"salsa is a language and as a language it can be spoken in many accents, with many slang terms, and as strongly or softly as one may like." - I accept this statement as true. Great analogy. :-)
i can't wait to see my girlfriend's face when i show her that i've learned salsa for her : ) once again, thank you very much for sharing knowledge about dancing and making those tutorials easy to understand : )
First time I've ever seen a Salsa Dancing lesson in which the music actually sounds like something you'd hear in the radio, or in a disco. And very nicely done to boot!
Anthony...of the the lessons and teachers I've had lessons with I still go back to you for your ease and fun way of making difficult moves look so easy. Keep up the good work
Great videos, Anthony, Julie, Melanie! This is exactly what I was looking for - straight up quick instruction so I can show it to my dance partners as we learn it together. 100x better for me than in person dance classes I have attended. Thank you so much for your dedication to making so many videos and your generosity in sharing them! Addicted2Salsa is my go to Salsa Dance School.
wow!!! i follow you guys in every step. i live in riverside ca, y aqui solo lesgusta lo mexican, one day i'll go to san diego and meet you guys, son mis hidolos!!! y que viva la salsa!!!
The FUNNY STUFF IN THE SUBTITLES IS AMAZING!!! I love your videos for the funny subtitles. And you teach really well. I am currently learning salsa in a small city in India under a very crappy instructor who only screams and says demotivating stuff. I wish I had an instructor like you Anthony.
(Ver wikipedia)
this is a good video, and shows the hands well for guys. :) also love the reminders that double spins should only be done to women who are used to them ** :p
Nice vid and tutorial! Thanks for sharing your moves and it is so nice to watch. Now i have to practise and again and again! Hey, where is Melanie? ;-)
Hey Anthony, Love the vids. I good portion of what I know is from your vids. I believe that I may have missed some episodes though. Are all episodes on the "addicted" site? further, ever thought of putting a DVD series together for sale?
@TahliaLikesSmiles Yes that is the only thing that is lacking from the new L.A style type of dancing, spice, chemistry, less memorized spins and more joy, more feeling.
Hey there, thank you for these lessons. You guys are great. i have started since few months "Cross Body Salsa". Is this the same as NY Style? Just to be sure so that I can use your styles in my class. Thanks
1. Just like any other term and genre, Salsa has evolved. 2. Tito Puente is Puerto Rican, the music being played is NY Mambo salsa, not Cuban salsa. 3. If you listen closely, the Conga slap (2 and 6) are what mark the clave and we clearly hit those beats in the music. 4. Most importantly, I never trust anyone who can't spell 'Musician' correctly. ;-)
Alguna idea de donde es ON1 or ON2 porque I heard it, but I didn't really pay attention, So I was wondering if by chance you happen to know where it comes from. Really good video Teacher. very well explicado, todo con detalle. Muchas gracias
This is great. I really appreciate all your videos. You have a lovely partner as well. Are you ever in St. Louis, MO? There some small salsa places there.
Yeah, only two negative comments out of 75 so far. Those two are probably jealous -----about the hot girl/ or about the instructor's knowledge. This is a great instruction video. Thanks to apersaud.
so I was hoping to learn HOW to do the multiple spins. for followers, what's the gospel and how does the weight shifting work? for leads, how do you signal you'll be doing multiple spins and how do you help support you painter?
this is a santo rico spin prep that thomas guerrero kinda invented(im not sure if he inveted it). i would suggest you look into their technique and that may mean you have to pay to access their videos. best advice is to look for a good school that teaches that spinning method or make friends at a salsa club that knows the spinning method and have em teach it to you.
Anyone that loves Salsa is too busy trying to share it with everybody to spend time hating on others for doing so. My advice to anyone trying to actually learn is to ignore the negative comments as they will only confuse you. Even better do this, ask these negative personas why they aren't teaching or where their videos are posted??? Hahahaha!!!
ESCRIBO DESDE COLOMBIA. LA VERDAD POR AQUI NO SE APLICA MUCHA TEORIA A LA HORA DE BAILAR. AQUI SE VIVE EL RITMO PORQUE DESAFORTUNADAMENTE ESTE ES UN PAIS VIOLENTO Y SE VIVE FRENETICAMENTE POR QUE NO SE SABE SI AL SIGUIENTE DIA SE VA ESTAR VIVO O NO. EN TODO CASO LO FELICITO POR DIVULGAR LA MUSICA LATINA POR ALLA EN EL NORTE. SUERTE Y PULSO.
yo really he is teaching it thus the stiffness. You need to show it in slower mode to understand. Stop busting the guys balls. Great job man. Your teaching me the basics. Good stuff.
the intro on 2? :-O Not on 2 thats for sure ;) it was a proxy of 2, you got in and out from the tumbao a lot of times, after the spins most of the times you stepped on 2,5 ; 6,5. And the 2 was dance in Puerto Rico style, not NY style :P Other than that i liked it =) I love salsa ^^
I really like the spins but what's up with the stiff clumsy foot work? Is like he is half trying to emphasize the spins? Kool coreography but the robot feeling turns me off.
"Almost all people are misinformed"..."any well educated person on this subject knows I'm right". So if they say you're right, does that mean they are misinformed??
can everyone really learn to spin? Im thinking of taking adult ballet lessons just to learn spinning - double turns................... really prevents me from advancing in my dancing.
I agree;combinations is nice, but not flavor and not feelings, and the worst, not latin movements...bad guys, very bad, i am sorry but i need to say it, cause latins have movements in the whole body, crossbody is good style, but you are doing without energy, not representing what you are dancing(salsa)..

