Millie is awesome! Back in the 60's, girls in my Long Island NY high school were required to take a course called Home Ec. We were taught how to bake this Pineapple Upside Down Cake and we loved it so much, most of us went home and made it for our families. It brings back nice memories of when I ate sugar and grains lol!
Great to meet Millie! I love her attitude, her style, and this recipe looks easy & delicious. I am now planning on making it tonight. Thanks Millie! Can't wait to see you again!
I baked this cake yesterday, following this video and the recipe precisely, and served it at a dinner party. It was delicious and everyone loved it! But did you notice how the center of the cake had risen? That hump caused my cake to split apart when I flipped it onto the plate, so it didn't look very pretty. I wish Millie had pointed out in the video that the cake might need to be trimmed. Again, it was delicious!
I made this today for my boyfriends birthday. I used 50% einkorn flour and 50% soft wheat, both freshly milled. Added half pineapple juice and half milk to your milk portion. Also did the Carmel like you showed. He said, “it’s the best I’ve ever had.” I had to comment. This is a great and easy recipe.
I made this for my husband tonight! He was absolutely amazed! This recipe is a winner. The cake is moist and the taste is amazing. I used a spring pan, the cake was a beauty . Thanks for sharing ❤
Yay! Just what I needed for this weekend. I’ve all the ingredients on hand, so it’ll be my Saturday afternoon project. Thanks for the reminder to blot the pineapple 🍍 It makes a huge difference.
Thank you very much because there are extra ingredients from this video that are very interesting to use! One question, I'm noticing in videos that no pineapple juice is used? Regarding the juice itself?
This is a delight. Especially after the joyless version that Epicurious posted earlier this week. Also I can tell you, you can make rings from a fresh pineapple if you try hard enough. :-)
I enjoyed watching this video of one of my old time favorites with Millie's twist. But as a female chef, the first thing a pro does is wrap or tie up her hair. She is pretty with it down but sorry, not for cooking.
Millie is my favorite! She always makes cooking look like fun times 😀
I love Millie! And this recipe sounds perfect.
Hello 👋, how are you doing today; how’s everything going over there 👉 I hope it was a lovely day for you Sarah?

This is my first video seeing Millie! Totally charming watching her cook.
....💃🏾When the chefs dance after tasting, you know it's damn good!!!😂
My favorite cake being made by one of my favorite chefs! Yay!

How'd your cake come out?
Love that they used Dole! Thanks for giving a nod to Dole who popularized this cake!
We used to have this when camping - it’s easy to make in a skillet over a campfire.
Looks very good and the chef made the recipe better.
We need more Chef Millie!
lovely video, thanks
Woooph! And just like that, I’m back in the 70’s, and my mama pulled that bad boy outta the oven. Mmm, mmm!
When I see the Queen that is Millie Peartree, I click.
Mhmm.. yummy! Sounds amazing 🤩
I made this cake in school. It became my Mum's favourite cake 😁
Thank you very much because there are extra ingredients from this video that are very interesting to use!
One question,
I'm noticing in videos that no pineapple juice is used?
Regarding the juice itself?
❤❤❤😂 I loved this video, it was informative and amusing, I was learning and laughing 😂❤
Upside down pineapple cake! My number one CAKE...
This is a delight. Especially after the joyless version that Epicurious posted earlier this week. Also I can tell you, you can make rings from a fresh pineapple if you try hard enough. :-)
she is such a dream
Yay!!!!👍🏽👍🏽
Looks good. I love pineapple cake but it has to be real cherries not the bright red ones. Love this channel
This is one of the few exceptions where I use maraschino cherries, just like mum used to make way back when. This was one of mum’s favorites to make.
@@m.theresa1385 Yes, I dislike maraschino cherries in everything but this cake. I am honour bound to add them!
The best part of the cake is the maraschino cherries. You have to use that kind to get the full experience.
What did you do with the pineapple juice? Did you replace it with the yogurt?
The name for this in Australia is pineapple cake
i would prefer the top more caramelized with more caramelly goo on top, but otherwise looks pretty good.
I've said this before and I'll say this again: I need this Queen to befriend me. ❤️ I'm obsessed. ✨
Left-handed!
I mean you have to go all the way and add custard.
How can I ger recipe without having to subscribe to NY times
Is that an 8, or 9 inch cake pan?
What about the pineapple juice,???
She didn't say how much. Flour, sugar, etc? So, I have to look for new recipe. 🙄
There’s a link for the recipe in the description

Her presentation is so adorable 🥰
