What an adventure your life is! I love your story. Your pets are adorable. It's awesome that your daughter is perfectly bilingual. My mother tongue is Spanish (I'm Argentinian) and I speak English as a second language. I have to work on my accent. I understand a bit of Italian (because of its similarity to Spanish) but I am sure the local Positano dialect must be so difficult and super hard to understand. I love languages and travelling but I find it hard to do it as often as I would like to. Italy is definitely in my bucket list...

I travel to Italy usually about once a year, have done for about 8 years now, and my husband and I actually lived there for 6 months in 2013/2014, mostly in the town of Minori. I actually just returned from a trip to the Amalfi Coast with a friend less than two weeks ago. It calls me back time and time again! There was a wedding in Ravello the day we walked up there. Hi, just discovered your channel. I’m an American in Paris, having met a Frenchman years and years ago, whose best friend’s daughter got married about four years ago in... Positano! Wonder if you did the wedding? It was beautiful, despite the unseasonable morning to night thunderstorm! I was so impressed with the wedding organizers, who sprang into action and managed to have spur of the moment towels, flip-flops and tenting waiting for 150 people when they ended their climb to the villa where it was held. Fell in love with your town and it’s people. Just subscribed.
I have been to the Amalfi coast twice, one of my favourite places! Did the Path of the Gods both times - pretty hard going - esp all the steps back down into Positano!! So happy to have found your channel - my dream is to live part-time in Italy - just need to persuade my husband 😆
I've wondered how you ended up permanently in Italy since I came across your insta! I first went to Italy when I was 14, then insisted we go twice a year every year until I moved to Milan myself after college. I only stayed a year, but always planned to go back when I was a bit older and settled ( I was missing England by the time I came home) then my sister met her Italian now Husband and moved there herself, so now I get to visit many times through the year and get the best of both worlds! Italy is such a beautiful place. If you love it, you love it forever. I haven't been to the south yet, but I long to! To be, honest, I thought you were in your 20s until you mentioned you had a daughter in another video. You look great! Your videos are so lovely, Thanks for posting!

We were there 5 years ago too, but this time we have a valuable added resource in our Positano preparations; your videos. Everyday life videos from Positano are in fact very inspiring and increase our anticipation greatly, so a heartfelt mille grazie is in order! Also, the technical quality of your videos has increased dramatically in the last few months, to the ironic point that you now potentially contribute to an increased flow of tourist into Positano yourself. («Ironic» because you somewhere stated that what you like the least about Positano are the crowds of tourists ...) Please don't let that stop you from doing what you're doing; I for one love it, and you may even risk that I thank you personally should we bump into you! (I'll thank Holly, at the very least ...)

Positano is beautiful, visited it about 8 years ago, we stayed in Sorrento. I would love to come back again, it is very touristy in July/August. Wee Holly is beautiful, so happy she has found a loving home with you and Carlo. Italian is a lovely language. 🇬🇧

I had to find this video again as something said got into my head. Don't worry about Skye being bilingual and occasional mixed use of language. Italian and English are different enough to delineate. My parents were Polish and Russian and there are similarities. I was born and raised in Australia and I spoke what I thought was Polish until I was of school age and continued to speak "Polish" and home with some English and English at school and in public. Life goes on and in your teens and twenties you establish your own social and professional life. You see less of your parents and when they converse with you, you understand what they are saying although you occasionally notice one parent uses a slightly different words to convey what they are saying. You think nothing of it as you know what they are saying. Then the embarrassment happens you meet a native Polish couple and you start talking to them in "Polish", and they give each other sideways looks ??? and you don't quite understand why this is. They then speak and there are gaps in your own understanding of the words they are using. And there it is... It dawns your parents were speaking a mix of Polish and Russian roughly 60/40%. Now I don't know what I'm speaking is the word I've just uttered Russian or Polish. That's confusing.🙂

I remember many, many years ago I was blogging and stumbled upon Annika's blog, and then yours ~ and it was actually after reading one of your posts that I called my cousin and told her we had to book our tickets to Positano - and we did! I was 20 and it was one of the most magical trips I've ever taken, now Im impatiently waiting for the opportunity to return with my husband. I love your story... I am with a Hispanic I have always been attracted to languages, but do not think I am fluent in any of them... I do understand a little of Italian Spanish , French, and German... but my tongue doesn't always respond properly :) It is so awesome how you each shared your language with your daughter... what a lovely life you all have! So much beauty everywhere and a wonderful place to live.

I’ve found them to be a wonderful escape, as well as a helpful guide. Thanks for making them! One question.... I’m wondering if you would suggest staying in Positano vs. Praiano? I know you’re probably partial to Positano, haha! I’ve heard that Praiano may be less crowded. Thanks!

Positano is beautiful, visited it about 8 years ago, we stayed in Sorrento. I would love to come back again, it is very touristy in July/August. Wee Holly is beautiful, so happy she has found a loving home with you and Carlo. Italian is a lovely language. 🇬🇧

geez Carlo was a hottie! what a great life you've had since moving there! SOME DAY I will get there! Rome is the closest I've been, and the northern parts from milan to Venice...I would move to Italy in a heart beat if the opportunity arose. I love the part where you say "there is more to Positano than the beach:" and then a second later "I just got to the beach" LOL.

I had to find this video again as something said got into my head. Don't worry about Skye being bilingual and occasional mixed use of language. Italian and English are different enough to delineate.
My parents were Polish and Russian and there are similarities. I was born and raised in Australia and I spoke what I thought was Polish until I was of school age and continued to speak "Polish" and home with some English and English at school and in public. Life goes on and in your teens and twenties you establish your own social and professional life. You see less of your parents and when they converse with you, you understand what they are saying although you occasionally notice one parent uses a slightly different words to convey what they are saying. You think nothing of it as you know what they are saying. Then the embarrassment happens you meet a native Polish couple and you start talking to them in "Polish", and they give each other sideways looks ??? and you don't quite understand why this is. They then speak and there are gaps in your own understanding of the words they are using. And there it is... It dawns your parents were speaking a mix of Polish and Russian roughly 60/40%. Now I don't know what I'm speaking is the word I've just uttered Russian or Polish. That's confusing.🙂
