There is a moment about 30 minutes in that shook the entire theater. 5 seconds on screen caused the audience to gasp and cover their mouths. I heard a woman say "oh my god" in complete shock. It was brutally real, and hard to sit through at times because of how real it got. A great movie that I don't know if I can sit through again.

Yeah the information discussed in the film and the text just before the end credits is accurate. I grew up in New Mexico, near Albuquerque, and there were three tribal reservations nearby that I knew of. My dad told me one time that a couple of friends he'd made who were in law enforcement in the area said women and girls on reservations were among the most victimized people in the world, they said they kept trying to get federal attention on the stuff that goes on in the reservations, but nobody cares. An excellent film on all counts! Birmingham's expression when he opens the door and sees his friend is raw and heartbreaking. Sheridan's script and direction are superlative.
Hey Stuckman glad to see you review this and also glad to hear its a very powerful film. I teach what goes in with the First Nations (Native Americans) historically and what goes on now. Kudos for giving it the spotlight it deserves. Would recommend reviewing the TV series Blackstone.
This gets me even more excited. One of my best friends is Native American and i have had the great pleasure of experiencing his culture, so amazing. But ive been looking forward to this movie for a bit. Great review Mr. Stuckman. Love the videos.
Gun used in the movie was a Marlin model 1895, firing a 45 out of a bullet cartridge the size of your middle finger, the 45-70 round. Not the most accurate (still very very accurate) but believe me when I say those bullets punch harder than most sniper rounds including the 30-06 and. 308 It hits like a damn cannon and the shootout towards the end reminds us all, we need a Marlin. Such a beautiful lethal repeater and his is a special colorway that looks incredible.
Nice review, Stuckman. WR is my favorite film of the year behind Logan, and before Moonlight or Jackie. Right, this year hasn't been stellar, but I rarely give 9 stars out of 10 to a movie. Everything about it is brilliant.
Great review to a great movie. I felt the same. The performances were mesmerizing. This movie definitely deserves an "A" grade. Probably one of the best movies that I have watched in the past 5 years. I was drawn into the characters and their stories. Great job directing and writing this film!
This film's coming out in late September in my country. I really want to see it. I can go watch it right now online. Even tho I love watching films in the theater but I also don't know who to see this kinda film with. Should I wait or watch it now?
QUESTION: What distinguishes an A from an A+? It seems throughout this review as if this film is faultless. Why then did it receive an A and not an A+?What more could it have done to receive full marks?
A movie so good that it needs to get nominated for best supporting actor, best actor and director as sad native Americans are treated poorly to this day.
I loved this movie, when I read the last message at the end... I cried, I just cried reading it... it's so simple and yet so raw and enfuriating that did its job quite well.
The FBI agent in a movie is a symbol of dead girl. She's young, naive and she needed help. And Jeremy Renner was a symbol of a perfect father, showing up and saving her at the last moment and knowing everything. Also an FBI agent had the same looking panties as a dead girl.
I agree with you Chris. This is one of my fav films of the year. Powerful, haunting, great performances up and down the board, and Taylor Sheridan directed the hell out of it.

I feel like this movie is such an accurate representation of what Ingenious women go through when they are murdered and/or they disappear. It’s heartbreaking! 💔
I like how someone brought this up.
I feel like this movie is aimed towards MMIW
An excellent film on all counts! Birmingham's expression when he opens the door and sees his friend is raw and heartbreaking. Sheridan's script and direction are superlative.
Hey Stuckman glad to see you review this and also glad to hear its a very powerful film. I teach what goes in with the First Nations (Native Americans) historically and what goes on now. Kudos for giving it the spotlight it deserves. Would recommend reviewing the TV series Blackstone.
Afjshwjabxiaan!!!!!!!!!!! AHHH!!! BLACKSTONE!! I saw it on Netflix last year and it is one of my favorite shows ever. So underrated
I loved this movie so much. Taylor Sheridan is brilliant. Loved his writing in Sicario and Hell or High Water. He directed the shit out of this movie.
Joking aside, this film is legit good.
