- The demolition of Fiddlers ferry could start this year,as early as June 2021,Demolition will see explosives bring down the famous cooling towers,and could take up to 40/50 months to be completed,

i think those kind of things are iconic on the landscape just a pity they have to be demolished

Unfortunately greener is better for the U.K. I guess, but yeah it’s iconic for the area
@@iancank I wish they would replace it with a wind or solar farm, no doubt it will become another shopping block or a crushed together housing estate or something
I wish they would allow some to record the inside/document how this place worked before its gone forever
U must be mad leaving here they said ,as i left Fidlers after my aprentisship this is a job for life , for most of the older ones it was too . Never thought I would outlive somthing that big and powerful , my grandad Charly Lightfoot worked there too on the construcktion . sad to hear that its over ,

Hiya Jamie, unfortunately not, I did have a date but that’s now pass, they rumour of it being thus June/July, but nothing set, soon as I know I’ll update on here
