What we’re supposed to do I want to make a special blanket for my granddaughter and grandson, something different, besides a double crochet stitch, Just gotta figure out how many stitches to make a throw blanket that’s what throws me off
How do you calculate the amount of stitches you need for all four sides of the blanket for a border? And what border would you recommend for this blanket? My edges aren't that straight even though I'm counting them and ensuring I'm ending on the correct stitch.
You can work it flat back and forth in a rectangle (like my sample, just a bit larger). Then sew the seam and cinch it around the top to make a nice hat.
Not really. The only thing I ever suggest is use a hook size that works with the yarn you have. The yarn label usually has a suggested hooks size somewhere on it. If the hook is too big the stitches will be too loose. If the hook size is too small it could split the yarn and fall off and all. Other than that, whatever makes your work look good is the correct hook to use.
