Can't believe - the craze of the song Jaan Pahchaan Ho - created by the genius duo Shankar Jaikishan - they were among the best in the world - very happy to learn about their followers around the world - it brings in so much of joy!
Indeed yes!! I am a total Rafi Saab fan too, love this interpretation, as well as the Heineken one, as well as the opening music in Ghost World. But the Best is of course the original in Rafi Saab's voice - the voice that even the gods could not bear to send away to earth for too long!!!

many thanks, you people from all over the world !! It is such a pleasure to discover your reactions to our cover of this great song. Thanks too for correcting me on the composer SHANKAR JAIKISHAN !Our band "les Fanfoireux" is from Brussels, Belgium. We were playing live in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, during our tour there in january 2017.
The Composer Shankar-Jaikishan ji and the Singer Mohammad Rafi sahab together were such a formidable combination ! They made so many super-hit songs. The present rendition and the band/orchestra have so beautifully re-produced a version of their own which is of course very much like the super hit song made by the maestros .
We thought only Indians feel proud to sing foreign songs but this song sung by Great Rafi composed by Shankar Jaikishan has forced other country bands to perform this song. How beautifully tried with a few instruments.Dhanya hai sabhi.
A timeless composition by Shankar Jaikishan.... it was ahead of it's time ... even today in 2019 the new generation finds it hard to control their leg shaking in this number... and what a magnificent rendition of the song by this band Les Fanfoireux... hats off to all the team members for their infectious energy level.. I salute you all... you have not only touched the heart of we Indians by your performance but you have enthralled the world audience with this number.
Excellent!! I'm studying early 20th century Latin American music from both Brazil and Argentina. With all due respect to the music directors, Shankar Jaikishen in this case, and all the other gems of Bollywood music, Anil Biswas, Naushad, Ghulam Mohammed, Madan Mohan et al, to name a few; there was behind each of these a galaxy of stars usually from Goa with shining presences like Anthony Gonsalves who were the true masters of these musical delights. They were referred to as mere arrangers. They were amongst the only Indians that could read the Western music manuscripts and had impeccable knowledge of Music theory that allowed all these catchy raaga based melodies to be adorned with harmony. The similarity of Chiquinha Gonzaga's Gaucho to a lot of Bollywood pieces from the late 40s onward is obvious as are various Ernesto Nazareth, Zequinha D'Abreu pieces and too the tangos from across the border in Argentina of Eduardo Arolas, Jose Martinez et al. If you understand or have access to a Hindi interpreter, there is a Rajyasabha TV documentary in two parts called Gumnaam Hai Koi on RUclips. This was published about four years ago and also features snippets of an interview with the music composer Vanraj Bhatia, with whom I've had the pleasure of meeting. I reiterate what this documentary presents in a very satisfactory way. Sundeep Singhji Chudasama
Original "Jan Pehchan Ho" brought me here!! Loved to listen to this amazing band....music composer of the original song was Shankar Jaikishan and it was sung by legendary Bollywood singer Mohammed Rafi and written by great Shailendra. The choreography of this beautiful dance number was done by Harman Benjamin and dancing girl is Laxmi Chhaya. The song is from Bollywood movie "Gumnam" which was released in 1965 and well we are still shaking on this number in 2017!!!🇨🇦🇮🇳
Wow, what a performance. Original composed by great SJ and sung by the greatest Rafi sahab. Making us proud, it's now a global chatrbuster and many European bands are performing this on stage globally. Wow what a proud moment for for all of us Indian, stay united...
That's a 1965 Hindi movie song, movie Gumnaam (meaning in English - Unnamed). And the singer is someone who sang for every genre of music imaginable on this planet. Remember his name, Mohammed Rafi, because we will be listening to him for another 100 years atleast, doesn't matter really that he left this world 40 years ago.
@karan johar...thats the power of Legend Mohd Rafi...he was an international icon of music... But according to ur lack of GK KNOWLEDGE In Ae dil hail mushkil...woh toh sirf rote the na...
Mohammad Rafi was the legendary singer who sang it. This tune was composed by the equally legendary music directors duo Shankar-Jaikishan, known as SJ in 1965 for the film 'Gumnaam'.
Electric performance of one of our most loved songs.Considering, that it is being rendered by a Belgian Band, in a language foreign to them,is all the more creditable.Just lovely.Carry on with more such experiments, love all from Kolkata,India.

Hi ! Many thanks for your words ! It's so beautiful to read so many positive reactions to our show and interpretation of this wonderful indian hit. We would LOVE to travel to India, and think about it since a while..... discovering this great country, impregnating from your beautiful culture and music, sharing human meetings and musical emotions..... it's a dream ! but it's a big trip for a little belgian band, and we'll first wait for the end of the global lockdown to create new perspectives ! 1000 thanks again !
Fauntastic guys. Superb This one is one of the Rafi saabs best and also music director Shankar Jaikishan. You have done full justice to the original song considering its not your language. You guys must see songs of Teesari Manzil.
don't worry, lot of credit to go around . Though this was one of the most average compositions by the stalwarts of that era. Indians like u are just happy because the whites like this song , and we always want their approval.
@@NightRider0101 It was sad for me to learn today that Laxmi Chayaa died of cancer at 56 years old in 2004. She was the lead dancer in Gumnaam when the song was first showcased.
Thank you so much. A great oldie song from India. Would never of thought such an old song would get the recognition it deserves for the genre it played in bollywood. Not your typical bollywood number. Les Fanfoireux and RUclips made this happen.
Wow wow wow!! Warms the cockles of my heart to hear this - Bollywood's greatest male voice Rafi singing to tunes composed by Shankar Jaikishen (Bollywood's greatest music directors) for lyrics written by Shailendra, himself probably the best lyricist ever in Bollywood! And your guys from Brussels are amazing...for me Brussels will be known more for than just the EU, beer and the muscles from Brussels!
Super rendition. It shows the kind of effort that all the session musicians would have put together to create this classic by composers Shankar-Jaikishen
I think one of the things that made the original so cool was Herman Benjamin, maybe a mention of him somewhere in the credits would be nice! He owned the visualization of that song.
I am watched it today in 2020, 3 years after you guys have performed in Bahamas. You guys were extraordinarily wonderful...No enough word to describe your superlative performance... simply amazing...
WOW!! What a Superb performance, an enchanting performance bro!! The whole band came alive with energy that is so visible. The Original Music director duo Shankar & Jaikishan along with the Original Singer Rafi would be very pleased. Great Job and keep up the fantastic work.
