This series is seriously clever!
Jamie Oliver very cool that your commenting here.
Jamie Oliver hi Jamie !!!
Jamie Oliver Shit you're really him. I've loved you for years.
Oh mon dieu, Jamie Oliver a quand même commenté ton vidéo!!!
You are so creative and funny. Love your video.
"Trim off the ends, and eat them." - Essential part of the recipe! DO NOT FORGET!
+Ermude10 I never do. Keep in mind guys, we work hard in the kitchen to feed people. We take care of people. But who takes good care of us ?? We should always, always be nibbling.
Ermude10
Pasta re iPod
Otherwise the other pieces will explode!!
@@FrenchGuyCooking All good chefs do this, it is part 3 of the Code: 1) Waste nothing 2) Serve pretty food 3) Cause we want to, and we deserve it.
Lo hago siempre 😋
This is so much creative! As a Vietnamese cooking girl, I use rice paper my whole life just for nem and fresh spring roll. Have never thought it can be cooked many more clever ways like this. Love the salmon roll and the chocolate coconut roll.
Not bad Alex... use boiled eggs too and sluced appkes. Yummy.
I remember seeing these on sesame street when i was younger and being so confused because i didn't understand what kind of tortilla was clear
🤣🤣🤣 this comment made my day
Can we just talk about how amazing his accent is
God I love his accent! I can listen to it for hours if I can’t sleep
English accent is
So fanny
it's just so French
@@joy7367 So français
I'm ashamed to speak english because of this accent 😳
Omg that salmon wrap...
I love this salmon wrap .It's a new thing to know. Ha ha ha
That is w what got me to click in this video!!!!
6 years later and I'm still using this as my go to video for rice paper recipes!🥰🔥🙋🏽♀️
I love how excited this guy is about rice paper!
ahh this is so epic! The pasta maker hack blew my mind!
+Brothers Green Eats Your channel always blow my mind! You should team up with French Guy Cooking some time!
+Brothers Green Eats thanks bros. You sure know your stuff about creativity
I follow you guys 😊
1000% Agree
Lol so evil how he made us wait lol clever love u channel too guys !!!! Brother green eats is an amazing channel also u 2 should totally collaborate
Just in case any curious about the pattern on the rice paper: it is the pattern of bamboo mesh. Rice paper is a tradditional Vietnam Food. In the past, it is dried under sunshine on bamboo mesh. That is where it get the pattern. Nowaday, we still keep that pattern even it was mass-produced
1- crisps
2- steamed salmon
3- ramen
4- chocolate coconut sweet spring rolls
5- makisushi
1. Not so nice the taste of Rice paper bieng fry
3. too soft, too melt...
so i not all have a nice taste with the rice paper
@@lilistheresia6174 thanks for sharing your opinions!
@@lilistheresia6174 , yup, I agree with this. In India as well, rice crackers are a commonly sold cheap snack in trains and buses. I'm not a huge fan of fried rice paper either. I'd rather have potato, gram flour or, prawn crackers any day over rice crackers.
The other dishes though, absolutely rock!🤘😍🤤
Thank you for all the awesome ideas using rice paper! After I made a few of yours, I tried out an idea of my own. I filled rice paper wrappers with a blend of shredded mozzarella cheese, ricotta, cooked spinach and finely diced Shiitaki mushrooms, then pan-fried them in avocado oil. They were wonderful! Thanks for inspiring me to try out new ideas with rice paper!😃
How did you shape them? Like dumplings or rolls? I want to try
He sounded like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, when he laughed at the edible salmon wrapper..Lol. :)
Nah...He totally sound like me.
I finished reading this and then he laughed. I want his laugh as my ringtone
I accidently bought rice paper and I was about to throw them out cause I didnt know what to do with them, now I know :D sushi is coming, thank you for the ideas :D
You're lucky :)
Don’t ever talk about throwing rice paper away in front of an Asian.
I would half steam then pan fry the rice salmon wrap for contrast of texture. Great video 😄
the recipes are amazing but what also caught my attention was the fact that this guy does not use fancy new pans for RUclips... just those pans we have in real life... used and somewhat burnt ... made me smile... :)
I used your idea for the salmon but with tuna steaks! I used enoki mushrooms, red cabbage, chilli, cilantro, mint, basil, and a blood orange sesame glaze I made. I also tried steaming one in kombu. Thank you for the inspiration!
“When you put boundaries/limits, you get most creative” .... couldn’t agree more! ...some of my most creative dishes were the result of me wiping up something with leftovers in my kitchen (because I was too lazy/forgot to shop)... never thought about it that way, till you pointed it out Alex! Great recipes as usual 👌🏼
You're one fun teacher . one principle of learning is it should be FUN .
New to rice paper and I'm so glad I've found this channel.
This is the cutest food channel I ever watched!
