They cut out on heat in the battery i think. Mine does that when I run it flat out. I use a few batteries when needing to run them for a long time, just let the others cool and go again.
Hi Scott, shane here. also living in auckland. i am going to buy a festool vacuum for my dewalt miter saw. just want to know how you conect the vacuum onto the drop saw, or any modification needed dont know weather your could find my message, i hope you can. thank you so much ...
Please tell me, many people in comments across internet told me one thing that is annoying with makita duc353. When you press power and u cut something, when you put it aside, after 5 seconds saw turns itself off, and you have to start it again constantly, if you are cutting something and moving cutted logs in same time. Can you start your chainsaw and put it aside to see, will it really turn itself off after 5 seconds. Why is this important for me ? - i am buying thiy chainsaw for my father. He is old and very very short tempered. If chainsaw will keep turning off after 5 seconds he will probably break it. I am very afraid he will break it cuz he has PTSD, he is war veteran. Thats why it matters to me so much
Congratulations on your 50K. I got my 1K today, 49 to go hahahaha. Great video again my friend. I like this project because i have been a garderer for 16 years and did a few projects simular like you do here.
try different batteries mine dosnt cut out till the batteries are close to flat and I have been cutting hardwood trees up to 15 20cm thick it won't go through those as fast but I can get down to 1 bar battery before it starts to cut out and I can still get a few more branches in before it quits. Ive been using mine for 3 years and really abused it but it keeps on going.
Is the double retaining wall to get around the height issue of a metre before you need a guard rail. Also I'm that guy....chainsaws don't have blades...
Scott if u used a flappy disk on the battery grinder it would of made cleaning up those posts much faster mate just a quick tip that is how the boat builder do it bc that is the fastest way of doing it
Being a leftie and owning a Makita track saw, it definitely works for left handed people. The thing you need to be mindful of is your body being close to the blade side of the saw, which can be an advantage. And don't be tempted to place your right hand below the work piece to support the off cut material, while cutting. Be careful.
Congrats on 50000. Not sure about contracter brand chainsaws. You can pick up a husky or a stihl with battery and charger for cheaper than just the Makita dewalt or milwaukee skins.
Get some chainsaw chaps and helmet with visor. It may seem overkill but even a little electric chainsaw can do some serious damage when it kicks back and you go in to your body.
Scott Brown Carpentry - thanks so much for the tip off! By the way, I am weighing up your method here vs. a railway sleeper method for a 1200mm x 5000mm wall. Hoping to put a bench into the plan of the wall, too. Any thoughts on best method or tops tips, please? Loving the channel by the way!
It's because you jam the chain. It's a cutout system to make sure the tool does not overheat. The chain needs to do the cutting. Pushing harder stops the chain from freely rotating.
The electric chainsaws need to be operated slightly different to convential ones. Not pushing too hard and keeping the chain speed high will increase the cutting speed and improve battery life.
You got 50,000 subscribers because you are a genuinely nice person. (Potter too) You are very creative. Your music choices are great. You do interesting projects. All that is missing is an interview with your girlfriend.
i bought one so i could "stealthy" cut wood at Sundays... Worked. The Neighbors did mention it, its around 90-103dB. The saw will not howl like a gas-driven machine. Dont buy the Husqvarna it has no good reviews. Makita rocks! Milwaukee too.
Groped this baby on the product shelf - unfortunately it's made of that shiny cheap-looking ABS plastic (same as their grass shear), not the sturdy reinforced nylon like most of their tools :(
Might the cut-out of the chainsaw be due to thermal throttling/management/protection of the motor windings/power-electronics? My Stihl does a similar thing when run hard doing continuous duty. Once cooled it goes fine again.
Love the videos. I’m doing a carpentry apprenticeship with my grandad in Australia. Watching your videos helps me learn all the tricks to the trade that I can bring to work
Maybe all 50k could show up at your place and watch you change a Makita battery on your drill. Then they all go home. LOL. Congratulations on your subscription rate.
I must say your the first carpenter I’ve seen in my 8 years as a carpenter with a van set up, I’m from Canberra Australia and every carpenter here has a 4x4 Ute and a 8x5 dual axle trailer
thanks man. next time tell gaston "hola hermano vamos por una birra" :D. you now officially take to the stadium more people than the blues. boom boom tisshhhh. hahahahaha. take care. pete

A bit late today with the comment...but VERRY EXCITED of the new episode of Scott Brown !!!! KEEP THEM COMMING SCOTT !!!!! 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩
You deserve 5 million my friend.. love the vids.. keep it up
Hello Mate, is that pressure treated material or something else? It looks nice!
Hey Scott. love the vids. How’s the Cordless sander going for you?

