A fan of very pale inks here, I use it for initial sketches in drawings and they're quite pleasant + becomes visible after repeated strokes😉Understand why most people won't be a fan of this but I'm wanting a bottle
Fair enough. I don't do much in the way of sketching and drawing with fountain pen inks, but I had such a terrible time with Morning Glow, I assumed that they'd also be a problem for people who did it seriously... but of course it makes sense that they'd be more useful to people who know how to use them 🙂
I don't really know what to do with such a light ink either. Honestly I was always surprised that inks like Sailor Manyo Haha are so popular, they don't really seem usuable.
How would I use this ink? I wouldn't. I got the spoilers for this calendar when I still might have had a hope of getting one, just to make sure I wasn't going to have real regrets and... nope. None. Way too many of these inks are just not useful to me. I don't mind the run of blue so much. Little repetitive maybe, but all good and useful. It's the gray after gray after gray and to lighten up the monotony... a periodic yellow or taupe. I would like to be able to read my writing later!
i do personally really like this one, but i definitely think its best suited for writing languages that use more strokes than the roman alphabet (like korean) , i do love pale inks and since i write very small they tend to be pale but still workable (though i also very much get that i have more niche tastes than most people in this hobby)
Dear Colorverse: Whatcha thinkin'? Who did you put in charge of the color palette for this one? It feels like maybe you gave three different committees the job of creating colors... then put the colors from said committees into the calendar, without really vetting them. Go home Colorverse; you drunk.
Maybe? I just remember how much trouble I had getting any differentiation in tones with that morning glow a few days ago... it was really hard to work with.... and this one seems like it would never be anything more than a very pale blue. Maybe that would be useful for skies and things, for people who paint with multiple colors 🙂
I actually wrote a couple pages with this ink on Sanzen TR using the Pilot dip pen in M and it is more legible than your example (I opened my calendar early 😂). Colorverse has a few very pale inks so I'm really not surprised to see at least one in here.
Where I labeled my swatches with a dip pen, the ink was also much more legible and better looking than when I used a fountain pen... I'm glad to hear that that wasn't an anomaly. I suppose that this ink was probably developed with dip-pens in mind... there is a huge hobby in Japan and Korea of using ink like this exclusively with glass dip pens (or dip pens more generally), so that would make sense.
I think such pale colours are made just as collectables for fountain pen enthusiasts, so practicality is out of focus here. And thank you very much for the honest review!
I don't understand why companies make inks this pale. They can be nice for artwork, they swatch beautifully, but they're fully impractical for writing.
"Suspiciously similar to the colour of Midori paper". 🤣🤣
Like a White Hole, this ink also cannot be seen with the naked eye 😂
That's also called money hole.

I think that this ink would also work well for people who are simply not using it fountain pens... dip pens or brush pens would work a lot better.

😂😂😂😂😂
You’re right, writing seems remote with this shade, but artwork and swatching enhancement may have application?

Have to admit that I'm relieved that I didn't this calendar

What is the frosted antique glass looking pen in the pan shot to the calendar?
That's my PLP Aquarelle... it looks like a Coke bottle green 🙂 I have an ASA Nauka in the same material that shows up in these videos, too.
Sweet…I’m gonna look those up. I really like the look of that pen!

I agree with your evaluation; the ink is too pale and virtually useless. Don't understand its inclusion in the calendar.
Oh, Colorverse 🫣 I really hope they do another calendar next year that is a little more focused towards their strengths in dynamic, creative inks.
It's up to their customers to let them know it was lackluster
I love this callendar. Your videos are so calming and nice. Keep it up! Merry Christmas from Norway❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊
It’s almost like invisible ink * chuckles * probably my least favorite ink thus far. Would be pretty for pale clouds or painting water though.
I was thinking the same thing... sky or water, if you don't happen to have some water and a tiny bit of blue ink handy.
Ok, that’s a nope. Pretty color tho
I can feel the disappointment in your voice. Useless ink.
Not a fan of all these very light inks. I write with all of mine and I'd never be able to read this.
I would have chosen perhaps a pale grey but they had the correct idea of making a pale ink.