Zican Z
O
Me at 1:54: WHERE DID HE GET SUCH A BIG SALMON FILET FROM
Me at 1:56: oh nevermind
Omg lmao
Thats me 😂😂
Hahaha I read this at the exact moment the cutting board came into the frame
I know right 😂😂😂
Same here hahahaha!
Isn’t Alex fantastic ? I love he’s personality, and he certainly knows how to use rice paper. Thank you, I can’t wait to try these recipes.
It´s amazing! Thank you!
These were so good! Such original ideas. I've had a pack of rice paper in my cupboard for well over a year that's definitely going to get used now...
Easily one of your best videos. so many good ideas. Those crisps look so good.
TheBeetrootman just tried makin then they were to oily
The coconut roll looked delicious. And it’s nice to see how enthusiastic you are about it. Thank you for the video
I made the rice paper steamed salmon and I cannot stress how amazing this was. Alex, you genius!
"Shpring roll"
Shiba 😂😂😂😂😂😂😭
"dry ricepaper shits"
I wasn't sure if I heard it like that, it even made me imagine, in Sean Connery 's voice: "Shpring roll, shaken not shtirred."
"Paght" 7:59
SHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't Shhhhhare!
Oh my gosh.... I made the ricepaper crisps today and they were sooooo good! I think I'm addicted to them now
Thank you for sharing your great ideas and recipes! :)
Aaaaah good.
I made them too! They were good expect for the fact they get stuck in your teeth
I really enjoyed them. Fun to make, too!
2 things:
1. I found it tricky to keep the oil temperature just right.
2. Cooking with flavored oils can have a big effect. I cooked mine in canola oil and it brought a lot of that canola flavor to the crackers.
Likitha Ranganatha yeah :/
Never thought about using rice paper these ways! Bravo! Love you!
Aaawww. He's sooo cute. I'm loving the energy 😍 sehr schön!
Literally, his little "hoohoohoo!!!" Giggle made me subscribe.
You had me at "spring rolls every f*cking night of the week!" =)
Really creative ideas! I want to do the wrapper trick with chicken, lemon, rosemary....yum
I could listen to you for ever.
You are soooo passionate!!! I looooove it :) I’ve had rice paper forever in my cabinet because I was tired of make spring rolls all the time. This is excellent!
One more recipe you could have added: baklava! It's the only way to do that recipe gluten free, to use rice paper instead. Let me know if you'd like the traditional Greek baklava recipe from Epirus, Greece (I'm from there).
you bitch??? Very unnecessary!! Anyway, it's a traditional turkish recipe but it's also from greece too. Who cares who made it up first, so many countries have similar recipes, it's not a shocker that some are gonna alter another countries recipe to make it their own style. Chill out, food is for everyone.
lol ok
Genius! (so much cheaper also) and if you have a 12 " cake pan, it would be 'cake' (if you get my drift)! Kudos, Eugenia! You get a gold star from me!
And pasta is Chinese ! Who cares ? Ego should be put aside once in a while, shouldn’t it ?
And pasta is Chinese ! Who cares ? Ego should be put aside once in a while, shouldn’t it ?
This is better than current episodes - it's short, inspiring, informative and enriching.
These are not only creative, but they actually seem yummy!
"cut off the ends, and eat them" LOL SO TRUE!!!
+Poopstain just the fact he actually says it out loud is fantastic (as we all love to eat the ends of makis!)
Oh my gosh!! My partner hates nori, which makes sushi very difficult. Now we can eat it together and enjoy it how we like! Thank you Alex!!
Just love the way you sound so enthusiastic
I'm an Asia and I'm mind blown by these ideas! Bravooooo!
"trim off the ends and eat them"7:24 - X'D made my day, I already love you XD
subbed man!
I love these wraps too! You are fun and gave me all sorts of inspiration for cooking with my vegetarian husband. Thank you
Gosh, I think I actually still have some of these things in my cupboards! Tip: to dampen rice paper: use a spray bottle of water that has a fine mist. :)
Thanks Alex, I love your recipes. I don’t have a lot of luck working with rice paper, you make it look so easy. I’m ready to try again, as practice makes perfect 🙏
Loved the recipes, and the idea of deep frying the rice paper combined with the idea of making it into noodles could be a next level garnish!!! 🔥🔥
Absolutely amazing! Really inspiring, even if Im vegetarian I can catch the ideas without the meat, absolutely pure art 🖤
Good ideas. See this is why mixed cultures is a must.
Voila! A French chef extrraordinaire!❤
I made the rice chips and seasoned them with nutritional yeast and I love them! I always have them on hand and can now replace my constant chip cravings with them. And my kiddos will love them too. Thank you!
This video got recommended to me just in time because I JUST bought way too much rice paper for making spring rolls coincidentally lol
I agree with Mr. Oliver; clever is the right word.
