I have always loved these eye puzzle blankets. Thanks for making it accessible to me as a crocheter!
I adore you and your tutorials. This one left me wanting more information. I would have liked to see how you handled the middle of the third join. You stopped just short of that. I would have liked for you to explain the full layout a little more. How do the blocks line up relative to each other? How to measure the blocks to approximate how many you need for the size blanket you want? You usually explain more. I love this type of almost quilt blanket.
I agree, i am struggling with it
I agree with you. He stopped too early in the video. I need more.
I also wished there was more. I started this but ended up taking it apart since the blocks just didn't line up correctly.
I love this pattern. Between you and Crystal (BOD) my to - do list keeps increasing! Thanks for the video! 😊✌🐑
Right
Love the optical illusion effect.
Love you Fiber Spider! I must try this! Ive made two projects from your vids. You're an excellent teacher!
So cool, thanks for sharing your fantastic work.
Thank you. Picking the colors will be fun. Beautiful afghan.
Awesome work Love Love love it
Very nice! I would have liked to have seen the diamond placement layout explained, but I assume it would make sense once you get started.
you are my most favorite designer and you take the time to do every step and I like that
Thank you so much as we can actually learn from you, also thank for speaking instead of music.
Absolutely amazing, you are so clever, I love watching your tutorials.Thankyou ❤
Gracias, me suscribo a los 20 segundos de ver tu diseño! Saludos y bendiciones desde la CDMX en mi México lindo y querido
Inusual y perfecto! Me viene cómo caído del cielo! Y gracias por los subtítulos en español.Soy🇪🇦
LOVE IT…WILL BE CONSTRUCTING ONE IN THE FUTURE…AND YOUR SOUND EFFECTS ARE AMAZING…😂😂😂😂….
This is absolutely beautiful
Your tutorials are so good and love your designs have made many of your blankets x much love from the U.K
Very cool and that join looks super secure, as well. I do a lot of scrappy blankets for donation and can't wait to try this.
It reminds me of the game Q-Bert from back in the day. ❤😊
YES lol... I might make one in those colors if I can find them 😂
Love this 🤗 thank you for sharing. I always wanted to try a illusion crochet blanket pattern🩵
Looks very very beautiful❤❤
Just came across this video and was so excited to try this. Got the first 3 diamonds together with the half and then I don’t know where to go from there??? I guess just keep making these 3 diamond sections…then how do I join them all together? I would like to have an idea how to keep going… Thanks for your awesome directions!!!
Hi Fiber Spider....I was wondering if you would show how you put the diamonds together to make the illusion pattern. I can kind of tell by looking at the finished project ...but if you could explain which colors to put beside each other. I appreciate this entire video and all the hard work you put into it. thank you
I was thinking that when I make this, I would draw out the pattern on graph paper, so I have a guide. That might help you too.
If you do, please share! Thanks!!
Hope this helps. This is how I mapped this out and I am making right now. Hope this comes across clear.
First do all the light color blocks in full ,do all 4 rounds. I then linked them on the tips with stitch markers to make a long 'chain'. This holds them in place as I work the medium and dark shades in the join as ypu go method.
I then start with the darker color working up the final round on all sides but one, which I then do as the join as you go against the lightest color edge. I move onto the medium color where I do 2 sides then join as I go to the dark as well as the light sides. So now a single block is formed. For the next block set-Again start with dark shade but this time youll do final round on 2 sides and join as you go along both the medium shade side and top light side. The medium will be the same as first block.
In the second and beyond rows I do same method other than needing to do the join as you go along three sides this time not just two ...the bottom(to light shade) will be joined as well.
Basically if you start with full blocks on the light shade you can work in rows joining them all as you go. The half blocks would be on the sides.
Really hope this made sense and helped❤
I’m just using Craig’s picture of the Blanket…in the beginning, as a guide! 🎯😳🫣
You are so off the chain so different and fun compared to most. Live it thank you again 🎉❤
Hi Craig, love this blanket
🥰 love it. Can’t wait to to crochet it. Thanks
Thanks 😊! Adding to the list of things I want to do
Very interesting spider
Que lindo❤❤❤
Looks great! 😁
Super, super ultra cool ❤
I’m so excited to try this pattern for myself 🥹 this is absolutely gorgeous! ❤️ ps- anyone else a lil neurospicy? If so, is the sound of the wooden hook against the yarn scratching a weird part of your brain?
