Binged watch all your vids over the last couple of weeks awesome cous. Was having withdrawals cause I hadn’t watched one in two days. Keep it up boys thank you
I just love how you guys keep the work area so clean!
Wish all the tradies i get in cleaned up during and after too!
Bunnings here has those bags called pink skips I think, I have used them myself before. Pretty handy when you can't put a skip on a job because a crane truck can grab it over a wall or a hedge etc.
We need a chef Paerau special episode! C'mon scott, give the fans what they want!!
Love your work scott, I am a student at Unitec for carpentry, a few of my school mates are subscribed to you aswell.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAN
You guys have a carpenter school? I've only been to the school of hard knocks best thing about it they pay you while teaching!
Nice one, I went to Unitec too
I can’t wait to see New Zealand, it’s my goal in the next couple years, I’ve been learning The lingo from Scott and paueru.
Drop Saw
Scullery
Bearer
Smoko
And everyone’s favorite, the pronunciation of “deck” 😂🤣
Like I’ve said, Scott Brown, Insider Carpentry and Finish Carpentry TV are the best You Tube Channels 💯💯💯
My wife is aussie, so when i introduced her to my old man he goes to her "do you like my deck"? She was like 😳 what the bahaha😂
Doesn't matter if you are a cleaner or a carpenter, do good solid work with no mess and you will always have a good reputation.
As a homeowner, all that cleaning makes me giddy.
😂
In the US a pantry refers to a walk-in food storage area and scullery refers to an overflow kitchen (area where you may do food prep or wash dishes).
That's cause your 🏠 are huge!
It cant be good to inhale that pink sawdust
Curious, what happens after the fan sucks the greasy air under the house, Is there a vent to the outside? I didn't see one.
6:38 you’re welcome!
Why is the wood pink? is it treated wood? If so, why do you use treated wood for the interior?
At 5:30, why do you pull the saw across the surface of the wood before making the cut?
Just found this channel man this is great 😁
The pink framing makes me smile every time :D
I don't recall you mentioning it in the video or not. I was curious why the lumber is pink?
I know you have told us what kind of masks those are, but I am going to need to rewatch that episode so I can look one up to order for myself. I do a lot of sheet rock demo and that shit sucks to breathe.
Check the description of my videos for some links 👍
A scullery is where you wash up bro, its not a pantry! Hows the new drop saw going?
What happened to the joists?
I really don't like heavy miter saws. When I bought my bosch glider I thought it was a good idea.
Good work boys you make such a good team🎯💯
great way to take a wall out
great video as always, glad You made a video like this. I'm curious if your site is active?
8:19 what is a nog is it the wood which goes in between the vertical beams
Yeah, noggins or dwangs (maybe just a Scottish name).
@@gregorlow478 they're called dwangs in parts of NZ too - although I've only heard it to the South where more Scots ended up.
Scot when you get under that floor what happens if theres a snake or spider ? In the uk its not a problem but where you come from it could be deadly ?
lol - no snakes in New Zealand (just like Ireland) meanwhile in Australia: ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=australia+huntsman+spider
@@RichardPerfectKiwi There are huntsman spiders in avondale Auckland, that came over with a shipment of Australian hard wood. I live nearby and have never seen a live one. Christchurch has a big scary black one called a Christchurch spider surprisingly.
need me a scott brown shirt and jumper
I thought scullery’s had sinks in them
Palpac they should. Otherwise it is just a walk in pantry.
Why is the framing pink?
Ryan Nicklyn it’s from a female pine tree.
Ok we dont have any pink lumber in the United states that iv seen
Fire retardant
@@ryannicklyn2377 you only have male trees
It's dyed to show at a glance that it's been treated to H1.2 and is suitable for enclosed framing.
Your makita multi saw blade is on the piss, had the same it’s a fault they get.
Butler kitchen
👍🤓👍
👍👍👍
Aren't you guys worried about asbestos doing these old reno?
Oooot
Is it just me that finishes every Scott videos with a smile on?
