When I saw the decals, I said, outloud, to nobody, paint it purple! And you heard me!!!!! Lol. Fun fun fun build. It would be cool if the race cars, funny cars especially, included helmets that could be painted really cool, just to sit on the seats. You looked like you really enjoyed it! I am kind of surprised you do not have small mason jars of different pearls to add to clear coats to make them pop. I imagine a purple pearl on this car. Nighttime shows and races this car would be just beautilicious!
Could you imagine sitting over top of that rear differential, trying to see where your going, while your making a run in this car if it were real. Those early funny car drivers were crazy people. Good job with the kit.
The paint describes the Suicidal Pilots Mind as He attempts to keep this Awesome Beast straight down the quarter! I dig the frame an the Orange block,,, the whole thing. Great build, thanks, Unreal Stuff HP.
I built this model back in the mid 70's. Looked great. I think that "engine turned" cowling for the frame rails was from either the California Charger or Keeling and Clayton dragster kits. I could be wrong - it's been over 40 years.

Excellent excellent job. Always loved these AMT dragsters. This and the sister Stingeree, the nice little short ones of which they just rereleased the Vega wagon and especially Bugaboo/Infinitee series. There was a Maverick in that series that I hope makes the light of day.
kool , thanx....a neat thing about that kit , you can also just build it as a rail dragster , w/ out the body....thats what I did....still got the body , in the parts bin Robert
That one piece chassis is awesome! That's one of the main reasons I don't like building dragsters. The frame on most of them are so fiddly tthat it takes like 3 smoke breaks to get through them. This is a really nice model kit for a repop of one these novelty kits. That hemi and drivetrain is really nice. J
Nice build. Great finish as usual. It kinda reminds me of a street car, but not sure which one. Those decals must have taken some time too. Cheers, and thanks for sharing.
"Phunny Phantom" from 50 years past! Still, could be for contemporary bracket racing as a "weekend warrior" plus local shop "rolling billboard" == "Just for "fun"!
First time to your show. Nice job! In the introduction I thought it was an RC car! I love modeling! Hand made 1/4 scale would be achievable!? Sweet video!
Awsome Channel very informative !!! I wish they would come back out with " The American Graffetii " dragster ...probably licences issues ...like those old dragsters ( cuz I'm old ..Haha). Greetings from Detroit Michigan ..Autorama time soon ..!!!!! / T

My first visit. Do they still make that model glue that nearly poisoned a million kids back in the day?.potent. Also, you dont use air brush? or just not for this model? Ah,I remember putting together the 2' long Model T roadster model car from the 60's my brother in law had..that I put together in the 70's and wish I still had it...but I passed it on ( built) to my little cousin who now makes a fortune in income as a Lexus body repair guy(technician) for an upscale dealership. Rolling in money!
@@hpiguy Thanks!..Nice to see modeling done perfect. One last..you see those channels that do models with dioramas and have things like tanks firing?..the smoke is polyester fluff with a yellow or red diode to look like a real gunfire. Maybe try that on a dragsters headers?
@@StanTheObserver-lo8rx This channel is mostly about reviews of kits as they come. Two or more entire kit builds videod in one week, every week. No other channel is doing two full kit builds on their own every week, year round. Not much time to spend weeks on lighting and effects and photography/photoshop/video editing effects and such. Other channels are more about model making classes and teaching techniques and some have other people building the kits too. I'm a one man, one camera show. I teach what I can in many videos, but I mostly cover what's in the box and what you can make from it. Thanks for coming along for the fun!
I don't get funny cars. I mean, what's so funny about them? They don't even tell jokes! Really cool looking. Is it personal choice that the engine head covers weren't painted black (as all Hemi had their covers painted black; also, not a critique, just asking)?
@@hpiguy I read they all were. Well, Chrysler's ones, but only Chrysler used the name Hemi, even if they were not the only ones making hemispherical chambers engines. I'm not doubting you tho.
Very nice. 45yrs of modeling here. Still love this hobby.

My dad got this model for me while I was in the hospital recovering from surgery early '70's.
I had a lot of ear surgeries, and got a lot of models!
Relive a cool memory!
The pipes coming out of the engine are called, candles and when engine stars up is called lighting the candles ... nice looking kit and a must for me

What do you use to touch up chrome parts when you take them off the trees ?
Silver markers work fine, or a chrome pen.

Did someone actually build one like this in real life or is this just a strictly fantasy build?
