    I just finished replacing the steering column, ignition lock cylinder, and about 6 other small things on my 02’ GT. Hasn’t run in nearly 3 months, and I finished everything today. 61k miles, gun metal grey! Found this video, and it’s just so relatable. These cars find their way into your heart man. Here’s to another 10 years with my girl

      Don't listen to her. She is only a girlfriend and not a wife and even then those are decisions that should be made together. I had an 85 Iroc back in 2014 and the only reason for trading it for a truck was because of our location and moving. My wife, not once ever asked me to sell it. She let me have my fun and new how important that was. She trusted me knwoing that should we really need money I would have sold it in a heart beat to care for the family.
      Of course that never happened so I didn't need to worry about it and it was my choice to trade it for a nice K5 Blazer since we moved out into the sticks and we got lots of snow in the country that wouldn't get plowed for 2-3 days after storms.
      Sorry man, she sounds controling and toxic.

    Very cool story !! I bought a 2004 GT convertible 5spd, RedFire with black top and dark charcoal leather (premium) interior. I bought the car in 2019 for $4,000 from a dealer. It's in very good condition. It was all stock. I added an MGW shifter, Magnaflow mufflers. I also re-covered the driver's seat due to leather coming apart. The car has 154,000 miles and runs great. Engine is quiet, with no leaks, no burning oil ! I have the original window sticker and owner's manual. I sounds like you have an understanding wife in regard to your passion for your Mustangs.

    Great story! I know I say it all the time, but your videos have been such a great help. They literally made it possible for me to get back into newedge Mustangs. I always loved the sn95/newedge cars growing up. Like you and your brother, during high school/college I had a v6 that I always wished was a v8... put a GT exhaust on it, Bullitt wheels and a few other goodies, but after a while I gave up on owning the GT/Bullitt I had long dreamed of because of reliability concerns and not knowing enough about fixing them. Finally a little over 4 years ago I picked one up my 2001 Bullitt as a temporary car to drive while waiting for my 2019 Bullitt to be built. By this time I had a lot more knowledge about working on cars, but even still , I bit off way more than I could chew. Your videos helped me do a complete mechanical over-hall on it, including a transmission swap. Now I am absolutely in love with the car and will NEVER sell it. In fact, I daily drive it now and my wife drives the 2019 for the most part. I always get excited when I pull up RUclips and see that you or JustinSVT has posted a mustang video because I enjoy them so much. I just wish I had more friends close by that were as passionate about these cars to be able to enjoy them the way you and your brother do. Keep up the great work!

    Great video and I waited until the end until commenting! I’m older than you but my story is similar. Being married and trying to go back to school and having young kids , I was always having a hard time justifying spending the money on a performance car. Had plenty of projects, some finished, some not, but would always sell them off reluctantly due to needing the cash. My daily drivers were always high mileage cars that I’d repair myself and keep going. Finally with some breathing room in 03 it was my wife who talked me into buying a nice car for myself. So I bought a used 01 white Mustang GT 5 spd. Was always a GM and Mopar guy until that point but I loved the retro styling of the New Edge Stangs but knew little about them before buying. 3 months later I see an 03 TR Mach for sale at the same place and my wife says “I know you want it, just buy it”. So I did and I still have it now. 62K with some mods and a bunch of dragstrip runs but she still looks and drives killer!
    Just wanted to finish by saying, As a car guy I’m jealous of where you live. I live in the NE so there’s rust and the roads are too congested. I’ve been out to the Vegas area a lot lately (Love the SW) and I always rent a Mustang GT to enjoy the wide open roads(going back in June)

    Thanks for sharing your story with us! I have a 2000 mustang gt Jack Roush edition stage 2 convertible and it’ll be 23 years old soon and I still love the car and I attempted to sell the car about two or three times and I couldn’t do it, seeing someone else driving my car is like seeing another guy walking around with my wife and I couldn’t do that either so I really understand why you feel the way you do and I’ve never been a mustang guy I’ve always been a Chevy or Pontiac guy but for some reason I really like the look of the new edge and the sound of it also and I have done some upgrades and my best 1/4 mile time was 13.9 when I realized that it already does everything I need it to do and that’s make me feel special, smoke the tires and look drop dead sexy every time I see her. I almost traded her in for a 2019 veloster/ Hyundai turbo because it’s front wheel drive for snow ❄️ and it has a useable back seat with similar HP until the salesman started lowballing for the Roush and talking crap about my car plus they wanted $19,000 for a two year old car with 40,000 miles on it that listed for $19,000 two years ago and they only offered me $4,000 for my car so I’m still the only one who gets to drive her for the last 19 years and I still love her

      The coin delete was on eBay years ago. Sometimes you can still find them. Currently there aren’t any leaks on the mufflers. It has borla stingers. One was bent up from road damage, but works fine

    Danny I own a 2000 saleen factory supercharged I was told by my mechanic that if I change the rear end gears that I would loose the factory tune if I change the speedometer any help will be appreciated this is Rick from sf calif

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад

      It depends on how the car is tuned now. When you buy a hand held tuner you will upload the stock tune into one of its memory slots and download the new tune onto the car (best to have the car taken and dyno tuned for the new tune). Some tuners also allow you to simply make adjustments to the current tune. If not, you should be able to duplicate the tune at a place that dynos the cars and only have them change the gear ratio- but at that it’s better to have the car dyno tuned which is much more accurate than the stock base tune they put on all the saleens. You will have ways to keep the factory tune

    Hi Danny Johnson, I watched your video after watching many others trying to fix an electrical parasitic draw.
    It was a long video but I couldn't stop watching. My Lady bought a Mustange convertible in 2000. She loves her car, and every time I fix something, then else breaks. I have two Questions: everything in her driver's side door shakes. The plastic clip on the door handle broke twice after replacing it twice. How do I stop this from happening, Am I missing something? I was careful on the install. I feel like maybe something was broken in the door and the plastic clip was not positioned in a slot that was maybe broken or clip that was missing. Seems like everything is shaking inside the door. How do I secure it? I'm asking more than 2 questions. I'm very sorry. My steering wheel rubber covering is loose all the way around the wheel. How do I fix it? Thanks again for the amazing story

      For the steering wheel, they make a nice leather wrap you can install ruclips.net/video/pn9cWLtO6gc/видео.html

      For the rattling and clips, you’ll have to look around a bit. I will post a few videos that will help reference, but it could be anything from the window track to lock actuator, window motor ruclips.net/video/0wkFs1eWZ8E/видео.html

    Any plans to fix that crack on the dash? I hardly ever see cracks on a new edge dash, the heat must be brutal out there.

    Wait a second... So, your wife MADE you sell it, and then wouldn't let you buy it back... Meanwhile, your father in law "teased" you by buying a GT? This whole part made my blood boil. Some people just don't understand.
