Marvel's Jessica Jones is an American television series created by Melissa Rosenberg for the streaming service Netflix, based on the Marvel Comics character Jessica Jones. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), acknowledging the continuity of the franchise's films, and was the second Marvel Netflix series leading to the crossover miniseries The Defenders. Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica Jones, an ex-superhero turned private investigator who opens her own detective agency, Alias Investigations. Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, and Carrie-Anne Moss also star, with Mike Colter, Wil Traval, Erin Moriarty, and David Tennant joining them for the first season, J.R. Ramirez, Terry Chen, Leah Gibson, and Janet McTeer joining the cast for second season, and Benjamin Walker, Sarita Choudhury, Jeremy Bobb, and Tiffany Mack joining for the third season. essica Jones is a superpowered woman who had a brief superhero career until an incident in which the villainous Kilgrave caused her to kill someone. After that incident, she becomes a private investigator. When Kilgrave resurfaces, Jessica must rise up to stop him.
In the second season, Jessica Jones discovers that her mother is still alive due to the experiments done by Karl Malus.
In the third season, Jessica Jones faces off against Gregory Sallinger, an enemy who is determined to prove that she is a fraud, as well as her adoptive sister turned murderous vigilante Trish Walker. Развлечения

Just wondering if you're going to do another Avengers EMH video focusing on Iron man?
@@CamboxSpidey no plans for that right away, but the next couple of months will see another EMH-related video - just not on Iron Man

Oooh, saucy.
I'm glad someone is actually talking about JJ. It's so under rated and over hated.
I feel that way about The Punisher too, particularly the underrated part. Jon Bernthal was exquisite, and the final two confrontations in the last two episodes of Season 1 quite frankly put most of the MCU final battles to shame.
@@q94141 Quite FRANKly
Although season 2 was pretty weak imo, the whole show is really really good.
And also in the Defenders show, the interactions between JJ and Daredevil were the best
1st season was great. The rest are at best mid at times
Wait, you’re telling me a marvel show featuring a woman with super strength asserting her individuality against her male abuser attracted disproportionate amounts of hate? Gasp! I’m shocked!
(I actually didn’t know this, given that I watched the show a while after it released, but I can’t say I’m surprised)
Tbh, Jessica Jones might be the only superhero show out there that made me actually think about the “no killing rule.” Like, it’s something that I just take for granted with Batman, and I was honestly super frustrated with the way Daredevil handled it, so I’m happy that Jessica Jones exists for that reason alone. Also it’s just easily my favorite Marvel Netflix show.
Jessica Jones is definitely the superhero show that stands out to me the most. For one, this is not a superhero origin story, the audience were introduced to her after she gave up on being a superhero, and thanks to the interesting narrative device (her working as a PI), we get discover her past and her trauma with her. The exploration of PTSD is just incredible and Krysten Ritter and David Tennet gave knock out performances every scene they're in. But my favorite thing is how the show define what makes a hero, Jessica is far from your typical female superhero, but she always chooses to do the right thing no matter how difficult the decisions are like sending Trish to prison, deciding the stay in New York and continue to fight Killgrave even if she knew she might lose. She's probably the most well-written Marvel female superhero on screen so far, hopefully she gets to return one day.
I love just how far and how much effort Jessica puts into finding solutions without killing, even if it ends in a killing anyway all the effort she put in doesn't feel wasted or pointless. It always felt like going that extra mile to stave off death still matters. When she comes across the couple trying to kill her because they hate all super powered beings it felt like Jessica was being confronted by the sheer pointlessness and idiocy of how killing to make the world better really is, and their audacity was a reminder to be better than that.
I loved this show for the reason I loved Marvel Comics as a kid in the 90's. They all too often dealt with very REAL situations. Alcoholism, abuse, deaths, betrayals for self interest. This show hit me at those very honest emotional levels. Spider-man NEEDS to save everyone, including the villains, or he's failed. Iron Fist wants peace and tranquility and is frustrated when people are violent, so he lashes out himself. This show really demonstrated trauma.
Jessica Jones came in ultimately second to Daredevil in overall quality, but its ending was the most tormenting. I am so thrilled for continuation of her storylines!
I need Trish to come back in some capacity
This was a masterclass in actual film critique. Whereas I do viscerally enjoy taking down the posers and haters like TCD and his ilk, it's another (and much more powerful) thing altogether to set the bar so much higher on the other side of the aisle that comparison is all that is necessary to demonstrate difference. Fracking cheers mate. Exceptional work on this one.
I'm surprised your channel isn't more popular, with the quality of content you produce
That’s what I thought from the first time I found this channel a few weeks ago, incredibly underrated
I see what you mean here. Jessica Jones feels so real and gritty. But I still can't forget that Jessica also exists in a universe where magic and all depictions of the afterlife exist lol. So that lessens death here a bit. But I still love the gritty feel of Jessica Jones.