So man subscribers proves the quality of your vids mate.

Congratulations on the 50 thou subs. Yet another exciting episode.
What Will the Shed be Used For?
How thick are the boards you are using. Congrats on the subs
Is the double retaining wall to get around the height issue of a metre before you need a guard rail. Also I'm that guy....chainsaws don't have blades...
Why not leave the post tops angled for runoff of water or will they be capped somehow in the future? And congrats of 50K. It's all growth from here.
I usually angle mine.
He's putting a cap on the top as mentioned in the previous vid
If those batts are 3bars+ the saw is cutting out due to battery overheating. 30+ cuts back to back is quite a lot.
Thems is 6x6 posts right ?
you seen the new wet and dry makita hoover ?
Scott if u used a flappy disk on the battery grinder it would of made cleaning up those posts much faster mate just a quick tip that is how the boat builder do it bc that is the fastest way of doing it
Does the Makita track saw work for left handed people

17 posts?! did you not cut them all twice? (17 + 17 =34?)
Pistol Knight nah he only cut off the 2 long ones.. so 19 cuts if you want to be fussy..
Even if he cut them twice, it's still only 17 posts. 😁
He said “17 cuts” first. He said “17 posts afterwards”. The number of posts is irrelevant. Only the number of cuts matters.
Wasn’t it 18 1 by the van at 3.13
Congrats on 50000. Not sure about contracter brand chainsaws. You can pick up a husky or a stihl with battery and charger for cheaper than just the Makita dewalt or milwaukee skins.
How many roti should I eat in a day?
Get some chainsaw chaps and helmet with visor. It may seem overkill but even a little electric chainsaw can do some serious damage when it kicks back and you go in to your body.
These saws don't kick back, they cut out first.
Congratulations on 50K subs. Keep up the good work.
Cheers Scott Brown. We normally say howdy in Tennessee.
im gone for a week and you hit 50,000k SUBS, great job man.
I think I was your 50000th subscriber. No joke!!
I was his 50th - no joke!
Wow! That must have been over a year ago. How many subs have we got in that year :(
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I had more than him for ages.....(looks down and weeps)
Man I want to meet the guy with the Gold in the Truck..... - Vermont USA
Love the vids Scott already saving for a trip too New Zealand!
Hey Scott great video you are a inspiration
Can anyone tell this rookie (me, not Scott!) why tongue & groove a retaining wall? Looking to build one soon!
It helps prevent the boards from moving and twisting between posts. Also, helps stop the weeds growing through your wall 😁
Scott Brown Carpentry - thanks so much for the tip off! By the way, I am weighing up your method here vs. a railway sleeper method for a 1200mm x 5000mm wall. Hoping to put a bench into the plan of the wall, too.

On behalf of everyone who has subscribed: you're welcome 😁 thanks for being the Casey neistat of carpentry
Yeah boy! Congrats on 50k subs bro!
Where do you get your music for your videos?
50k already? Congrats bro!
Cutting out could be from the batteries getting too warm.
It's because you jam the chain. It's a cutout system to make sure the tool does not overheat. The chain needs to do the cutting. Pushing harder stops the chain from freely rotating.
@@paulhood66 chain did not jam.

Nice nice Scotty
Congrats on 50k Scott, but the van's looking a bit messy 🤔
Good stuff as per SB!
Fantastick . 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Scott.
Having only used a gasoline chain saw, the most interesting part of this one was the sound, yet you cut it off, Why? I wanted to see how quiet it is.
i bought one so i could "stealthy" cut wood at Sundays... Worked. The Neighbors did mention it, its around 90-103dB. The saw will not howl like a gas-driven machine. Dont buy the Husqvarna it has no good reviews. Makita rocks! Milwaukee too.
It is a chainsaw-BAR, not a "Blade" :-)
Love your videos.
All the best from Norway.
The bar is the part that the chain runs around.
Australian made tool belt👍 Is it a Buckaroo?
I hated mine. Capture bolts were cheap
Nice chainsaw chaps
Love you videos
I have both the 18v one handed Makita chainsaw and this 36v model. Both very handy, although they both cut out quite easily. Congrats on 50k subs!
Excuse me. In case of hard wood such as hickory. Which is best between a chain saw and a recipe saw?
@@suvijakengr3374 a chainsaw is always quicker.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Thanks 😊

Slick work , go SBC :)
I honestly thought you were joking when you said you were gonna cut the posts with a chainsaw 😜🤣