Buddy knows his shit. I'm in the US and he's one of my top 3 fav yt peeps right now. Only AvE and Diresta in front.
But I'm happy with how much he's grown. Hopefully it keeps getting bigger and better for him.
@@dannyb4283 I'm in canada, same with me. Have you checked out the crazy framer?
Almost every time:)
6:38 i dont blame you for checking her out haha!
all i was thinking about
Jaja he lost train of thought for a moment
amritg187 that ass must must be jelly cus jam don’t shake like that
"Cooking with chef Paerau" is my new favorite segment.
You’ve been making me say “eh” after everything too much! Lol
Is there a more Kiwi saying than "Bro, see if you can smash it down, oi"?
Not for anything.... but videos with Pareau are gr8! You should have more of him. You guys make a great duo!
The only problem with you channel is the fact that I can't see the videos in chronological order and it drives me nuts
Excellent work guy's, I strive to be not just a carpenter, but also a person like you fellas!
Great team work, super chill work environment, that's the dream team right there 🤘😎
And you always have a plan, Bravo 👏
when I grow up, I want to be like you ...
how about a sit down with all 3 scott, cameron, pareau cmon peeps vote!!!
Pantry here in scotland!! so true tho so much work that noone ever knows about or sees! great video as always boys!
In UK those bags are called Hippo Bags ,always carry couple in van comes in 3 sizes
more expensive for a hippo + pickup than a skip in Scotland where im at !
I'm an electrician. People complain quite a bit about our time estimates because they can't see 90% of the work we do when the job is done.
Adam Marshall True, in my country there are a lot of bad sparkies, I just hate working with the sparkies at my job site, I thank god when I work with a good electician, hopefully you are one of the good ones! 😄
@@tonyd2905 True, we are a stuck-up bunch, but a few of us have been tamed and civilized.
Sorry but everyone knows there is an unwritten rule about lifting drop saws.... 1 person per drop saw, no matter the size. You trying to sleep with your friend or something?
Paerau nearly lost his Carpenter ticket with that one. Luckily, saner heads prevailed.
It is handy to have a cordless especially if your working somewhere no power could reach. So a quick job or just a drop in cut and nail boom!! Cordless!! Less time setting up. But if their is power around a worksite, i would consider your dewalt drop saw.
Man I really like your videos. Both of you guys have such a good work ethic and positive attitude. Found it super relatable what you said about the apprentices not realising how much pressure the tradesman is under sometimes. Good to know I’m not the only one!
Keep up the good work, I really enjoy following your work!
Im so thankful for your channel. I keep telling these new guys that you have one standard, whether its seen or not, rental or a persons home. Do your best everytime! Your an inspiration to me to always strive to do my best, thanks!
I work in remodeling and your point with the time strain is absolutely true. The amount of prep that needs to be done before you even get to the actual work is to damn high! Also having a new project every week makes the prep work hard to do with out stress haha.
What impresses me most is the quality of the work you folks do. It is rare to see framing being done here in America as exacting as you folks do it. Here if they can swing a hammer they are a a "carpenter" and they are out there framing houses. The results, as you might have guessed, are nothing is square and nor is it plumb and the trim work has a generous amount of caulk applied to every joint.
Hey you been to my house.
No kidding! I also notice that his lumber seems a lot straighter and drier than the stuff we have. Some of the stuff I buy is still growing.
Nice and tidy work Scott and Paerau. A lot of time gets lost keeping the site clean and tidy. Can’t stand it when plumbers and sparkies leave a huge mess.
Keep up the high standards!
Chur boys....
It's always them sparkies and turd hurders that trash your job site.
@@fscarp As a sparkie on 2nd year apprenticeship, you are goddamn right. Why waste time collecting litter when the timber monkeys do it for us anyway?
Hi Guys, I remember in my grandmothers house (Hokitika), she had a scullery. It was where the washing up was done. I'm talking 70 years ago.
Wikipedia agrees en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scullery.
