  • Lightning Run was the prototype Chance Hyper GTX roller coaster. This ride may be small in stature, but it packs a mighty punch. This miniature mega coaster offers ejector airtime rivaling an RMC.

    Wow, I've never heard about this ride until today ; thanks to your video I discovered it.
    Usually when I see this type of track and train I cringe, thinking it will be a painful, head banging, bruise inducing, badly designed and simply bad ride.
    But what a surprise !
    It looks like it has crazy ejector time, well designed transitions, great drops and cool original layout.
    Very interesting and appealing !
    When was it built / opened ?
    It's a Chance / Morgan, right ?
    It looks so fun, I'd love to ride it back to back.
    Seems like the most underrated and unknown coaster in the US (I regularly cross the pond to visit theme parks and ride coasters, I now have a new one on my to do list).
    Thank you so much for the discovery !
    Greetings from Paris

      This is smooth and intense. It's sort of like Nigloland's Alpina Blitz if you've ridden that.

    Hey, Canobie Coaster! More of these models should be built around the world!

    The layout was designed by Alan Schilke, so it makes sense that it runs like an RMC.

    I want one of these that's 200 to 250 feet tall. I think it would give a B&M hyper a run for the money.

      Chance actually lists Hypercoaster on their website, with the picture being of a Morgan hyper, so presumably that's the design they'd use. The Cedar Fair Morgan hypers aren't the best, but I've heard nothing but good things about Phantom's Revenge and Superman at Six Flags Mexico.

      @@collinparsons3363 Wow that's odd. Maybe one day we will see one. I think if they were to just take Lightning Run and double the scale, it would be an amazing ride.

      @Asshat237 2 года назад +1

      @@collinparsons3363 That’s because Chance and Morgan are the same company, they merged. A hyper twice as tall as this would destroy the cedar fair morgan trio of hypers.

    After your last video that mentioned this coaster I looked it up on rcdb. I was intrigued to note that the designer (Joe Draves) also designed ArieForce One. I know Schilke just designs for them as a consultant, he isn’t an rmc employee, but any word on why Draves got the AFO gig instead of him? Draves seems to be building up a solid resume.

      Not Canobie Coaster 😅 but from what I heard, Schilke is slowly moving towards retirement and it seems Joe Draves will be taking over in terms of taking his role..?

    This would be the perfect addition for parks in need of a cheap hyper like the Great Escape, Mt. Olympus, Adventureland Iowa, Michigan's Adventure, Magic Springs, Alabama Adventure, Wild Adventures, Holiday World and Silverwood. I'd suggest California's Great America, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and SeaWorld San Diego also but I don't think they have room as they're all landlocked.

    • @Asshat237
      @Asshat237 2 года назад

      it's not really a hyper (it's not even close to 200 feet tall). That was just the model name the company gave it. Nonetheless, it still seems to be a wonderful under the radar coaster. I totally agree with you. I have no idea why the model hasn't taken off. It's also dirt cheap.

    Really ashamed more of these "spirited" coasters aren't in more parks in both themed & FEC's. Those trains are sooo gorgeous! They also "handle" the track very well. Even a touch of theming could make endless possibilities of this ride. Great footage Canobie!
