crawfordperfor...
What is up you guys! This is the first episode of our new crosstrek build series, brought you guys by Crawford Performance! We are excited to work alongside Crawford on this Crosstrek build! They have been in the Subaru Game for a while and are very knowledgeable of the vehicles. All products are high quality and speaking from experience of puting one of these lift kits on our crosstrek, it is very very good stuff. We hope this video brings you joy and good vibes.
This video is intended for those seeking a new lift kit for their crosstrek. Crawford Performance is the only company making one solid piece strut spacer. We genuinely love the product and looking forward to doing a long term review over time. So stay tuned and keep on trekking!!!

Thanks for the entertainment. Sitting here 3000+ miles away drinking some bourbon and smoking a fine D.R. cigar. Wanting to lift my 16 Crosstrek. Best after install video I've seen. Great camera work!!!
Thank you!!
Love the video. Unfortunately gotta wait till my warranty runs out before any cool mods.
a lot of subaru dealers will install LP Adventure mods and honor warranty. they are more expensive than competition but that is why.
Actually LP Aventure products are NHTSA rated and tested so they are approved products from Subaru. So that's why they are able to honor the warranty as long as the dealer installs them.
great to see a new vid of Crosstek doing some 4WD
Here at the end with your tire floating in the air, just open up the back, toss a couple body's inside, and drive. That would have given you a little clearance in front to proceed. Sedona AZ has a road called Shnebly hill, spelling is off I'm sure. I would have never made it up with the car I had. We came in from the dirt road on the other side. Now. down, 4hrs. in a Ford Edge! What a chess game that was. Pink jeep tours, and folks in trucks and jeeps, all stopped to ask why we were doing this. The only damage was small semicircle cuts to the front tires. Drove that thing another 1200 miles with no issues. RENTAL, dropped off in Whitefish, Mt. There are video of that road.
been meaning to take this trail, seems chill but fun, if you choose the right lines. Got the 3 full skids now so definitely this month. Awesome seeing the difference in the tires.
Definitely brother! let me know if you have any questions. I was able to do this trail with the outback when it was stock. the part where we got stuck was the hardest part but you could always drive carefully around it. It is rocky so just have a friend to spot and keep an extra out out for ya.
Great video! Another option for me to consider for my lift.
Thank you! I hope you do keep them into consideration. So many good lift kits out there! What we do like about em is the single billet aluminum construction. Super solid and lighter than steel.
I have the new Sport Crosstrek I bought some 17 inch Method wheels this is the capability I'm looking for thanks fo the inspiration!
can't wait to get mine !!
Love it, great video, very inspiring
Haha I honestly thought y’all were gonna announce she’s pregnant. But lift kit is good news too.
I love your channel. Keep doing what you are doing. I wish I could also live in the US. Greets from Germany brother.!
Thank you very much!
12:51 If you would have taken down the other end of the control arm you'd get far more leverage to push it back into place. Wouldn't even need a jack, you can just muscle it into place and stick a line-up bar into the bolt hole to hold it until you get the bolts in.
@12:51 we were removing the strut not puting it back in. And yes later in the video we loosened the control arm to gain more leverage. And we explained that further down in the video. Why would you muscle it when you can use a jack? That's like saying you shouldn't use power tools use hand tools only and muscle it. Anytime you want to muscle it can lead to injury. So I prefer the jack 👍
@@therootedprogress Sorry, I guess I didn't make myself clear. I linked that timestamp as you were taking down the control arm so I had a reference to say you could have taken the other side down to get the shock out. You took it down near the wheel at the timestamp. If you took it down on the other side you'd have much more leverage when you go back together with it later. That would put you on the long end of a second-class lever, that makes it so easy to push into place that you don't need the jack.
It looks good. However, it the rear you should have unbolted the rear control arm at the center of the car. Not at the break.
Thanks man 👍 either way works. 🙂
I’m going to buy this lift kit for my 2017 Subaru Impreza
Do it you won't be disappointed
Nice!
Nice personalised rego number “AJ DELA CRUZ” .
any plans to add a rear strut tower bar? or similar to keep the back hatch area of the car stiff during uneven obstacles? Even for casual on-road use, a rear strut bar (or X-brace) would keep the rear rigid and minimize creaks and body flexing. Does Crawford make a rear X-brace?
Great video guys!!
I hope they have this lift for My17 model yr.
They should have what you need 🤟
Awesome video, that Crosstrek suits that wheel and tyre combo so well! No subframe spacers needed?
Surprisingly no subframe spacers were needed. And thank you for watching brother!
@@therootedprogress it might be that the rear being 1.5” (according to the Crawford website) is within the threshold? Good looking kit though!
Just ordered a 2023. :D
Yasssss 🙌 awesome #subiefam
Thanks yall. Love the video. Looks like a great kit. How many miles do you think the car has logged since the install and any problems with with alignment? Thanks again.
Hi Jeremy! We haven't logged too many miles yet on this lift kit. Definitely needs an alignment post lift. Have not gotten one yet. Car owner has been working from home for a bit now so it hasn't really been necessary yet. We're waiting on new wheels and tires before alignment. Till then we won't have any updates or info on alignment problems.