Omg that looks amazing 💕😘
i take it this joining technique would work with any granny square pattern, right? if so, that would be epic!
So cool!!!
Is there a guesstimate on amount of yarn needed for the size shown?
How many skeins of yarn do you suggest?
❤
aka Q*bert blankie!!! 🤣🤣😍😍😎😎 Love it!
This is super cool Craig…thank you so much for this.😊🧶❤️
Being lefthanded I am having trouble following you on the joining thingy. Do you have lefthanded instructions?
I have spent hours and hours trying to figure out how to join a third and fourth diamond but can’t. I am giving up and am very sad. This looks like a really cool blanket. Being left handed doesn’t help. :-(
Beautiful pattern, thank you. I love the optical illusion. ❤😊🎉 Are you using a 6mm crochet hook? Thanks
Yup it's a 6mm or J hook. You can use whatever works best for you new based on your gauge and tension.
@@FiberSpider thank you :)
Hi,spider I make 3 diamonds which you showed on RUclips but I don't understand how to join the forth diamond
I am a bird creating neasts😊❤
Do you by any chance have this pattern written down anywhere?
Can’t get the 3rd join grr……it’s the only side you didn’t video assuming, I guess, that everyone knew what you were talking about. I have tried so many times to connected the 2nd half of the last triangle but it just doesn’t work out. I really do love this block but have unwillingly abandoned it. So annoyed as I was going great guns until the centre last connection (dark Green) I don’t think being 83 years is helping… brain power very low that’s why following the video was great x
I agree. I ran into the same stumbling block. The dark triangle is off by one side. To connect it you need to end half way through on the Treble increase part. But I cant figure out how to start it so the 2 unfinished sides that you connect are free. Would love further guidance from Fibre Spider on this.
Going To? Is there a physical store ypu can shop at? Where is it located?
سلام خداقوت ممنون از آموزشها و خلاقیت
امکانش هست آموزش مدلی که ارسال میکنم رو صفر تا صد بهم بدین روتختی هستش
how do you figure out how many block would be needed for a twin blanket?
It really depends on various factors - yarn weight, hook size, gauge, and how big you make your initial diamonds. Too many for me to be able to give any kind of definite answer. Go for it and have fun 👍
Do yoi have the pattern?
Thank you Spider for showing us how to do this project from start to finish❣️
You are a very good teacher & easily to follow, especially for the elderly like me❣️
We truly appreciate you🙋🏻♀️💜
Wow!!! This is so super cool looking!!!!!!
How many skeins of each & what is the finished size? Way cool looking.
I would love to know this also.
As always, you are an amazing crocheter and a wonderful teacher! I haven't seen you in a while, so I guess the algorithm has been messing with your videos lately. Nonetheless, here we are so let's look for some yarn! 😊
Craig, I absolutely love how this looks. Thank you so much for teaching an interesting and NOT boring pattern. Join as you go is a bonus! I just finished 2 of your log cabins using scrap yarn. Smooches! 😘 Be well and be safe.
You had me at "join as you go"! Thanks, Craig! I can't wait to try this one 😍
OMG this is ridiculously awesomely cool. You have done it again Mr. FIBER SPIDER 🕷 Thank you, I love ❤️ it.
You are a great teacher!!! Thank you for sharing!! -from a 71 year old grandma.
I love this pattern, it's really striking. But I'm really unsure about the joining method and sequencing the layout. Is it possible to get some clarification on this please?
You're still the best! Been watching and learning from you for years. Thanks for all your hard work. hugs and love from the Rocky Mountain West.
OMG!! This Spiderette is having a total ‘80’s arcade vibe flashback with this blanket! I cannot be the only one seeing the Qbert screen in this finished blanket. Thank you SO SO MUCH for giving me the PERFECT pattern for my SIL who collects vintage video games❣️❣️❣️
Ha, Qbert! I forgot about that.
I see it. 😂
So, now you have to find a Qbert amigarumi to go with the blanket. 😂
@@Ooobydoobydoo Oh my stars! That WOULD put it over the top, wouldn’t it? Hmmmmm, wonder if Elise can make a Qbert? Awesome idea - THANK YOU❣️❣️❣️
Oh geez it does remind me of Qbert! I loved playing that game!😊
Wow! So THIS is what you were hinting at in the happy mail video! 😅 Is this another quilt pattern adapted for crochet? 😲 I love the optical illusion! Thank you for the tutorial! 👏
Hmm... I'd have to have a picture of the whole pattern in order to make sure I pieced it together correctly. Any suggestions?
