It had a tip; that’s (purposefully) an armor-piercing arrow-the 4 ‘sides’ of the “cup” on the end are honed super sharp and there’s a point in the middle that sticks out to help pierce, and the twisting motion of the sharpened “cup” help to open a giant hole that the arrow shaft then easily finishes going through. Oddly enough, I found this out from playing “Horizon Zero Dawn” and “Horizon Forbidden West”; those games both have this exact type of arrow (although the picture depicting them looks kind of funny) and it shows (an exaggerated version of) that same sharpened “cup” as the arrow you thought ‘had no tip’ 😅 I am an archer as well, but I’ve no need for armor-piercing arrows yet!
Ugh I can see where Fallout got their ideas for that giant disgusting radiated salamander! JEEZ that one from Japan looks as though it could swallow a baby whole!!! 😳😳😳 And that 4-stroke engine at the end sounds like it’s got some valve-slap

Partly due to the spin it had... Thing is modern day armor is not designed to stop arrows, its only designed to stop/slow the impact of bullets.