Great vid! One question tho. Why was it not necessary to add sub frame spacers?
Subaru axles can tolerate up to 2inchs of lift. Anything greater than two inches you would need to add subframe spacers to correct the cv angle so your axles last longer. Granted having a two inch lift will create more wear and tear but 3 inch with no subframe spacers... you'll blow through axles.
what kind of mpg are you getting with the lift and tires?
Woah so cool 😂
Great
What was the tire size after the lift?
Which brand are those traction boards? I have seen a few ones but with horrible reviews on cracking on the first use 😮 Nice video though 👍🏻😎
x-bull.
Try maxtrax brand. If you haven’t get one. And the length should not be shorter than 1metre.
I wonder if the wilderness could handle this trail.
Ohhh ya most definitely. It'd be too easy for the wilderness.
I did it stock in a 2002 Subaru outback. This trail is actually easy just gotta take the right lines. But doable for any Subaru
ruclips.net/video/kakrJgG4Pg8/видео.html
Good stuff!! The offset on your wheels looks great!!
Thanks buddy. It's nice to have similar bolt patterns and trade wheels to see how each other likes em.
How many miles from installation? Any damage to drive shafts (axles)?
At time of install we were around 90k miles on original axles.
At around 125k we have now needed to have them replaced.
That's with daily driving and occasional light offroading.
Ya you went over a speed bump😅😅😅
🤣🤣 speed bumps are all relative... haha
If I have a WRX, would I ever be able to create the same amount of ground clearance?
Not as much but you could get a decent amount of ground clearance relative for it's platform. 4inch lift kit would prolly get it to around the same ground clearance. But it will prolly make u need to drop your subframe and extend some lines.
I have the crawford performance 2" lift kit with suspension spacers. My rubber spacers are loose and causing squeaking over bumps. crawford performance won't answer me. Anyone k ow how this can be fixed ?
What are your referring to in regards to rubber spacers?
The 2inch lift kit from Crawford is billet aluminum not rubber and is a suspension spacer. So it sounds like you have additional spacers added to the kit?
@@therootedprogress yea I have the sub-frame drop kit on aswell. The rubber spacers from that are loose and squeaking.
@@NicCamp093 but the subframe spacers from Crawford are also billet aluminum. So they shouldn't be squeaking and shouldn't be rubber. Are your referring to your oem bushings?
Where exactly is the noise coming from?
@@therootedprogress this all the info I have right now, I will have to get the mechanic that installed it to look into it.
@@NicCamp093 yaaa double check with them. I've never heard of subframe spacers or regular strut top spacers to cause squeaking.
I know that when they are loose, they make rattling sounds and clunking noises over bumps.
I'd double check your brake components and that everyone is nice and tight (to torque specs)
This up in the high desert or
More silverwood lake area

Info in description
Are you guys in san diego? I’m getting a crosstrek next month. We should link up. I’m in north county.
Great video by the way.
Yess! We're in San Diego. We'd love to. Just hit us up on Instagram
@@zlion71 thank you!
When do you get an orange cross trek
It's was my homies crosstrek haha 😄
Is this Subaru 2.5 liter engine or 2.0 liter engine ?
2.0L engine. Fb20
Jesús that made me so nervous to watch hahah
The last part?
no subframe spacer ?
No need for subframe spacers with two inch lift. Anything greater than two inches you need subframe spacers.
235 was there any rub on normal driving?
We've had these tires on our outback for over a year now so I'm sure we've gotten rid of some tread during that time. 235/75/15 fits used with minimal rubbing to fender liners.
I do know other crosstreks that have ran this size with brand new tires and 1-2 inches of lift. They rub on the fender liners. So if that's something that concerns you, look into 225/75/15 or go with 215/75/15 ☺️
Thanks!!! I’ll be using my car as a daily with very little off roading I just wanted “the look” so maybe I’ll just stick with a lift and smaller tires
@@chad38007 Niiice. That's perfectly fine then. Go with the 215/75/15 that's easiest on the tranny and best overall tire for off-road ability and city driving dynamics along with best relative gas mileage. You'll have a drop mpg but not as bad if you had a 235/75/15 tire
Trim needed?
Limited CVT Crosstrek
I’ll be honest I was clenching
What trail is that??
2N02 burns canyon
4:03 where is this?
Burns canyon. There's a nice open area right in the middle of the trail.
@@therootedprogress thanks for the info! gonna try these trails! just need to find a crew that's willing to go lol
@@franz9256 no problem! Any rig should be able to get through the trail. Earlier in the video we were pushing it to see how much harder, not having a lift would affect the performance. The part where we got stuck is the hardest part for a stock Subaru but I can drive around it.
Subaru's are not off road vechiles. A lift would be good for deeper snow perhaps, but face it...these are highway, graded road rigs. 😢
All these video's of rock crawling Subaru's are comical....
Like and subscribe for more comical awd rock crawling 😉
All else fail, do it Pinoy style!
Another way to shorten the life of your drive train. Good luck
Keeping the wheels and tires close to stock does help. So we downsized the wheels to 15inch diameter. Benefit is that you stay relatively close to stock but still able to add enough sidewall to air down more aggressively.
