Definitely! I think it wasn't even developed with mail in mind ... Judikins specializes, I think, in scrapbooking. But, man, is it great for mail art!!
What a great thing to know because it would be heartbreaking to work so hard making something awesome only to have it ruined by the rain! Thank you for this!
I know it! I'm trying to film more -- with a seven-month-old at home, it can be tough to find the time; but as she gets older, it gets a little easier! :) Thanks, Jack!
Thank you for sharing MicroGlaze with us. I got my first one a few years ago. I love this product and it always gives me peace of mind. Just purchased my second one recently. I highly recommend this product to protect your mailart.
This product is a life saver! After spending the time to make this card (or any other of Lindsey's creations) I'd hate to have water ruin all the work put into it! I had never heard of such a product before and now have this and LOVE it!!! Thank you, Lindsey, for this and all the really helpful tips and tricks you share!!!
Amazing, thank you for uploading this! I've been having trouble with my microglaze being too sticky/oily after I apply it - the buffing tip is SO helpful! Very excited to use this technique on future projects.
Thank you so much for these wonderful videos and for your web page. I have learned so much. I reached a point many years ago where I was bored with calligraphy. You have sparked my interest again and made it fun once more.
Hello! That is so amazing to hear! It can sometime be a defeating task to take up, but I am so glad that you are trying once again! It is my pleasure to provide any inspiration I can! Thank you for enjoying!
You're always so clear in your explanations that It amazes and motivates me to keep learning and improving my own skills. Thank you so mucho for your hard work
Great idea. But does the envelope then be kinda sticky, and it could stick to other mail? Have you ever had anyone report back to you that their mail never reached you...because maybe it stuck to something?
I saw someone's comment below about leaving the stamp alone so the post office can cancel it properly. What about the other marks they place on letters as they go through the system? Do we have to worry about those not sticking after using MicroGlaze?
Hi! Great question! When using MicroGlaze or similar products, the primary concern is usually with the stamp area since the post office needs to cancel it effectively. However, other marks placed by the post office should still be visible, as they're not always ink-based like the cancellation marks. I should add that I've often MicroGlazed over *everything* (stamp included) on an envelope and not ever had a problem. Basically: don't worry about it. :)
Great video.. assuming this is not for use with gouache lettering as it would likely smear. And if so, what do you use for gouache or Dr. Martin's bleedproof white (which totally smeared in the rain for me). Thanks!
I really like your videos and I'm always impressed by the varying styles of writing/calligraphy you use or demonstrate. I do have a suggestion for the next time you demonstrate waterproofing or any situation where you use water against a white background... put a drop of ink into the water so your viewers can see what you are demonstrating. I really couldn't see the effect of the MicroGlaze treatment on the envelope and the water (too transparent). I do trust the envelope was protected but you went to the trouble of demonstrating to show the effectiveness and that part of the demonstration did not come through.
I'm not sure why it would wear off, honestly! Assumedly, a paper treated with it wouldn't be handled much for it to wear off. I'd give it a few years, at least -- if not indefinitely?
I’m a card maker…not really a calligrapher. But card makers use micro glaze on envelopes all the time over top of dye inks and other water soluble colors. Just be sure to not put the glaze over the stamps since the post office has to cancel the stamps and their ink won’t stick to it either. I hope that made sense.
K Werner Designs does artwork on envelopes often. She’s a big card maker. I’ll see if I can post a link to one of her videos. ruclips.net/video/RDODs3eRjCw/видео.html
This is so clear and helpful - thank you! I can see applications for more than just mail.
Definitely! I think it wasn't even developed with mail in mind ... Judikins specializes, I think, in scrapbooking. But, man, is it great for mail art!!
I love this easy "insurance"! Thank you Lindsey
Great way to put it, ha! Thank you for enjoying!

That's a great tip!
I'm glad you mentioned putting the stamps on first. I totally would have done it after putting on the micro glaze. Great tip for a novice like me.
Yes! Thank you for enjoying!

Yes! Gotta do the buffing -- otherwise, I agree, it's just way too oily.

Hi Lindsay Happy Happy ~ Love Jennie :)
Great idea. But does the envelope then be kinda sticky, and it could stick to other mail? Have you ever had anyone report back to you that their mail never reached you...because maybe it stuck to something?
It's not sticky at all. :)
Thank you very much! )
You are very welcome!

I use it with gouache and Bleed Proof White! Just make sure they're totally dry. They won't smear.
When applying the MicroGlaze does it matter if the ink is not waterproof? I added it to my list of things to order.
Nope! In fact, the less waterproof the ink, the more important it is that you use the Microglaze. It doesn't smear non-waterproof inks.
That's a fabulous suggestion -- thank you!!
I assume the MicroGlaze wears off eventually, any guesses (or experience) with how long before it stops protecting the ink from water?
I'm not sure why it would wear off, honestly! Assumedly, a paper treated with it wouldn't be handled much for it to wear off. I'd give it a few years, at least -- if not indefinitely?
@@LindseyBugbeeTPK That's good to know it should last a while. Thanks for the reply!
What do you suggest to use on large projects such as wedding envelopes?
I'd use a spray finish! Read more here: thepostmansknock.com/how-to-waterproof-envelopes/
That is so awesome! Would it work over watercolour as well?
I’m a card maker…not really a calligrapher. But card makers use micro glaze on envelopes all the time over top of dye inks and other water soluble colors.
