It's really important to work outside or under a fume hood when working with heated HCL. Wear eye protection and gloves and don't breath any of the fumes. The contributor failed to mention what metal they used so we are to assume it was near 100% tin. It looked a lot like solder so if that's the case don't use any solder with a core flux material. Use only solid solder (e.g. 97/3). Didn't need to go through all the weighing process when the weight was shown on the screen.

Tin chloride is used to identify whether gold and platinum are present in a sample dissolved in aqua regia.