If you can screenshot the opening/closing of the video that could work. There are also a lot of Google images you can utilize. 😉
@@FiberSpider 👍
I do a little quilting, sewing, crochet and a little knitting, and I have always looked at this for the quilt pattern and thought I may one day give it a go, but not yet. This crochet is very eye-catching and very doable.
I am in love with this pattern, can you please advise how much yarn is required for a blanket please
You got my attention on the "no sewing together" 👏❤
The optical illusion makes me happy, and super love the join!
I may have missed it, but how large is the finished afghan and how many sleeps did you use? I love this and would love to give it a try.
How much yarn of each color and what size is it? Thank you!
Hi. That's awesome and love the colours. 😊
I just love this but I seem to have a block when it comes to joining . Wish you would have gone a little deeper into the joining. It's the third joining I seem to have a problem with. Thanks. You are amazing.
It may be a bit fiddly but anything that saves having to sew together is ok by me 😀 Can’t wait to get started but must finish something else first 🤪
How do you know which color diamond to attach to the next❓
I have always followed your instructions with great success.. but... I am in need of where to attach blocks after first three....🤔
Me too
I'm a Gen-X and played arcade video games. This reminds me of Qbert. I need to make this. 👍
It does look like Qbert!
You are amazing teacher Mr.Spire thank you for sharing your videos 😊
Parabéns, seu trabalho é maravilhoso. Gratidão por partilhar conosco. Amei!!!!❤
Great patron! Unfortunately struggling with the corners, I wish you also had shown how to fit 3 pieces together
OMG you always have the craziest designs! ❤❤❤
Connie again..is there a diagram on where to connect using the lite, med, and dark?
Im wondering same thing
this is my hobby while watching via You Tube. Your instructions are very easy to follow but I am quite disturb watching how you crochet. Its because your hands are trembling or its the camera. just concerned, sorry. from a 75 years old grandma. BTW, I've done some of your patterns, like granny squares star doilies, chevron table runners, shawl, bonnets, etc. I like your patterns. God bless
Craig you are an amazing creator. The most awesome illusions and you teach them so we all can make it roo. 😊 Thank you 🤗🙌❣️
Oh Craig! I am going to Herrschners Warehouse Sale next Thursday with my friend. Gonna get yarn for this project!!! Thank you so much for sharing. And to think, I found you last year to learn the knit beanie and you have propelled me into the craziness of crochet! My family just loves it!
OMG I must ask where you got your hook and whom makes it!?!?
I have the exact hook in the exact size and it was gifted to me by someone to whom Isn't in my life anymore. I MUST KNOW SO I CAN GET MORE!!! Please and ty. Hope to hear from you soon
Muy lindo felicitaciones. Sería bueno trad. Español o por lo menos dubtiyulod
Really need help with the joining part. Not quite enough info on video. Thanks so much.
Such a great tutorial! I've been wanting to try this pattern for forever, and this is amazing! Also love your voice, such a great tone!
I made a baby blanket using Glorious Granny- so beautiful! Now this is my favorite quilt pattern - again you speak to my heart. Thank you for your great instruction.
Ouch ❤ ame la aguja esta espectacular y el patron 👏👏👏 saludos desde Colombia de un hombre tejedor
My to do list got 4 going right now. Love your videos your great at them
😮 but what is after the 3rd diamond? How and where will I join the next? Thank you.❤
i love this design, but i am really struggling joining the diamonds in the corner, would love it if there could be a short tutorial for those. If you could show the continuation of the third diamond you attached, i know it would really help!
Love this pattern. I get how to make the motifs. But cant figure out how to place them and how many rounds to do for the join. Can anyone help me??
OMG I can't even get my brain around this one. ☺ Your visual 3-d is fantastic.
I'm a lefty and really confused how to join the blocks as a leftie....help lol
I can’t tell you how badly I want to do this blanket!!! I’ve never done granny squares before but this might get me to attempt them. LOVE IT!!!💜🫂💜
A wonderful tutorial! Looks amazing & well explained. Love your channel ❤️. Thanks for showing, cheers 🤗❤️🥰👏😍💕
Can you do a video for this blanket using Knitting instead of crocheting.
Can this method be done with a normal granny square blanket (join as u go)?