These ideas are absolutely wonderful.
“I’m serious”, bro I never doubted you. I can’t even cook...
I love to make ebi sunomono salad as well as spring and salad rolls (3 of the fastest and easiest lunch/snacks ever) so I usually have rice paper and rice noodles on hand, but I never knew there was SO many other things you could make with them, especially desserts...until now. Thanks to your love of food experimenting/food hacks and a joie de vivre personality both of which we seemingly share (must be the French in us...lol), I have already watched part 2, have since subscribed, and I can't wait to check out all your videos.
I'm a chef and you are a total legend. Keep up the good work
As someone with misophonia I astronomically appreciate him not leaving in much chewing audio. It’s just amazing
My son is gluten free..and you have helped me so much...your excellent💝
Omg the way he says any word that ends with an "R" is like pillows to my ear 🤷♀️🥰🤣
You’re right, just like a pillow
Will definitely try out the rice wrapper noodles and sushi with rice wrappers! Thanks for posting these cool ideas :)
Rice paper added to shopping list immediately!!!
I cannot have gluten and this is genius!!! I am definitely subscribing
Am allergic too!!
i frequently use rice paper, but never did i imagine it could also be use for dessert. thx for the inspiration alex 😊
What an amazing crunch.
Peanut butter and jelly/jam/fruit preserve of some sort wrapped in rice paper! Delish!
Thank you Alex!! Sorry, I only just found your channel but watching it is reviving my cooking creativity. If you think of it, many gourmet dishes came from humans being creative what little they had, people started liking it and eventually the big honchos eventually tried it not realizing the lowly roots from where it came. 😉
Wow! Those rice paper crisps remind me of a South East Asian snack called 'keropok'. It's just flour and some other ingredients mixed with fish and fried. They look almost exactly like those crisps!
+Asila Fatinah What is it ? Tell me more ?
There is also an Indian side dish if we can say so called "pappad" looks just like that ^^
+Shenita P. and the tirapitakia are like samosas except we don't make them with rice paper ^^
Yes! They serve those as an appetizer at a sushi restaurant I go to!
@@FrenchGuyCooking in Indonesia we have "kerupuk", it is fried crisps of many kinds and flavor. The flour could be rice flour, tapioca, corn or mixed. Flavors could be shrimp, garlic, etc. Some are sold fried, but households usually fry them in a batch and put in large containers to be eaten as side dish or as snacks.
Creativity galore! Awesome!
Obsessed with you Alex!!!! That accent, your love for flavours ....
That salmon looks amazing. I wonder what else I could put in there though.
You could put in WHATEVER! Preferably thinly sliced vegetables along with the salmon.
Those rice paper chips are the perfect thing for those Sundays when you want something to snack on but forgot to buy potato chips and have nothing else in the house. :D

Always original. The best!
"Pure silence. (CRUNCH!)"
I love rice paper it just means "fun" or a party in my mouth. I'm thinking all 3 would be amazing fried.
Thank you so much for these rice paper recipes (with this heatwave in Italy there are truly appreciated)!
A great success with my grandchildren too!
In love with the recipes can't wait to try all of it..
Thank you Alex
That translucent rice paper sushi with the leaves is so beautiful! *_*
Ah, the potential it has! One could use a criss-crossing pattern of mizuna and rocket, edible flower petals or just colorful vegetables. It could really be a highlight or show-off piece on a sushi platter.
Such great ideas! Just wow. A+ for creativity! It all looks delicious, not only genius :) My Fave was the Salmon packet :)
Brilliant. Compliments to the chef.
Absolutely brilliant
Perfect timing. I have rice wrappers and now I have a surprise dish for the party tonight. Thanks, Alex! =D
Alright, the sushi wrap has changed my life. I've never cared for most sushi because I do not enjoy the flavor of nori...I know right...but this worked excellent for me. Much love to you Alex
Listening to you crunch into the crispy rice wrapper was so satisfying to hear!
he is so sweetest
also his recipes are really great.thanks a TON
“Trim off the end, and eat them”
If this aint me
I love how he says, "banana"! 6:00
I know...it's cute😆
Lol i want someone who is as enthusiastic about me as this guy is about rice paper. Great vid!
the chocolate coconut roll is pure genius i never wouldbe imagined coconut, chocolate and noodles together oMG
subbed 8 seconds into my first video of yours, i love you already! great ideas and attitude!
Alex that was so inspirational to watch! :D
Love it! Am just discovering the joys of rice paper, and this elevates it to new levels!
😱 that coconut roll is drool worthy. I will be trying that recipe tonight!
OMG! I loved your creativity and on the of all, I love your cute French Accent. :-) Merci beaucoup.
instantly subscribing, man. you're amazing
I hope this man receives in life all that is good and true. Outstanding.
Your spring roll wrapped fish is brilliant!