I love the way he lady spins!!! I wish I could do that. Do you have any videos on how the feet should move to do those kinds of spins?

this is a good video, and shows the hands well for guys. :) also love the reminders that double spins should only be done to women who are used to them ** :p
The intro is danced on2. The instruction is provided on1. Please see our previous videos for more information.
Love the slow play by play!!!! Thank you ;)
Nice vid and tutorial! Thanks for sharing your moves and it is so nice to watch. Now i have to practise and again and again! Hey, where is Melanie? ;-)

Great! As always!
Hey there, thank you for these lessons. You guys are great. i have started since few months "Cross Body Salsa". Is this the same as NY Style?
Just to be sure so that I can use your styles in my class. Thanks
No, San Diego, CA. But there are great instructors in NY!
1. Just like any other term and genre, Salsa has evolved.
2. Tito Puente is Puerto Rican, the music being played is NY Mambo salsa, not Cuban salsa.
3. If you listen closely, the Conga slap (2 and 6) are what mark the clave and we clearly hit those beats in the music.

jpython84 I dont know the if the name of the song is Si yo tuviera un amor but the singer is Piro Montilla with Roberto Rohena.
I liked that 'gravity, gravity' thing! :-D

what is the name of the song?great video by the way
nice, you make it look so easy. i wish i had a partner right now lol, good video
THIS VIDEO IS GREAT! THANK YOU =0)
This is not cuban salsa or casino rueda. This is NY/PR mambo, also known as Salsa on2.
omg...awesome spins..
Super like! I loved your little jokes. Reminded me of Monty python intro hahaha
I love salsa
Yeah, only two negative comments out of 75 so far. Those two are probably jealous -----about the hot girl/ or about the instructor's knowledge. This is a great instruction video. Thanks to apersaud.
You guys are haters, this is a great video. Thank you for sharing :-)
wonderfull
good stuff you have here 💪
I do a lot of *SPINS TUTORIALS* myself. Great to meet 👊
I couldn't even pay attention, cause the subtitles were too funny!
Better try to watch it again without laughing. Lmao xD
@goido1951 I agree, I don't feel as though they're really feeling the dancing... like they're not connected enough to it... like there's no chemisty.
what is the name of the song playing in the backround?
NICE
can someone tell me the name of this song please?
Thank you
i have trouble spinning more than once when the guy turns me any suggestions to help maintain my balance and not be dizzy

Damn! She makes me want to learn.. Bad!
so I was hoping to learn HOW to do the multiple spins. for followers, what's the gospel and how does the weight shifting work? for leads, how do you signal you'll be doing multiple spins and how do you help support you painter?

yo really he is teaching it thus the stiffness. You need to show it in slower mode to understand. Stop busting the guys balls. Great job man. Your teaching me the basics. Good stuff.
What kind of disclaimer??
so to order a pizza as most difficult way as possible is to teach this move to a girl, ask for her number and order a pizza. Mind blown.
do more videos with her!

why don't you not worry about the video and make your own if you are so great.
@goido1951 Couldn't have put it better myself. :)

Me parece que estan demasiado duros
start at his first lesson.
because you don't dance on 4 nor 8, although both are present in the music
el tumbao es otra cosa XD
y el son es otra cosa XD
I really like the spins but what's up with the stiff clumsy foot work? Is like he is half trying to emphasize the spins? Kool coreography but the robot feeling turns me off.
it looks easy but...
The comments in the video are hilarious
I danced it without cunsulting my doctor and got clave in the knee

you have rto move more and so much t5he hips and shoulders, como to Mexico and learn how to dance Salsa!
LOL I can't concentrate on the steps with the subtitles..
"Almost all people are misinformed"..."any well educated person on this subject knows I'm right". So if they say you're right, does that mean they are misinformed??
Y tus caderas amigo? o_O
