My opinion with Crowfeather's trial is that, while it does have this huge retcon with Breezepelt's character, if you just read it in a vacuum it's actually really good. I liked watching Crowfeather try awkwardly to repair all of his relationships.
All the old super editions about the first arc leaders just hit different tbh. They’re so nostalgic to me and that’s why I love them so much (and they were back when SEs were original stories and not just a rehashing of events from a different characters POV or a boring traveling story from a character we’ve already seen a lot of before). Also I love Crowfeathers Trial just because I love Crowfeather but I do agree it has a lot of problems. Like them needing to take an entire book for Nightcloud and Crowfeather to realize something we already knew anyways- they’re not good together and should only be Clanmates. And also they try to portray Breezepelt as this “angsty teen” when he’s like 25 and needs to grow up lol. Although I think it was super cute to see Crowfeather become close with Nightcloud and Breezepelt despite the retcon. Also also Onestars Confession was HORRIBLE. It redeems him for being a crappy guy throughout his time as leader and Whitetail forgives him for cheating on her and lying to her about it for YEARS in a few hours… like there’s being sexist and then there’s being sexist if yk what I mean.
Okay, edits for Onestar’s Confession: Novela, like you said; have it take place closer to the events of New Prophecy when the problems are really starting to show up and Onewhisker sneaks away to the twoleg place to try and forget; have Mudclaw be super aggressive with Onewhisker with Crowpaw gone because he slipped out while he was visiting Smoke (and have that meeting be the one where she says she’s gonna have kits); and Smoke and Darkkit show up right as it seems like it’s the end of clan life and even if it isn’t, Onewhisker would be crucified by his clan mates for having outside relationship now of all times and have him snap as a result of everything piling up. Doesn’t excuse his actions but gives context, and then you can make the reason for his heel turn after becoming leader because he felt he needed to put Windclan first and outside relationships would only hurt the clan. Doesn’t fix things, but at least it would flow better
Crookedstar’s Promise is so good! It’s my favorite book in the franchise too. I feel like it’s overlooked by most. Edit: Lol wow I went from strongly agreeing with you to strongly disagreeing with you about Crowfeather’s Trial. To explain my love for that book requires an essay but I don’t have the patience to write all that. To each their own.
tbf, it's been a while since I've read it so maybe my thoughts will change upon a reread. Its current placement was based on my initial reading when the book first came out.
I like Crowfeather Trial. I think the way they handled Crowfeather was interesting seeing how he acts around Breezepelt and how he treats him, wanting to defend someone he never cared for versus him wanting to keep his reputation and standing among the clans. I also find Moonkitti’s ‘I spoiled’ about it hilarious
Crookedstar has been and always will be my favorite character in all of warriors. After years of not interacting with the fandom, rereading crookedstar’s promise brought me back
Crowfeather’s trial would’ve been infinitely better if Breezepelt was the PoV and it started in omen of the stars to actually show character development as it progresses through the timeline
Crookedstars promise is my favorite warriors book of all time and Crookedstar is my favorite character so im happy to see it at the top of the best list
22:56 I don't think it's much to expect an established character to still act like the same person, instead of ditching him in favor of writing a new one in his place. I believe that's on the writing team to keep things consistent. (That's why this SE is bottom tier for me, in addition to the most blatant retcons in the series.)
Hey, just a question, before I read AVOS because i'm REALLY close to reading it, should I buy Tigerhearts shadow, I might just skim through an audio book though if I find it on youtube
Personally, I feel both Hawkwing's and Tigerheart's SE's are needed to understand AVOS. less so Hawkwing's, though it does fill in some gaps. Tigerheart's is needed imo, since it explains and ties into the later books of the Arc. Before you decide, you should definitely consult others since this is just my thoughts.
"Crowfeather's Trial, which had no promise and yet it's still terrible" LMFAOAOA I agree!!!! I think about how bad this SE is all the time - easily the worst SE in my opinion. The Erins trying to make the readers care about Breezepelt and try to portray him as misunderstood kid, despite him being damn near middle aged is crazy.
20:59 But the Super Editions aren’t an anthology. I guess you could say that the Super Editions exist in the context of all that came before, Warriors did not fall out of a coconut tree. Dumb meme aside great video!
For me the best : Tallstar’s Revenge, Crookedstar’s Promise, Bluestar’s Prophecies Worst in my opinion : Bramblestar’s Storm, Skyclan’s Destiny, and Mothflight’s something I don’t remember what it’s called lol
On greystripe and stupid people are like that sometimes no matter how old you are you find yourself making same mistakes at sixty four I do it’s human something you get better at mind set others not so if not the same for you I call you out but that is the charm of greystripe he’s good natured smart in some things dumb in other always good natured brave a good mate I argue considering the circumstances a good father and a good friend to firestar despite their bumps in the road in short he’s very human
Yeah the way you phrased this was very weird. Not only saying that he murdered (which he didn’t) but also heavily implying that he did it more than once. He has a much lower (non-existent) kill-count than many other characters with redemption arcs.

Too much effort. Just make it a Darktail SE so any negative perspective of Onestar can be hand waved as an unreliable

I just love crowfeather that’s why I love crowfeathers trial 😂

I liked your list!! I think tit was pretty nice to see someone else's POV on the super editions.
This was a great video! 😊 Would love to hear your thoughts on the novellas like Hollyleaf's Story, Pinestar's Choice, etc!
Crookedstar has been and always will be my favorite character in all of warriors. After years of not interacting with the fandom, rereading crookedstar’s promise brought me back
Crookesstar Promise is a good book!. I loved it so much, honestly, one of my favorite super editions besides tallstar revenge :3
I love Crookedstar’s promise and I completely agree with it being the best in the entire series
Oh i so agree with you on Onstars confession UGGHHh it frustrates me SO much loll such a bad, bad read.Almost the worst read in my whole life ahhh!

@ Ok! thanks
Very much recommend reading tigerhearts shadow first, I actually read AVOS first and I was so genuinely confused😂

Can you do this for all types of books
If that's what people want :)
Yeah
@@theblueblazing yes please eg the mainland acrs and novella and graphics novella

All three super editions i read could have used with more page's a more plot points with actual resonance. Also Bluestar's Prophecy > Firestar's Quest
32:54 Breezepelt never killed anyone
Yeah the way you phrased this was very weird. Not only saying that he murdered (which he didn’t) but also heavily implying that he did it more than once. He has a much lower (non-existent) kill-count than many other characters with redemption arcs.
He’s also never hurt any children
Where would one find this ranking for the super editions? Asking for a friend (aka me lmao)
God the times I want to get into the bramble and Squilf discussion but man is that topic just bad for both sides imo
Bluestar’s Phophecy is, in my opinion, a good story that is badly written.
interesting
