I am liking your comparison videos. Provides very useful information for those of us trying to stay on a bowling ball budget. I would love to see a comparison of the Hitter pearl with the solid, and with Outer Limits. I have the Hitter solid and it’s great!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. That was definitely one of my goals -- help people make more informed decisions for themselves. I will try to get my hands on the Hitters!
Great advice regarding hitting it with some surface. I have a Teal Rhino Pro that jist wasn't turning the corner and was coming in light. I git it with some surface and got better results this past week. Hoping to repeat the shots I was making in game three last week as I felt I was consistently hitting the pocket flush. Had a couple of tough 7 pins. But I was happy about being consistent.
Thanks for the comment! I had been exploring different mic options that are compatible with our setup and it's honestly so complicated. I never ever ever expected to be filming, editing, posting, etc so it's been a work in progress. I just purchased a new mic 🙏 I pre-recorded 2 other videos before our 2.5 week vacation, so the mic quality will have to wait another couple of weeks 🙃
Just got my HSolid. It seems very strong and stays on path through the pins, however it does not flip or break as much at the backend. This should be a good ball to have depending on lane conditions.
Yes, definitely not going to make that "flip" motion in the back since it's a very strong solid, symmetric. Maybe on a super short, high volume pattern would it appear to flip more, but that would actually be a pattern I would consider throwing this ball on to start since it's such a strong, smooth bowling ball. Does that make sense?
Love the Hazmat Hy, was considering the solid only cuz I don't have a "big" sym solid. My biggest sym currently is a Radical Crypto. What do you think?
Hmmmm.....I haven't thrown the Radical Crypto, so I can't give you a personal opinion on it. Do you bowl on any patterns with heavier volume/medium length? Or do you find yourself thinking your current balls go too long and are too quick response sometimes?
@@bowlwithVALue THS, but if it's fresh fresh I usually start with 3.0 then go from there. My current line up is 3.0,2.0Hy, Hazmat, Scorpion LF, Arctic Vibe, Raw pearl.
@@newbloodink that looks like a great arsenal already. Have you put surface on the Arctic Vibe? That could be a "stronger sym" with surface. That ball looks super slow response from what I've seen.
Question: so I bowl at a house with heavy oil volume it breaks down a tad bit depending what type of bowlers are bowling. I have the effect as a midrange ball but it doesn’t hook enough still at this house . I was recommended the solid over the original Hazmat what’s ur thoughts on this? I typical start with the Brunswick Mesmerize with it sanded down to 1k grit then move to my harsh reality solid with a 1k grit or the Hammer Extreme envy with a 1k grit. I don’t have a lot of rev rate ,I’m typically a straight down and in bowler.
This is a great question! The Effect will very likely not work there with that volume of oil...unless you're bowling a lot of games lol. That's ok though because not every ball is supposed to work all the time. It sounds like you have a lot of the strong, early rolling pieces....The Hazmat solid would likely fit into what you have since it's a symmetric core and the other balls you mentioned are asymmetric! It depends on what you think you need -- do these asym solids burn up before game 3? maybe the Hazmat (hybrid) would be good. If you feel like they're still close, maybe the Hazmat solid would actually be better.
I don’t know how far back you go with Brunswick or EBI, but seeing that this has the same coverstock as the Scandal Solid, I wonder how this would compare to that, as the Scandal was Hammer’s hardest hooking ball at the time, especially for being symmetrical. If it is that good, I may have a spot for it in my bag between the Widows, and Envy Tour.
hmmm.....I believe that was before the acquisition so I didn't get the chance to throw it. I do think that would be a really close comparison to the hazmat solid though! I remember seeing lots of the EBI women on the PWBA Tour throwing that one.
Does bowling wreck your nail polish? My mother just bought a ball and is worried that bowling will wreck her nails. She only just started getting them done after 70 years so she's worried about her nails.
What a great question. Honestly, yes. Nail polish wrecks my nails though so I never wear it haha. I used to get my nails done with either gel or dip when I was bowling on tour and bowling didn't affect those stronger polishes. Regular nail polish - might chip!
@@bowlwithVALue Ok, i believe she gets the gel kind. I will let her know. I just used nail polish as a general term, i don't know the differences lol. I don't know much about bowling yet either for that matter, i just recently started. Only have 13 games under my belt.
I would think knocking the cover off the hybrid might see more reaction. Adding polish to the solid will just delay its reaction, albeit smoothing it out. Would only do that if it is hooking too much and the hazmat solid didn’t look like it was having that problem. Just saying.
I often wondered this myself and you could probably get them to be closer, but like @quinnkeating8431 said, putting polish on the solid would increase the length, but likely not cause the same quick response reaction as the hybrid does naturally, Adding surface to the hybrid *should* slow the response down by causing it to bleed energy earlier. I don't think it would get to be as smooth as the solid hazmat though.
What can be so confusing sometimes is that the pearl "looks" like it hooks so much more. You had to jump left when you technically balled down. Do you think that you could start slightly more square (and more in the oil) with the hybrid and when the lanes start to break down you could switch to the cleaner response pearl?
It really is confusing! Yes I believe I could do that, depending on how much oil is in the middle of the lane.....might actually need to switch to the solid the further left I get if there's a big puddle in the middle!
Glad to be here. Keep up the great videos. This one was great.
Thank you!!
Excellent as always Valerie

Great video comparing two awesome bowling balls 🎳
Thanks Anthony!
Compare the Effect to Hazmat, that would be interesting.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!
That would definitely be an interesting comparison. I'll write it down. thanks!
Looks like a really strong SYM piece. I love the OG Hazmat. Great video ! Bill
Yesss, strongest I've thrown yet! Thanks Bill :)
Enjoyed your videos a lot but i feel that if you could invest in a better mic it would make them even better!

@@bowlwithVALue I did actually and it visually looks better but not much motion maybe a lower grit.
Could be picking up earlier and depleting energy....or you could try a lower grit!

I'm glad you're getting into it!!
Hazmat hybrid looks much stronger for that particular house pattern than the solid.
yes, agreed - strong and quicker response
So if you polish the solid, will it act like the hybrid? Or if you add surface to the hybrid, will it react like the solid?

Were both balls drilled the same?
Hammer Scorpion Strike Pearl - compare to any other pearl.
You're for a treat! We have this planned. if not next week, the week after.