I am so happy to see you do a video on this show! I love it to pieces, flaws and all. And this is such a genuinely thoughtful, melancholic, and compassionate look at Death in Jessica Jones! You articulated incredibly well something nebulous that permeates the whole thing but that I could have never been able to pinpoint.
This show is criminally underrated
Yeah it was gruesome in parts but this series is Marvel at its absolute best (apart from Daredevil of course!)
Quite frankly, with the exception of Moon Knight, which earned my respect when they tackled a heavy topic in episode 5 that the MCU has never seemed to have the guts to do with Hulk, none of the Disney+ shows hold a candle to the Netflix Marvel shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher. Those shows, I feel, not only displayed a level of realism and drama that the MCU has lacked, but also managed to tackle serious topics more thoughtfully and naturally. Regarding Daredevil, I really don’t understand why the MCU did not just continue Daredevil after season 3, especially since a certain villain’s story seemed to have just been getting started. From what I’ve seen of MCU Kingpin and Daredevil so far, I’m not overly confident that the MCU will match the quality of their Netflix portrayals.
Season 1 of this show might just be one of the best things Marvel's ever done
Excited to see where they incorporate this awesome character into the MCU. Say what you will about She-Hulk but no true fan of the Daredevil character will deny that they absolutely nailed that appearance. Great video btw!!
The suit does not look good
It looks like Jess is gonna be in Born Again. Luke and Danny sadly don't seem like they're gonna be making their way into anything soon
Excellent video. It nicely echoes the style of Jessica's own voiceovers.
I really hope she comes back
She was supposed to play a major role in the upcoming Daredevil reboot series but Krysten Ritter had to pull out at the last minute for a previous commitment. I’d wager that they’ll find another way to reintroduce her, they clearly want her back. 👍
@@CrowTRobot She did?! :o I hadn't heard that. Oh, no!
V or zero.
If the government won't try to stop nazis fully when they have guns=the fbi needs to fight/do campaigns.
then v or zero.
Jessica Jones is one of the best Netflix series out there especially the first season.
I was really surprised at the depth of this show when it first came on Netflix. Marvel could really use more content of this caliber.
Thanks for talking about this series. One of my favourites.
Jessica Jones and Daredevil are what I wanted from the mcu and marvel shows
Great video, great show!
Great analysis, ty again dude!
WOOOO THE VIDEO’S HERE!!
The comments are underselling my favourite marvel tv show, Luke Cage
The Recommending Numbers have not abandoned you, they're just late.
I love Jessica Jones
Killgrave is probably the most frightening Marvel villain I've seen in any of their movies or television shows.
And this video is excellent.
Man, this makes me so nostalgic for Jessica Jones (only season 1, though).
It had its flaws, yes. But it always felt so sincere, grounded, and consequential. It felt painful to watch at times, but for all the right reasons, and I think this video really nailed why it felt so impactful.
Jessica Jones would be an excellent character for The Boys.
Started it because of David Tennant, stayed because of good writing
Commenting for the algorithm
I did not know that will Simpson was nuke in the comics lol
Best quote from this series "With great power comes great mental illness". And Trish coming to the realisation that she's now a villain.
❤❤❤❤
Jessica is the perfect Marvel character and hero character in general, so much more relatable to me than any others because she's wholly defined by her rage and trauma and grief in a way that feels not performative but real, not polished for the audience, she's an actual asshole and she never becomes bubbly or great with people, she gets better, sure, but she's always going to be a darker person even as she comes into her own. And she is a survivor time and time again and that's where the badassness comes from, her ability to keep getting hit again and again and not stop. I just think Krysten Ritter was the perfect person for this role and she embodies the grief, loneliness, and exhaustion and weariness so perfectly and to the point where it is relatable, but more in an uncomfortable way, a difficult mirror to look into but one I feel better and stronger for seeing too, tbh.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
1st season was great. Even my gf watched it twice with me. 2nd season wasn't great and my gf gave up on it.
You're not wrong. The second season was far from bad, but not as great as the first. I would rate the third season in between those.
personaly I loved the storyline with jessica mother
It's too bad the show sucked after season 1. But at least Krysten Ritter was always great in the role.
The reviews of the second season scared me off and I didn’t want to sour how strongly season 1 had ended for me. I still say that S1 was strong enough to say that DD and JJ were the best of the Netflix series.
The show never sucked, you lack to accept the story of great writing situations for every character
You think every season was gonna have a Killgrave? No, this show isn't about big comic book people, it's about real people dealing with life with comic book representations added to it
@@ninjanibba4259 If you enjoy watching dull, boring, badly written and horribly paced seasons of TV then good for you. Season 1 was the only good one because it's the only season with good writing. Whereas I have to mentally fight myself to not fall asleep watching an episode of seasons 2 and 3.
Season 3 was pretty good, but yeah, Season 2 was kinda bad.
Are these shows canon
short answer: kinda mostly yes ish
@@PillarofGarbage according to official word and Easter eggs up until Ms marvel they are still
