    Thanks for this. I had a HireVue interview a few weeks ago for a job that I'm overqualified for. I used almost your exact answer to the Why Should We Hire You question -- I said my skills/experience, my interests and my coachability. The coachability thing seems like a great way of letting an employer know that you won't be a problem if they can see that you're overqualified.
    I also dumbed down my resume to make past jobs sound more basic. And I included only a bachelor's degree.
    I got the job and start in a couple weeks. It's not an ideal job but I'll stick with it and try to move up over time. I've been looking for a long time.

Coming from someone that has interviewed multiple times with HireView, your video was extremely helpful. There's a few things I would like to discuss with you about this video and expanding it to reach applicants outside of the pharma industry (such as myself) but overall you gave some insightful info for the HireVue application.

    However, I appreciate you providing this video as it shows both prospective employees the odds they are against and recruiters how ineffective and inefficient this interviewing technique is. These one-way interviews fail at recognizing true talent, and instead, promote those who are great at bluffing and acting.

    Much obliged for your demonstration - fun, and incredibly useful! As a 30-year veteran of state government, my last interview was in 1999. Things have changed a little bit. You're efforts have given me a leg up on an interview I'd really like to ace - as a retiree I have the luxury of pursuing personal interests without needing to worry about compensation, but my skill-set is narrow, and I have limited experience using it as I dream of. I have an invite for one of these HireVue interviews lurking in my email inbox and it scares the 💩 out of me 😂. I started out using Microsoft word docs to write down STAR answers to questions I'm guessing might be asked. Did not feel efficient or confidence building at all. Seeing this video makes me feel much, much better!!! It removes the mystery of what it might be like. It also gives me good intel on how I need to be able to recite my whole CV (!!) at the drop of a hat, which I wasn't expecting. I am also comforted to see that you didn't necessarily spend 3 full minutes answering each video question. I think at the beginning of the HireVue, it estimated about 35 mins to complete and I think you did it in well under 15. Since you're a pro, I'm counting on this being ok... as long as the answer is rich and full. I'm reading this in 2023, 2 years after you recorded it, so I'd be curious to know if you got the role or not and, if not, did they say why? Thanks again so, so much for this video and the other one where you walk the candidate through what the HireVue process will be like.

    • @hasahmed
      @hasahmed 3 года назад +1

      @@nenea2561 idk if it’s dependent on the position or not. I applied for an internship, here’s the 5 questions I got, exactly word for word (slightly abbreviated):
      1. Plz describe a time you had to quickly learn a new method, technique, or skill to complete a task or responsibility. How did u approach the situation?
      2. Tell us about a time u achieved a challenging personal or professional goal. Plz describe what strategies and processes you put in place to ensure that u were successful and that u followed through on ur commitments.
      3. Plz describe a specific problem that u encountered personally or professionally. How did u go about gathering info to help u solve the problem. What was the most difficult aspect of this situation? What was the result?
      4. Describe a time u had to work extremely hard on a project or task until u achieved it. What was the situation? What was the end result?
      5. Tell me about a time you experienced. disagreement in the workplace among team members, but were able to resolve the issue and work together effectively. Please describe the situation, your actions, and the outcome.

    This is amazing! Thank you so much, this is my first time doing this and I was just about to jump into without research but when I was about to start, my mom was making so much noise, so I decided to wait and while I waited I started to do a bit of research about these types of interviews. Now lie, I was thinking of not going trough with it but now I feel a bit confident and if I don’t get this job, I will be even more ready for the next one. Thank you sooooo much!

      @@RamblingRecruiter I'm from the UK London what is the difference between Hirevue and Google Meets interview platforms or is Google Meets just a video platform only I'm not that clued on it. Cheers

      Google meet is web conferencing. A live video between 2 people. Hirevue is a one way video. You record yourself and someone watches it later.

    I did my first HireVue today and I’m kind of confused as to how it works ): I didn’t see any option for practice questions, only a demand for a 3 minute video of me talking about anything to check how I look and sound. After “practicing”, I clicked next and it started asking me actual questions and I kept stuttering and pausing for too long. I’m super bummed out. Could those be the possible practice questions or am I doomed from getting the job I want? )’:

    I think you did great. No matter how experienced a person is, prior preparation is critical and the need to be able to think on their feet comes to mind. I'm curious, is Spark Hire set up the same way as Hirevue for the given interview questions? Keep up the great work, this really helps.
