What's Going On With The Insane S&S Spin Shot Thrill Ride?

- If built, the S&S Spin Shot would be talked about as one of the craziest thrill rides ever created... First announced in November of 2020, we haven't seen any park purchase one of these yet or convert their existing S&S tower attraction with these new ride vehicles. Why? I share my thoughts with you and what I think the future will bring for this thrill ride...

If Kennywood added a new drop tower to their park it could be a trio of S&S towers in Steelers Country called either "Touchdown" or "Terrible Towers" with one that slowly climbs up before dropping, one that launches up, and a Spinshot that launches up.
You should start a series of videos that's like your "what rides could this park get next" videos but instead it's "whats parks could this ride be built at".
I think we will see this kind of attraction! and Power Tower would be perfect candidate to get it for at least 2 of the 4 sides🤘🏼 i’ve not seen another Drop tower that could be like this, yet!

6 flags could SPIN this into calling this attraction HARLEY QUINN SPINSANITY at some of its parks. It fits the 6 flags model of not wanting to spend huge money on something. An insane location would be right on the edge of the quarry wall at fiesta Texas. It would screw with your mind so much!!! Just imagine if Intamin could do this with their gondola style drop tower rides. Imagine doing the flips like that on Zumanjaro. Just a scary as hell thought. Keep being awesome dude!!!

I believe this would likely go to SFDK, there is a banner that stated “We’re taking to new hights in 2024”, which ment that it’s “probably on the way” but was unfortunately not included in SF’s new for 2024 announcements. I’d say this would go to a SF park for 2025 as my prediction for SFDK
It really doesn't make sense. It seems like such a fun and marketable idea that would be so simple to install. Just envision this at SFOT or Cedar Point. It would cause quite the buzz to flip upside down over 300 feet in the air. And it would also really plus up the shorter versions of the model.
Six flag St.Louis ,has taken down their drop tower and could be replacing it,why not,they already have some crazy flat rides,could you imagine them adding this
This would definitely breathe new life into existing Space Shots, and I'm really surprised Cedar Point hasn't added these to at least two of the 4 towers at their park (maybe it's a proximity thing to the other towers).
I think the ride experience is too similar to a slingshot, which is an up-charge attraction. if CP put one of these on one of the power tower shot towers, I would imagine the SlingShot would probably be removed within a few years. So then you'd have a park paying for a new ride vehicle and having to pay to remove their slingshot towers instead of having multiple towers in the skyline with one set bringing in enough money to probably pay for itself.

If this could be done to Drop of Doom out at Magic Mountain, I could see them doing it on one side to offer the choice of either a Spin Shot or a traditional drop. Or, since Dive Devil is a third party controlled ride, I could see them getting rid of it and replacing it with a Spin Shot or other flat ride. Silverwood could possibly convert Panic Plunge.
That would be legit!
I think this would be good for Canada's Wonderland. I would totally ride this model, looks really awesome and totally insane. Could maybe modify Drop Tower, i dont know but it would be cool.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

would be cool if dr dooms fear fall had this (one tower sit down one a spin shot Or both spin shots) it would be a revival and bring alot of popularity to that ride as its unique.

Dr Doom is my favorite launch tower and would love to see it there and make it one and one. They could even market it as increasing the Maximum Fear Extraction
I want one at Six Flags New England or Lake Compounce since both parks have an S&S drop tower and could use a new attraction. Especially after the disappointing "big announcement" SFNE made for this year

I just think we are seeing an downturn in interest in drop towers. Like inverts, it's gotten to the point that every park that could use one, pretty much has one. On top of that, there have been some very public accidents that have further removed parks interest in investing in drop towers.
Parks are even removing drop towers.
While this add on would be a cheap way to market an old ride, it's would likely still be a few million investment in a less in demand ride.

I have been saying since Arieforce One opened that what the park needs next between major installments is some kind of launch tower ride. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see this come to Fun Spot Atlanta. I would be fine if they only had 2 sides spin and the other 2 are the traditional seats. That way there's the best of both worlds and give you two different experiences you don't get from acrophobia at SFoG

I think the Orlando incident is and will prevent parks from investing in any drop towers. I'm betting insurance rates went up a lot for them and I doubt they will go down anytime soon.
The issue there though if I recall was poor training as they let someone who was overweight ride causing the restraint to fail. At that point it’s an isolated incident that shouldn’t effect insurance for anyone besides Icon Park or a park with the same model of drop tower I think (it’s insurance you breath wrong it goes up and they will fight tooth and nail to never pay out).
@@ninjagirl226 Not only was it poor training, but from what I heard it was further modified to let larger guests sit in it then the manufacturer intended. Insurance is based on overall statistics and costs, especially for larger liabilities like theme parks. The fact someone died on 2 different drop rides recently will surely effect their rates to the point that some parks may not install them going forward. Insurance (getting sued) is the #1 reason risky things aren't being offered as much anymore.
@@supremefan To me that just sounds like oh this one ford focus had issues because the owner modified it and it blew up so now we’re going to raise rates on everyone with a ford focus. To try to make an analogy of it.
But like I said insurance you breath wrong and they raise rates. My sister’s just did because she was in a hit and run accident and she has proof it wasn’t her fault (truck side swiped her off the road). Heck watch insurance not even pay out; my dad died in a plane crash and the insurance policy wouldn’t pay out because plane crashes aren’t considered accidents. 🥲
I have low opinion on insurance if you can’t tell. So I can believe you; it’s just logically it doesn’t quite make sense in my head because insurance.
@@ninjagirl226 Auto Insurance and Theme Park insurance are two completely different things. But that is exactly how theme parks are treated by insurance companies. When a theme park closes it's usually due to them not being able to afford to continue paying for insurance. I agree Insurance companies are a scam!

@airtimeaxolotlthoosie they could place this somewhere else. I know they have rides in its spot. But that doesn’t mean they couldn’t add this somewhere else.

Cost is most likely a factor, whether new or retrofitting an existing tower. I'm frankly over these tower drop rides and I suspect many parks may be as well. If what you already have keeps your customers happy then why bother.
