Another great vid, Dana. You are so sweet with the cats. Never stayed in Positano because of the crowds and the stairs, so thank you for taking me around. Headed to the coast in June of 2024, can you believe we have to make our hotel reservations a year out just so we can get the rooms we want. Your dresses are so pretty on you. Also, may I suggest you stop for lunch at La Conca del Sogno it's a pretty restaurant in Nerano. I think they have a hotel too
Thanks for watching! Yes, it is so crazy to have to book so far in advance! This has always been the case since I have been visiting the coast. I am definitely going to explore more of Nerano next visit. This time we went to Nerano and only went to Il Cantuccio for lunch but I have heard great things of Conca del Sogno.

So beautiful. We were there in May we visited after a cruise we were on and stayed in Amalfi. We experienced the rainy, cloudy May everyone is talking about but still made the best of it. Love your videos and your outfits definitely inspired my wardrobe when we visited! 😁
Thank you! Yes, you always have to make the best of it and it can put a damper on a visit but it is still beautiful even in less than desirable weather.

I could watch your videos all day. My husband and I were there last May for 5 days and it just brings me right back.
One question…have you ever been to La Tagliata restaurant? It’s an AMAZING place high in the hills. You have to catch a shuttle much like the one you took in this video. It is so much fun and the food is amazing!

Positano is amazing and is becoming even more expensive. I miss Gippy's hospitality.❣️ The sunbeds will probably cost 50e on the next year. I am travelling to Capri after next week, and just can't wait. That long dress with Roses is just the piece of art. I dont know how you survived all the stairs to Nikki&Carlo. I believe it is a nightmare to walk there on a hot day. 😂

I love watching your videos, so informative and fun! Can I ask you, do you need to book lunch places or can they seat you for lunch? we are only daytripping and don't want to be locked in, just in case our kids prefer to stay at the beach longer. Thanks!
Thank you! To be completely honest, this is not the most flexible destination for dining etc. especially for sit down restaurants. In my experience, some of the not so great restaurants especially by the main beach area and takeaway/snack spots are the most flexible. I hope this helps!

We were in Positano in May for a week. You are so right, you can not trust the weather app!
It is so true! The weather app is not accurate the locals just go day by day and it can change in an instant or later in the the day/evening.

I’ll be in Positano late summer and your videos have been very helpful. Do you find Fornillo beach to be warmer than the main beach? If so, is it because there is less of a breeze? Thanks
Yes, it is a smaller beach and kind of tucked in a bit. So yes, there is less of a breeze but nothing significantly different. However, this is not exclusive to Positano.

Hi Dana, first of all I love your vlogs all of them! My favorites right now are all of the ones in Italy because we have a 10 day cruise coming up in October that leaves from Civitavechia and returns to Civitavechia after. We have one day before the cruise and 9 days after the cruise that we are staying in Rome so I’m loving all of the Italy vlogs and making notes on all the places we want to go to and restaurants to try!!! Thank you for all of the beautiful and informative videos!!! I have a question if you don’t mind and have a moment that you can let me know. I was wondering what you guys do for internet & cell phone service when you travel to Italy? Thank you so much in advance and happy travels!!! 😊
Thank you so much! I hope you have an amazing time on the cruise and visit Europe. Personally, we use an unlocked Iphone and buy a local sim card through TIM (Italian cell phone service provider) and purchase the Tourist plan. You can purchase a SIM card in an airport (most expensive option) or any port city/major Italian city during your travels.
There are other options such as e-sims, your current cell phone provider may have an international data plan. But thats just what WE do and what works for us when WE travel to Italy. I hope this helps!

@@alinasimmons1361 You can get an E-sim that works in Europe (not just Italy) ahead of time. I have not done this since I like to have a local sim from the company TIM the largest provider in Italy and has great service on the Amalfi Coast. But if you want to do it in advance you can google e-sim cards for Italy. Please note, this may be a more costlier option depending on the one you go with.

Hello! my daughter and I are visiting Italy next summer and are so excited, I. love your videos! I booked the Venus B & B for our stay in Positano. I plan to get a private transfer from Naples, will they be able to drop us close to entrance or will it be a big walk w/stairs with all the luggage? Just trying to prepare. We will be going beginning of June, do you know how the crowds and weather will be? We will be spending 5 days in Paris before and 5 In Rome after. Thank you so much for all your information! No, I have not ever been. Of course, I know of it. Honestly, when I am in Positano it’s definitely for relaxation. I live in NYC so lots nightlife there and events that I go to.

Positano looks beautiful! Visiting in 2024, and looking to stay at Venus Inn too. What are the washroom situations like? I saw that online years ago people mentioned a tight and small shower curtain, do you have a room there you prefer to stay in?
Hi there! I love your videos, my wife and I were super stoked. We got there May 15th... it was raining... the entire time. It was so miserable, we left 3 days early onto our next vacation spot in Ireland. I know the weather is finicky -- is it always that rainy in May? I didn't think it was! Don't know if we'll be going back anytime soon, but just thought to flag it and see if you have ever encountered bad weather during May.
Hi Nathan, thanks for watching and your comment. Firstly, want to let you know that we used to go in May and stopped for this reason. We have had some great visits in May and some not so great visits in May aka a mix of good and not so good weather with less crowds and better prices.
Please note, I was not there in May I was there in June this year (2023). No, it is not always that rainy in May many locals have said that May 2023 was one of the worst May in terms of weather in years.
As always, shoulder season can be hit or miss for any destination. If your budget (and patience) permits consider June.
Also, curious to know how was the weather in Ireland in June? Was it any better and worth leaving Positano earlier?
@@DanaBerez It didn't rain once while we were in Ireland and it was actually quite warm / muggy and grey out. 😆
Pro-Tip: If you ever go to Dublin -- DO NOT STAY AT "The Dean" in Dublin.. but.. DO STAY at "The Dean" in Galway.
And avoid "The Shelbourne" - the AC didn't work.. it was like sleeping in an oven.
I love your travel videos. Do you work for a tour company ? Where do you get your info on Italy. Plans trip to amalfi coast next year!
Hi Angie, I do not work for a tour company. I have been visiting the Amalfi Coast every year for the past 5 years with the exception of 2020. I have been here enough times to not necessarily have to plan or do a ton of research (another reason why I revisit here and other places).
I decide on a time of year to visit, book my accommodation almost a year out. Then I book my flight in the early winter. Then I start creating a tentative itinerary and do a rough itinerary based on things I want to do, see and places I want to eat, day trips if any etc. Happy to make a video on this if you are interested. Also, highly recommend watching my other Amalfi Coast and Capri videos and start taking some notes. I hope this helps!

@@angiegreen7225 If you are looking for a hands-off approach to traveling and don't have a lot of free time to plan and deal with logistics, then a travel company is a great route to go. I have never used one so I cannot speak on that. However, I will say that planning on your own does take a considerable amount of time, but it is nice to be on your own time and do exactly what you want rather than be with a group and have a rigid itinerary.

I was about to ask this as well and checked if someone else had already asked lol I always struggle with this on public beaches when we both want to go in at the same time!
Thank you! It was lovely to see her again. We don't we just watch it from the water. I've overheard a few people ask nearby tourists or people sitting on the beach if they can watch their stuff and return the favor.
yeah we both go in at the same time to be honest and never had an issue.

I have a bathingsuit like the one you are wearing in your first beach outing, and although I love it on, I"m always not wanting to wear it for fear of polkadot tan "lines."
