Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Be prepared for the feels, especially if you grew up in the 90s.

Notice that this (and all of their "Evolution of..." videos) are done in one take. They do the videos several times (usually about 4) and then pick the one that they think is the best.
I would certainly recommend Hallelujah - with over 650 MILLION views, it's their most popular YT video, and it's done beautifully.
Covers: Say Something (Kirstie sings lead, so emotional), Mary Did You Know (you get to hear Kevin sing for a short time), Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) (with a surprise at the end), Attention, Come Along, Rather Be (all lively "bops", you'll have a hard time sitting still).
Originals: Water (from the Popspring Performance 2016), Be My Eyes (Kirstie written and performed), Coffee In Bed, Sing

If you are interested in live performances, I strongly recommend PTX PopSpring Performance 2016 from Japan. 3 original songs and Evolution of Michael Jackson.

Come Along, any of their “Evolution Of” songs, Amazing Grace, Rather Be, Can You Feel The Love Tonight. All are great. Also Scott and Mitch have a side project called Superfruit. They Have an album out, Future Friends. It has amazing pieces as well. One of my favorites is Goodbye From Lonely. So many to pick from.

Some of my faves you must listen to are Evolution of Michael Jackson, Imagine (It'll make you cry), Hallelujah, Can't Hold Us, Gold, Cheerleader, Radioactive (Kevin plays Cello whilst Beat boxing), No, Somebody That I Used To Know & Sing (an original)

The beatboxing in “Evolution of Beyoncé” is insane, I think you’d enjoy that one

Anything by PTX will be amazing. You can’t go wrong with any of their stuff. Their originals are as awesome as what we like to call their upgrades (covers). Enjoy the journey/rabbit hole.

You should watch The Making Of The Evergreen album. It will show you how much they go through to put an album together.

If you haven't done 90's Dance medley, I highly recommend it. It is awesome! Medleys are their thing and they do them well! But everything they do is great. Another one is Come Along. Thanks for reacting.

Great reaction 🤩 I saw you haven't done "Hallelujah" yet, it's absolutely a must! And I'd love to watch you reacting to "Can you feel the love tonight", "Gold" and "Mad World"..

It's nice to have you react to Pentatonix again. Thank you. This very early video was one of theirs that went viral back then. Pentatonix has 10 years and hundreds of amazing music and videos to which you could react. I saw only 6 reactions on your Pentatonix playlist. Others have already made excellent Pentatonix reaction suggestions, so I won't make any.

Gold would be a good one to check out next. If you want to get a view of the true musical genius of Kevin Olusola, the beat boxer, he has his own you tube channel. His cover of Down and Sign of the times will amaze. The man plays several instruments, is a master beat boxer (as you have noticed), sings so good. You really should check it out!. Loving your reactions! Hope you continue down the PTX rabbit hole. It is an amazing journey!

I second checking out Kevin's cover of Down.
And while we're on the subject of beatboxing, check out one of Home Free's vids of Adam Rupp doing a "drum solo" in their live concerts.

Anything by Avi Kaplan. Change on the Rise is his most viewed, First Place I Go, All is Well and I Can't Lie are his latest releases. And Black is the Color of my True Loves Hair is his amazing duet with Peter Hollens.

  • @charlottevan_8

You should at some point check out Avi Kaplan's solo work that he's put out since leaving PTX in Sept 2017. A good starter is his most successful original song so far, "Change on the Rise", wherein he does all vocals and sounds (except for a bit of synth organ and tambourine in the bridge). He began his first tour since 2020 last night in Manchester, England, and the fans loved it. I've seen him 3 times live myself (in 2019), and I have to say that he is indeed awesome live.

Love your reaction. I’ll have to look at your playlist for Pentatonix, but they have the evolution/medleys of Michael Jackson (you should watch that one live on PopSpring 2016 video, it was aired on MTV so the sound quality is top tier, it includes 3 original songs, Cracked, Can’t Sleep Love (this is the best version where Mitch raps, which doesn’t happen in the 2 official videos) and Water. Evolution/medley of Beyoncé, Rhianna and Arianna Grande (you don’t have to know all the songs, they still do a killer job and you’ll probably recognize more than you think you will).

  • @ruth2141
    @ruth2141 2 года назад +3

This was the first of their "Evolution of..." medleys but the "trio" (Mitch, Scott and Kirstie) on the the back row used to do similar things in high school and the ability to do smooth transitions between various songs is one of PTX's specialties. The stellar vocal percussion section that is Avi and Kevin really helps keep the arrangement flowing. They have other evolutions, medleys and mashups that I'm sure you've had recommended (one good thing is that their medleys tend to get blocked less often). Scott and Mitch also did some good medleys on their vlog "Super Fruit"

Home Free is another a cappella five member group with some country charm , killer harmonies and another amazing beat boxer. They just released their cover of Garth Brooks’ Ain’t Goin Down (Till the Sun Comes Up). Voiceplay is also a five member group with beat boxer and maybe the lowest low bass singer out there. You should check out My Mother Told Me. You have a great channel!

If you felt like this was "memory lane"...try watching " '90s Dance Medley"! You look about early- to mid-30s (hope that doesn't offend!), but that would make you the perfect age to remember most of these songs!

Evolution of Music is from 2013 and is, I think, the first of the evolution videos. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
One of my favourite PTX performances is What Is this Feeling? from NBC's A Very Wicked Halloween. It was in RUclips then was taken down so it's hardly ever reacted to.
A Google search will find a posting of it from Facebook but RUclips don't allow the posting of non-RUclips links in a comment.

Hi. I am definitely with @Mellisa Coviello regarding this type of "raw voice" video with her suggestion of "Evolution of Michael Jackson" (shows very well their vocal capability and range, and the transitions with Avi and Kevin are even better). Take care.

Hello Harrison, Loved your reaction to this and glad to see how you really appreciated the music history lesson by PTX. Did you notice the transition from black and white (1950's) to colour (1960' when TV went colour)? PTX are definitely masters of the A Capella game and their arrangements are phenomenal and their transitions in their Evolutions songs are seamless. More suggestions for you: Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Amazing Grace, more of their Evolution series (Michael Jackson, Arianna Grande, Rihanna, Havana, Attention, Imagine, Cheerleader, No (studio version and live version please), Take on Me and Aha (live from Singapore Vista fan video). Then their originals like Sing, Anchor, Never Gonna Cry Again, Happy Now, Be My Eyes, The Lucky Ones and Can't Sleep Love (live version from Popspring 2016). Plus their three Grammy wins - Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Daft Punk and Jolene (with Dolly Parton). More PTX please.
