    something to remember is that it is not rodrigo that provokes ezio in brotherhood, it was cesare. wether it be to rebuild their shatterd influence or due to a genuine respect of his opponent (perhaps both), rodrigo did not do any open moves against the assasins post the battle at the vatikan. instead it was cesare whom not only royally provoked ezio but also gave him every reason to come to rome, the beating heart of their operations, with both his presence, openly using his own forces rather than third party puppets and the capture of katarina. cesare invited a cancer into their heart and it brought death and ruin to the italian rite. ezio would likely have gone to rome eventually but we can only speculate what rodrigo would have done with the time he likely would have had and with his hindsight and not bereft of his influence and role as the primary puppeter as he was in brotherhood due to cesares ambition.

    • @EpicGamer-fl7fn
      @EpicGamer-fl7fn 8 месяцев назад +1

      i think its more because he lost all the meaning in his life by now. he spent his entire life plotting and scheming just to open the vault in the vatican. and all of that, ALL OF THAT, was taken away from him in the very last second just before the vault opened, and by none other than a loose threat that was just in the right place to not get killed with his family, Ezio Auditore.
      Its obvious imo that he's been pretty depressed and just stopped caring after that happened. He barely appeared in ACB at all, and in his second cutscene he was killed by Cesare. He's clearly not happy about Cesare making really idiotic moves that put his entire life-long templar legacy further in danger.
      I think if he'd still care, he would actually somewhat "team up" with Ezio to kill his son, if he'd survive Cesare's wrath after finding out he got poisoned.

    Rodrigo Borgia he was the one person Ezio needed to kill. Like, of all of his targets, if he only could choose one, it had to have been Rodrigo. He was a threat to so many others besides Ezio's family. Like, that much became blatantly obvious throughout the story. Ezio learns of the greater duties of Assassins and how his hunt has been bettering the world and protecting innocents by killing these templars.
    But for some reason, Even at the end of the story, Ezio still thinks this is all about him and his family and spares Rodrigo for his own selfish reasons. It's not like he even coerced him into swearing to leave the templars or something like that. Instead, "Nah. Me me me. Revenge bad, family gone. Me me me. Have a good day, bye"
    The Templars still had their Grand master, who has now occupied a position that makes him more blatantly powerful than kings. This guy was probably the biggest danger to literally every human being. But hey, who cares that Ezio spared someone so dangerous? Because personal epiphanies, that have no effect on literally any other person on the planet, are far more important.

      Though that was because of Cesare not Rodrigo. Rodrigo actually intended to leave Ezio alone after being defeated but his idiotic son thought otherwise. Ezio actually did a good thing by sparing Rodrigo cause the guy actually chews the shit out of Cesare for being an absolute moron in antagonising Ezio and actually lets the Assassins gain power to usurp the Templar influence.

      @dr.feelgoodmalusphillips2475 10 месяцев назад

      @craigarkensaw Sadly, that wouldn't have stopped him. As we saw in his first defeat, he eventually gained power and influence to escape from prison until finally being bested by Ezio. Also, the restoration of Rome wouldn't have been possible as well as it was if the events hadn't played out the way they did. Sometimes, sparing a life can lead to good things. Ezio still did the right thing by sparing Rodrigo's life in the grander scheme of things.
