    I purchased one not.long ago very pleased and no cracks and mine was straight as an arrow the only thing ill change is the tip i thought it was a great buy

      Completely agree, for the money these really are an excellent choice. The tip is on the harder side (Le Pro) which - as covered in the video - we feel is not the best tip option for a cue aimed at players more at the beginner end (medium seems the obvious best choice for beginners or casual players), but overall an excellent cue for the money!

    i went to a sporting goods store to buy one of their more inexpensive $49 cues and some of the wraps were falling apart right on the rack. So be careful of what you are buying, you might want to either buying one without the wrap or spend a little more money on one with a good wrap.

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  20 дней назад

      Was it definitely an ASKA cue you were looking at in the store? We had a three pack of L2's and a four pack of L9's and the wraps were all perfect on those. 👍

      @@AverageJoesPool No It wasn't an ASKA cue. I don't recall the names of the cue but it was being sold a a Sports retail chain.

    I just bought a set of 5. 2 shafts were crap, 1 was good enough, 2 were great. All the butts were good. I did rip those hard brownies from the tip and slapped some elk masters on em'. Now im slamming balls all over spread through out 6 different holes. These things are playing just as good as my $125 action cues. But i do admit it does feel better to hold my action cues.

      Thanks for the input! Yes, it seems you had similar results to us overall. It would be nice to see stricter quality control at the factory to stop the few with poor alignment slipping through, but I guess this is likley one of the compromises they expect buyers to make when buying cheap cues. Yes, it would b interesting to see how these play with a much softer tip (such as the Elk Master you mentioned). The Le Pro are quite hard and not the best choice for a beginners cue - medium seems the more suitable choice. Thanks again!

    Great review. I would love to see you do more of these. Are there any lower end ques that you would recommend over these?

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  Год назад +2

      Glad that you enjoyed the video! We definitely have more reviews coming - make sure you're subscribed with notifications enabled. It depends what you mean by lower-end really. These ASKA L2/L3 cues are between $30 and $50 depending if you're buying one or a multi-pack. These offer a lot of bang for your buck! Are they the best in the World, of course not. But decent at a great price, yes! We have a review coming up on the cheapest branded pool cue on Amazon. It will be interesting to see how it compares to these. We should also have some more ASKA reviews coming soon too!

    I appreciate these reviews, really well done video. I'm considering a multipack to replace the 'house cues' I have in my rec room. Side note though, the clip at 7:50, any idea what that movie might be?

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  Год назад +2

      Thank you! Yes, these are definitely worth picking up as a cheap set of house cues. For what you get, for the money, they're a really decent buy. Are they perfect, no. But in the context of the price point ($30-$50) you aredefinitely getting excellent value! With regards to the clips, we're keeping those close to our chest for possible future competitions and promotions etc so we can't identify them... BUT someone else here reading might know that movie? If so, please help this guy out. Clue, It's Hammer time! :-)

    Are alcohol branded cues any good ? I have a buddy with a brand new jagermeister cue in box that I would love to have if it was any good. I currently have a Viking Valhalla

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  Год назад

      Well, firstly you have a very decent cue (for the money) right now in the Valhalla! Would the Jagermeister cue be an upgrade? Well, it depends on how old it is (appreciate it has not been used) and who would have manufactured it etc. I've seen some alcohol branded cues which are just terrible, and a couple which seemed pretty decent! So the quality could vary quite a bit as different companies make them, some good and some not so good, and the manufacturers change over the years etc. Just remember Jagermeister is not a brand of pool cues, whereas Valhalla (Viking) is. I'd stay put unless you REALLY like that Jagermeister!

    Hi, I know this is quite an older video, but... I see at least two ASKA cues, one is a "Billiards" cue and one is a "Pool" cue... they both measure 58", seem to have basically identical stats... but the wrap is slightly different and one is $10 more than the other. The one you are reviewing is L2, but the other one is L9. I am looking to play American pool... is there any way you can take a look and let me know if they are comparable or there is some difference my amateur eyes is not seeing? Thank you!

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, you are correct. There is the L2 with wrap and identical L3 without wrap, and also the L9 which is a different model. We have done a full review on the L9 as well, link coming up... If you choose to buy either please help support us in return and click on our Amazon links in the Video Description. Here is the L9 review: ruclips.net/video/MHSBmfd7GWs/видео.html

      @@AverageJoesPool HAH! What a coincidence. Thanks, I watched the L9 video and... just ended up unsure of what to do. The L2 actually tested a bit better if my math is correct (you changed from a scale out of 20 to 5 stars in reviews, but...) But at the tolerances of these cheap sticks, that could be up to dumb luck. Not sure what to do, the L9 is a "prettier" stick... I'm on a fixed income so I'm afraid a ~$60 cue will have to do. Anyways, thanks, and yes I will use your affiliate link if I buy one. Cheers.

    It might make a good break cue.

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  Год назад +2

      Yes, that's true. Especially if you swapped the tip over for a cheap phenolic resin one. The shaft profile would fit this use fairly well!

    • @AverageJoesPool
      @AverageJoesPool  Год назад

      Absolutely - each to their own! It's a shame they went with the LePro as they are pretty hard tips. For a beginner cue such as this medium seems a far better choice overall. BUT it's still nice to have a branded tip on a cheaper cue which is likely why they were chosen.

      IMO Kamui medium are perfect for me and better than the soft tips because they don't flatten out or lose shape as quickly and you can still put a lot of action on the ball. I use a soft though on my masse cue
