Seriously cool stuff!! Best of luck, Keep on doing cool and amazing things! I like how you try to help people with your skills and passion. MIT would be a fool to not admit you.
Think you did a good job. For an undergrad student I think you showers a lot of effort in solving a problem that’s usually tackled at the masters level

Nice work! I felt the video was a little too fast so I had to lower the playback speed. Other than that amazing work! What are your career goals? Do u plan to be an ml researcher in the future?
Hii! I'm an international high schooler rn (14) and watching your video is just so inspiring...I literally spent an hour reading your paper on suicidal vs. depression and the github codes (even though my current abilities only let me understand 30% of it). I'm also planning to do AI in the future and just finished Andrew Ng's ML courses, and I'm really curious on your path of learning and implementing all these insane stuffs during high school..I'm a complete self learner, and it would be really helpful if you can briefly tell me the path on how you learned about all these! Thanks!!
For sure! I started by doing some basic hackathon projects where I learned how to use pytorch and the fundamentals of deep learning, CNNs, and some of the popular models of the time (a world before LLMs and large generative models lol). Then I started naturally reading papers, and one thing lead to another and I was able to get an opportunity to work on a research project. I think you are already on a good start, there’s lots of research online to learn about any of these topics. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any more questions
@@ayaanhaque1444 Thank you so much for replying, if you dont mind, could you please share the link to some of the best video(s) to get started? Sorry to bother you.
i have playlists on my channel if u want to learn. not structured or anything though. Just go down the youtube recommendation rabbit hole and you'll find cool stuff
This might me too personal but may I know the reason why you got waitlisted? This profile is absolutely amazing and I couldn't think of any reason to not say yes?
The admissions office doesn't give any feedback as to why I got waitlisted. MIT is an incredibly competitive school so a waitlist for me is a pretty good result anyway
@@ayaanhaque1444 I understand. Ive seen them rejecting a few Internatinal Olympiad winners in my country. Tough crowd to impress. Did you apply to any other schools? Stanford, CMU, Berkeley etc... They also have good programs in ML & DL as far as I'm concerned
hmm I've seen people less qualified than you get into MIT, why do you think they wait listed you? Do you think there's something better you could have done in your application?
No idea, it’s a super competitive school so I was happy with a WL. I didn’t do any competitive math though, and MIT tends to take lots of top math kids

Glad to know that someone out there working for Bangladeshi eyecare system development...
Amazing! Inspiring!! Makes me me want to do great things myself

I think you have a great potential. Why MIT doesn't offer an admission to you? Is there anything that was not good during your application?
Maybe because he is an international student. It is really hard for international students to get in compared to in-country students.
i am not international LOL, born and raised in the bay area. MIT is hella competitive.

Are these guys like fresh out of high school or something? How are they are smart?
Yup lol, I'm a senior in high school right now. All this work was done in high school. Thanks for the support!
It's not about being smart. If you want to learn how to do something, just do it. There are so many resources that you can use to learn new things.
