This was really helpful. Just got done with my hirevue so some questions I was asked were: 1. What challenges do you see the finance service industry facing in the next 5 yrs 2. How would you approach a situation where teammates have differing opinions and you must come to a resolution 3. What is you greatest accomplishment career or school wise 4. Explain a situation where you had to deal with a complex problem. You have ONE opportunity to retry but make sure it's good cause that is what will be submitted
Just finished my HireVue interview, here are the questions I got asked : - Describe a headline in the financial market which recently caught your attention and why ? - Tells us why your are interested in the financial services industry and more particularly why JPmorgan ? - How your acamedic background and experiences at uni makes you a good fit for the position in markets. What element are you most passionated about in finance and why ? Crazy that the question I was fearing the most (the one about financial services industry, I am really not into fintechs) turned out to be the one I wanted to develop the most and actually did not have enough time to finish answering... Anyway, really good experience and they actually let you redo your answers once with unlimited time to prepare but I would argue that it is better to just think about the main idea and speak spontaneously ! Good luck everyone !

Hi eveyone, thank y’all for the questions in the comments and special thanks to the video creator. I just finished my hirevue I got 3 questions: 1: Describe a time you had to work in a team? How was it? 2: Challenges in the finance industry in the next 5 years 3: If you were to lend money to a company only which one would be? Why?
Just finished my HireVue interview, here are the questions I got asked : - What do you think are the greatest challenges the financial services industry will face in the next 5 years? -Imagine you recently joined a team that has differing opinions on how to best approach the task at hand. How would you connect with your teammates in order to accomplish your goal? Please describe your suggested approach to help the team achieve their desired goal -Describe a time when you made a mistake at work or school. Describe the situation, what actions you took, and what you learned -Provide an example of a project where you sought out relevant information and used it to develop a plan of action. Describe the situation, the actions you took, and the outcome

How would you approach completing that task 2. Imagine you recently joined a team that has differing opinions on how to best approach the task at hand. How would you connect with your teammates in order to accomplish your goal? Please describe your suggested approach to help the team achieve their desired goal.
My hirevue interview was 5 questions long and allowed up to 2 mins to answer each question. The questions I was asked for the Lending Analyst position were: 1. What attracts you to J.P. Morgan and specifically an opportunity in Asset or Wealth Management? 2. Describe what factors have influenced financial markets in recent months and how they might affect our clients 3. Please share an example of a time when you had to work as part of a team to accomplish an important goal. Please describe the situation, your actions, and the outcome. 4. Describe a time when you made a mistake at work or school. Describe the situation, what actions you took, and what you learned. 5. What do you think are the greatest challenges the financial services industry will face in the next 5 years? They do emphasize not rehearsing your answers, but I definitely felt like I was at a disadvantage if I didn't lol. Goodluck to anyone going through the interview process !!
Disagree with the deadline question. There is no universal answer and each assignment should be treated on a case by case basis, based on how important the assignment is. IMO, a better action would be to offer notification to management and the client on delays that can come up and to have a plan. Making the deadline doesn't mean much if the deliverable is inaccurate or of low quality.
Does everyone get to the next stage or ..? I applied to the spring programme with JPM and got a reply within a week saying I have been put through to the hireview.
Hey Afzal, please could you bring back Two minute Tuesday explaining definitions but instead of Tuesday just on any day 😅? They're so informative and helpful! Regardless, the latest content is also amazing! Thx
Hi I would like to discuss about reentry program interview, if you got to know about the interview process/questions, please reply back, it will be really helpful.
In my experience, I would say that no, it is a great strength to be strong in Accounting However, business management seems to be quite far from Investment Banking positions From Accounting, yes, you will need to get a deeper understanding around Finance and Deals But you should give it a try if you are motivated and interested by those positions Good Luck :)
The degree you study is, by and large, not that relevant (where you study your degree is, for better or worse, more relevant). As long as you can show why you are interested in investment banking, you should be fine in interviews. However, be prepared to explain why you chose your degree and what skills you have picked up that will be relevant in IB. Last, if you study a degree where there is a direct link to IB (e.g. accounting), expect to be asked questions about this as they will expect that you have at least a basic understanding of certain concepts (that they might not expect if you study, say, Chemistry). Some of the best people I have met in IB did not come from a financial background. Good luck.
