This music just give you this feeling. I can't describe it.
I say what félin it thé féeling of city in hard working and you are in thé niht who see all this happened but you stay only spectator
It gives the feeling of the world of the men who live there in lake town, it tells us that they are a proud and strong people even if the city has seen better days.

I remember when I first saw Lacktown in the movie. I was delighted at how alien yet familiar Laketown was portrayed with it's different architecture and everything. Reminds you of what a rich and detailed world Tolkein created with so many untold tales.
Lacktown is a really funny type-o lmao
An honest working man's tune, is what I believe this theme to be. Gives me proud shivers.

I absolutely love how Laketown was portrayed in the movies. The scenery, the music. Tolkien created a world so vibrant and vast with different cultures, and different locations that it just sends shivers down my spine thinking about it. I am so in love with Middle Earth. ❤️
There's something that reminds me of the Rohan Theme in this tune. Both Rohan and Lake town are normal Humans (Not numenorians), somewhat struggling, living in the shadow of a greater kingdom (Gondor and Erebor), developed in the second movie (TTT, TDOS), it was probably done intentionally. Although this isn't my favorite Hobbit Theme, I think this is pretty clever.
Both Rohan and Laketown men are "Men of the Twilight", not being directly influenced by the deities of Valinor. In the appendices of LOTR, Rohan is said to have emerged from Mirkwood, so they might actually be related :D
They are also called "Northmen" since they are descendants from the people of Rhovanion (Lands between the sea of Rhun and the Anduin) the Kingdom of Rhovanion was taken over by Easterlings so the people went North to the Anduin and Dale and Laketown, Rohan was formed when Northmen went south(from the northern Anduin) to help Gondor with an Easterling invasion after a great victory the Steward gave the Northmen the land that would become the Kingdom Rohan.
Man I remember watching this movie way back in 2013. It wasn't the best compared to Lord of the Rings, but there's something about the Laketown theme that stands out to me. I think it's because those in Laketown are just ordinary people, not some descendants of Númenóreans that seem above everything else. Although they may not be "destined for greatness", they still embody what we, the ordinary people, can accomplish.
For some reason everytime I hear this song, I imagine Riften from Skyrim, I guess because of the corruption, and the fact that both cities are made above lakes.

No, Théoden's city from LOTR is Whiterun.
Whiterun is a clear copy of Edoras. All the "cities" (more like villages) in Skyrim are shit though, you need mods to fix them

Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo- doo-doo! Was humming this this morning and went crazy trying to think about where it was from.
Hearing this song, you can hear a proud and yet powerful verse informing you of the great city that the people of Laketown once came from. Then it is followed by the dark tones that became of it and how they only fell farther down, as well as those that only intend to sink it into ruin. It has a beautiful mixture of these powerful tones that soon mesh into the poverty and tragedy of the place.

I wonder if when Tolkien created Lake Town, he was thinking about a poor version of Venezia. Either way, I love both places.

I love this song and it was an awesome movie!
it's really just show some emotions how even bard and bilbo feelt when entered! bard's part was pride hard work and some noble feelings even if the life is hard and pity... and just showed how the peoples just support each other when they hided the dwarfs!
from bilbo's part it was the unknow the new and a majestic feelings how the humans can live here a so dangerous place even in middle of the lake also how their houses is so big!
I thought the movies had a lot of different problems but still thoroughly enjoyed them. The best part was probably the music.

Music is perfect but in the movie they were portrayed as whimps. In the book they were stronget
They were under-manned and under-equipped, which goes against the book I agree, since I liked the look of their weapons and armour and wished we could have seen more of them in battle. Still, the the Lake Men were portrayed as fully prepared to fight for their freedom and their lives even sandwiched between the much better equipped Dwarves and Elves.

Anyone else think harpsichords sound really creepy no matter how they are used? Seriously, every piece I have ever heard one used in has a creepy, foreboding feel to it, even if its not intended to. If you don't know the sound, it is the slightly grating/twanging metallic-sounding instrument that starts up around a minute in or so (slightly more perhaps).
Very intriguing insight. When I hear a harpsichord, I think of classical stuffiness. I can, however, definitely see where you're coming from in your assessment.

Lake Town is the coolest! Serious question: why can't a town like this exist in real life? Think of how many people/businesses it would draw...and everyone gets around by bridges and canoes.