Its funny how language changes with time.
I enjoy watching your videos they have a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Definition of ‘scullery’ (also known as a ‘Butler’s Pantry’):
A small room or section of a pantry…
…in which food is cleaned, trimmed, and cut into cooking portions before being sent to the kitchen.
… or kitchen in which cooking utensils are cleaned and stored.
I really, really wanna work with you guys haha, i work in home improvement carpentry and construction right now and I love it
Being a commercial electrician in Canada... That wiring looks f'd
A scullery was where cleaning of dishes and sometimes laundry took place. It was where the water supply was - the kitchen was where food got prepared and cooked. A place to store food and kitchen utensils is a pantry or a larder. You're welcome.
A scullery is where you do the dirty jobs, essentially.
So you wash vegetables there before they go to the kitchen and you clean dishes etc.
So you clean in the scullery, you store in a pantry and you cook in a kitchen.
What's your favorite measuring tap and why???
Bosses get stressed because their plan of attack did not work. 🤬😤Hehe. Usually the case.🤣
dam you with your food clips. LOL 3 years since i had fush and chups and now you started a craving!
Why pink wood? Is it treated with chemicals or is it just for color?
Are sparkys in nz give free reign? We'd get murdered here in UK for that diagonal wire 😂
6:38 let´s check out and touch the rear end of...
...yes, your white car
Does anyone know of any channels similar to this but based on electrical work?
Why does NewZealanders paint their 2/4 pink? Is there a reason?
Way to go! Did you have to reinforce the joist, or add a replacement a few cm over?
Why do you guys not wear safety glasses? Better than squinting.
Always noggins? What is their purpose?
Here in Ireland a scullery used to bo a place were you would piss and shit its when your toilet was out side back in the 70 s
Was under the floor all day today doing drainage. Not good with glue and primer under there lol
When you're low but high all day XD
I had no idea makita made a cordless saw, much less a cordless one. Nice.
hahaha that fish and chip shop is strictly out of bounds for my household haha
Story of my life. It’s amazing how much behind the scene work there is, sometimes more then work that is seen. Keep up the good work. Nice Job
How do you charge for the work you do? Not time ?
The pantry is as big as the kitchen!
What’s up with the pink wood
I see you like Casey neistat
A good one.
6:38 👍👍😁
One if the best things about your videos Scott is that you always reflect a point of view that most people have no understanding of. And for new guys it can be quite insightful and for the older hands really quite relatable. Something for everyone.
Congratulations on a great channel!
0:34 Hey! Did that forklift have a built in floor-laser to mark the safety/danger zone?
Convince him to out in a cavity slider, which activates the light when the door opens, it’s what I did, all good! A door keeps food less stale.
As a Canadian I find it amazing that you can cut a hole in the floor and drop through to the outside, without getting six feet of snow in the house ... actually, we only get a few inches at a time, around here, which is why I no longer live in Montreal.
Shayna insists on calling it a Butlers Pantry. If I ever go on The Block I will be sure to call it a Scullery purely to annoy her.
The customer never know how difficult most things are until they decide to do it themselves.
That pink timber makes your stud work look so pretty. Wish we had that in the UK rather than boring old green...
We call it a secularly in Scotland I think that’s where the name come from
Paerau isn’t wearing his glasses for once
Another noice video dude, what I would like to know is how long do you spend editing your videos? They are grade A journeys mate!!
Very artistic if you ask me.
i never understood how the airbow got recharged
The pink lumber throws me off in every video 🤣
What do bricklayers earn over there Scott, was thinking of moving from Ireland.
I am so glad to see another working video. I don't mind the other videos but as an apprentice carpenter I love to see you guys do nice clean work like this.
Thanks for the videos and now I'm back under a house to do my own work no one will ever see. Insulation and PEX wrapping.
i dont blame you for checking her out haha!. I Seee What you did cut edit
Thanks for showing the part of the work that nobody sees. It helps me figure out what needs to be done for my kitchen redo.