I can't stop watch this movie. Jeremy Renner plays a beyond cool guy. Elizabeth Olsen is a hero. We have to fix the Native American experience.
No joke - this is easily one of the GREATEST FILMS EVER MADE, PERIOD!!!!
This gets me even more excited. One of my best friends is Native American and i have had the great pleasure of experiencing his culture, so amazing. But ive been looking forward to this movie for a bit. Great review Mr. Stuckman. Love the videos.
Agh, I love Jeremy Renner! I'm so glad he's in such a good movie, can't wait to see this
Excellent review Chris! I felt the same way. My eyes were glued to the screen. Gripping, well written and beautifully shot. 10/10
Loved this movie completley took me by suprise and is my favourite movie this year
Thank you so much for reviewing this. I saw this trailer as an advertisement a couple months ago but I forgot the title and couldn't find it.
I grew up on a reservation and this is one of my all time favorite movies. Its so dark and hauntingly well executed
It hits like a damn cannon and the shootout towards the end reminds us all, we need a Marlin. Such a beautiful lethal repeater and his is a special colorway that looks incredible.
Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch? Awesome!!!
My favorite film of the year. Sheridans action is so efficient in all his films. No wasted bullets
RT if this is an A+ movie
You can RT comments?
Nice review, Stuckman. WR is my favorite film of the year behind Logan, and before Moonlight or Jackie. Right, this year hasn't been stellar, but I rarely give 9 stars out of 10 to a movie. Everything about it is brilliant.
Chris, can you please review Saving Private Ryan?
Holy shit yes please review it
I don't know if it's old enough for him to say he grew up with it yet.
That insult looks like it almost took a complete 15 seconds to make up, good job.
But cum wagon is funny.
some films just don't need to be reviewed. history has reviewed them itself.
Great Review Chris. I like you sat there for a while reading the statement at the end. What a good movie!
You talked highly about how great the film was, but didn't mention what was holding it back from it receiving and A+
Great review to a great movie. I felt the same. The performances were mesmerizing. This movie definitely deserves an "A" grade. Probably one of the best movies that I have watched in the past 5 years. I was drawn into the characters and their stories. Great job directing and writing this film!
Cowboy Bebop shirt) Ive just finished watching the anime, fantastic
This film's coming out in late September in my country. I really want to see it. I can go watch it right now online. Even tho I love watching films in the theater but I also don't know who to see this kinda film with. Should I wait or watch it now?
Amazing movie, should be one of the best of the year, at least deserving of one oscar.
QUESTION:
What distinguishes an A from an A+?
It seems throughout this review as if this film is faultless. Why then did it receive an A and not an A+?What more could it have done to receive full marks?
Great movie!!! THIS IS FILMAKING
A movie so good that it needs to get nominated for best supporting actor, best actor and director as sad native Americans are treated poorly to this day.
This movie was gold.
This. The parallel was deliberate. She is on her own in a male-dominated environment.
THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING. THE CHARACTER WRITING AND STORY WAS PERFECT! 🎥
goddamn i loved this movie. better than dunkirk. best of the year
I agree with you Chris. This is one of my fav films of the year. Powerful, haunting, great performances up and down the board, and Taylor Sheridan directed the hell out of it.
What a great movie! Superb performances all-round. Really captures the hardness of life out there. Just brilliant brilliant brilliant! Gonna watch it again now, but with beer, because it’s kind of depressing (but brilliant nonetheless). This should win an award!
i was wondering if this movie is similar to Sicario, as Sheridan again wants to show us one of the dark sides in the US, if so, i'd love to watch this movie
movie of the year in my opinion
Phenomenal film. As a canadian with aboriginal blood this hits extremely close to home.
What stopped it from being an A+?
There was no gay characters... he loves watching 2 men get it on.
I saw this movie today and it broke my heart. It also made me understand the hardships that some good policemen have to face.
I know why Hawkeye went to get Wanda in Civil War now!
So he could take her to this.
@Chris Stuckmann Great critique!! I was on the fence on see this one in the theaters. Now I'm sold!!!
