Nice to see that those bridges don’t have any protection either, at least this time they had tug escorts. Federal law should require tug escorts for ALL large ships navigating near any critical infrastructure without adequate protective barriers. In the meantime an emergency executive order should be in place until such a law can be passed.
That bridge is holding it's breath like a trucker does when near a Swift driver.
Lol. Laughing from a truck driver
Truth!
that aint only truckers that do that!
Impressive that you're able to text your message while having your head inserted up Trump's A$$
A low bridge.
Those support pillars aren't any better protected than the Key Bridge.
I think they have more to do, but looks darn good so far.
Notice the tow boats just in case there are any "navigation problems."
I see she is burning clean in port fuel instead of that cheap thick, heavy bunkering fuel that caused this whole mess in the first place. Interesting to see when the ships engineers switch to the cheaper fuel to save money for the ships owners.
I still can't believe port authorities are stupid enough not to have adequate barriers around bridge supports. The world's not perfect. The Dali incident was one in several million, but it happened. It could happen again. Everyone responded well to the emergency, but why not be pro-active in prevention?
When that bridge was built, there were no regulations for protecting bridge supports because there were no super container ships then.
Adding new shipping channel pier protection for the Bay Bridge spans is currently under study by the MdTA.
This bridge has the same design problem. There is nothing protecting the support structure/piers from a large ship crashing into the structure and knocking it down, just like the Baltimore bridge.
Why didn't they have the tow bots there the first time?
Very wise, better safe than sorry. And I see it's got tug escorts. It's been proposed that ships that large should have tug escorts when entering or leaving harbors as a matter of course.
And honestly see the minimal clearance between the bridge and masts of the ship and the roadways in my opinion they're making these ships too damn big to begin with!
Who’s going to pay for the damage Dali caused?
I bet tug boats will be used more in future, if only some educated person had seen the sense in this some time ago, then the whole Dali incident would never have happened.
It is amazing how large ships have become since 1977. A tunnel may be the better idea.
Tunnels don't allow hazardous materials to pass through.
That is amazing, its like the Titanic leaving port
Same skipper ,different bridge?
This bridge is at the mouth of Chesapeake bay. Much further down than the Key bridge that Dali struck.
Different crew, thus different captain. I believe the original captain and several of the senior crew are being held in Baltimore while investigation continues.
This is NOT at the mouth of the bay! This crosses at Annapolis.
@@pepawg2281 That is the WPL JR Memorial Bridge.
@@pepawg2281 That is the WPL Jr Memorial Bridge, not the Bay Bridge. But you are right, the video mislabeled which bridge that it is.
Engines seem to be working fine now.
And the camera is watching like this is all planned out, hummmm
Why wouldn't it be. Ship movements are accessible by anyone on the Internet. Sending out a videographer to watch a controversial vessel going under another bridge is certainly newsworthy... Especially with them stopping traffic on the bridge as a precaution... Which was the subject of a very public press release. That, and every news outlet wants the scoop should the Dali wipe out yet another bridge.
Or maybe that's what "they" (New World Order/Elites/Illuminati/Whatever) wants you to think. Perhaps you need to start taking your meds again. 🤣
Never heard them called tow boars before.
If should have been held at port until arrangements were made to pay for damages.
It's like whatshisname, having to be led off the stage, by his handlers. Taking the baby-stairs, and wearing non-slip athletic shoes, while hanging onto the railing for dear life.
Fair Winds and Following Seas.
The tugboats are the ones moving the dali. Because the dali dont have any power.
I wonder if they stopped the traffic over the bridge just to prevent some people from stopping on it trying to get photos as it passed right underneath them? It wasn't gonna hit the bridge with all the tugs around it.
Yes, traffic was halted to avoid curiosity causing accidents.
How many Billions of dollars of products went bad? Or were damaged/destroyed?😪
wow unbelievable ,they actually made it.............
At least 3 tugboats to guide it, and we have to close the bridge? Come on.
It's 4 tug boats to on the side an 1 in the back an front

Halt traffic to be on safe side this time. That ship is a bridge killer. This bridge has no protection at all.

They never upgrade.d. those dolphins were sufficient at the time of build. Ships are bugger.
The ship the us government used to take the key bridge out?
A glorious day to me, like when whatshisname leaves office, soon.
MAGNIFIQUE PONT 🌉
Bon Voyage, Dali....See Ya Later Toots! Though it was certainly good to have your crew of the nineteen as special guests, if they were not simply ghosts or filaments of the imagination, and if they did consist of living flesh and blood why did they have to remain lost to us and asea, mysteriously uncommunicative, made to spend the entire season of Spring as less than friends, just weird strangers resigned and chained together by a solemn code and sworn to a duty to uphold it regardless, imprisoned and kept silent beneath the guise of rare and selfless dedication, but more likely those nineteen were detainees, their mere presence pursuant to crime, bound to it, as the wards of sea admiralty, all for bearing witness to whatever we did or did not see transpire, how unfortunate an accident when so many odd coincidences had to line up for the sad event to be pulled off, that fateful March morning, because we should know those we put into a stewardship to best represent us shall never be forthcoming concerning real facts, we should always remember that one must sneak to get to the truth, even if we Americans had bought and paid dearly for it.
Well, HELLO DOLLY! Long time, no see.
How many seconds would a tug run at full power on electric DC batteries?
UMMM, my Amazon delivery is in that Red Crate - can we have someone get me my package, please? It's a pair of toenail clippers and a lifesize Biden Mannequin that I was going to strap to the front of my cigar boat.
