really good recovery. I've dealt with more than a few units that the recovery people did more damage than the roll over. And you were lucky the hydraulic cylinder retracted, often they were damaged and it wouldn't collapse. But REALLY nice work.
I always love Midwest videos because they are so intriguing and also very informative I love the way Ron choose to explain every details of the work and at times takes the viewers on the journal as well good job Ron
I applaud your teaching the next generation the correct and safest way to do the job and not get in a hurry....... and for Mike being your right hand man at this time....
I'm thinking about moving to America, just to learn from Ron. My off-road recoveries have improved (and probably a lot, lot safer) thanks to Ron and Casey LaDelle. Now the only complaints I get, when doing my winching, is that I over-engineer it. My response? "It never hurts to think of Safety"
You are an amazing leader/mentor. You gave instructions with the reason you were doing something so they could learn. I felt like I learned a lot and I know nothing about tow trucks! God Bless
I love it how Ron always uses someone's name, rather than just being generic. Was it Talon who once left his hard hat in the truck a in the distant past and Ron gently reminded him to fetch it?
Here's a little lineman's trick Ron. Fold the tape over on itself when your done with it. That goes for the roll and whatever your taping. It just leaves you a tiny tab so you can always remove the tape from the roll and the thing you taped. We have to do that on powerlines because of our rubber gloves and leather covers. I promise if you get in the habit of doing it. You'll do it every time without thinking.
Yep. I'm aware of that, but always seem to forget to implement it...LOL. Just need to make a habit of it. Repetion, repetition, repetition.... Thanks and God bless.
Not just a linesman thing where I am. Don't know too many linesman but know alot of people who do that in that sort of situation. Obviously things are different there.
I Constantly Watch Tow companies doing truck recoveries. There is 1 I will no longer watch because the owner thinks he is the best period. Maybe in his area not allaround.I have been around Tow Trucks since I was 6 yrs old and I know that you are only as good as the crew working with you. I will stick with Ron Pratt because I never see an ego, Just appreciation to the crew that is doing the work
An almost perfect "landing" on the trailer. I'll give it a 9.95 for landing on the gravel. But 10++ rating for another safe and great job completed by Ron and his crew. Enjoy watching your videos from the Nashville, TN area. Keep the videos coming!!
Awesome, awesome job guys!!! Ron, I think you and Mike make a great team feeding off each others ideas. As for Ethan, it blows me away his knowledge and confidence in his own ability, has grown immeasurably! Hope its OK to say, he reminds me of your dad in appearance and mannerisms. May God Bless and continue to guide you!
"Gavin, where's your hard hat?" Comes back with a pink one. LOL, I love your crew. They are all wonderful people with great humor, great personalities personalities and an eagerness to learn and work and do it RIGHT.
It would be cool to have a part 2 to this video, showing how ya'll got the rig out of that spot. Another great video Ron, you're going to have one of the safest and most knowledgeable crews out there. You definitely have no worries about the next generation of the company.
You have a good team there, Ron. They'll get experience as they go. Whatever happened to Raymond, he was a really hard worker and always there on the big and heavy jobs. God bless you and all the guys at Mid West Truck. Stay safe guys!
Ron you are a very patient person teaching your guys how to do the job right I used to have a boss that would scream and yell and I would never learn so I quit and moved on
WOW! What a perfect training environment, wide open area, no powerlines over head, no traffic zooming past you, and no pressure of the state troopers or police asking when can we open the lanes. You really couldn't ask for a better location.
Alway a pleasure watching you and the boys work with the knowledge and professionalism that many others can take examples from. Thanks for sharing and letting me tag along :)
Interesting to watch. A somewhat complicated, team recovery - therefore, an educational video! Mike is always the first one to get involved and dirty, I like his style.
This video shows several key points within your company. 1, The importance of safety. At one point you commented about 'that's why you have a hard hat'. You ask for the team to be careful and watch their footing on the loose rock. 1b, You requested job critical communication only. It's important to have clear communication when working a job as such. Idle chit-chat can prohibit critical information from being relayed on comm-sets like what you are using. 2, You are showing professionalism in your work. Strapping the box, trying not to crush it even though you think it's done for. That's not always the case once it's uprighted. Taping the chain. Orchestrating the whole team at the same time to perform multiple tasks. 3, Teamwork. You have multiple people working together doing different tasks at the same time. They are fairly well trained enough to work with you, knowing what's needing to be done. They know the drill, you're just being the conductor the Orchestra. 4, You still have humor. I've seen you have a good laugh even in serious situations. It helps relieve tension among your crew, first responders, even customers. I've watched you tell people that it happens, it's no big deal... then share jokes about it. Humor really does help the overall moral. Lastly... having such a huge crew on site for these situations isn't necessarily needed. But it helps get the job done quicker so you can get on to the next. It takes the workload off of the crew. And it also helps with training. There will be calls that you can't respond to, whereas Ethan can. He can use the crew to help him, as they already have the knowledge of what to do. It's better that they are on-site working with you. Learning from you. That way you know that you can trust them on those calls that you can't make. Between Ethan and Mike, you certainly have great leadership in the making. You are a wonderful person Ron. God bless. Happy Christmas and Merry New Year 💜
Good afternoon from the U.K. neer Gatwick airport very informative thank you all for this from an old disabled pensioner I love watching you all God bless

I have watched many rollover as well as other calamities. Midwest, LA, Great Britain and German. L.A., Great Britain and Germany uses fine heavy duty equipment and many types of recovery trucks and have many trucks to do the job that Ron does with 1 or 2 trucks. With roll overs they don't often slow the truck and trailer down but let it slam it's wheel into the ground which hurts to watch. Ron really showed how it is done in this fine video, probably the finest recovery of it's kind I have ever seen. With Ron you also have a play by play explanation which it makes his video much more pleasant and instructional. By rights, being an old retired guy I expect that I will never encounter need of any knowledge I can glean from the movies. I have actually learned quite few things that makes other jobs easier and safer. Thank You Ron, you are the best.
*Ron & Crew, Now that was IMPRESSIVE.... all working together as a team... listening and learning... all comes from a great teacher, teaching your lad and the others... even Mike taking on board stuff and everyone talking it over thru out each step of the job. Glad the driver is ok.. as he sat back, keeping out of your way and just watching how it was done to get his rig back up its rubbers. AWESOME job done. Merry xmas to the whole team.*

Job well done. Very good learning experience for the younger set. Several lines and chain ups to get the job completed. I like that the guys ask why and you explain why. As employees they don't work for you rather they work with you! A company that prays together, stays together! It shows Ron.

I just love those RUclips Videos reminds me when my Coworker turn our Dump truck on its side when we were unloading fresh dirt we had to go & get our Case 380 Dozer & turn it back up on all four wheels believe it or not we where able to drive it out of the location and back to the yard you couldn't even tell that we turned it over.
