Did you leave them outside or in the house? And if the house...did you use a grow light or T-8 light? I have both. Don’t know which to use indoors. I think T-8 since I don’t want to promote flowers 🤔🤔🤔
Began rooting petunias by accident. My neighbor had a broken plant and went to throw it away. I was like hey... I'll take it. Stuck it in soil... And that's was it. Now I watched your videos I have 8 new happy and healthy plants 😊.
Thanks so much for this video..I have a 2 striped petunia pots that lived thru the winter.(Alabama).. outside under my eaves.. I just found your channel🙌🏽🙌🏽..so glad I did..
I'm so glad you did too! I've always wanted to visit your part of the country. I hear it's humid but I'll bet it's beautiful and lush with all the rain and heat through the summer.
OMGoodness Mike, my neighbor planted white petunias and they put on quite a show! They're on their way out (9/16) and I'm going to get clippings! Thank You for this video.........Blessings to You and Family!
Oh! Mike. ...Oh!.Mike......ive got 4 good growing Rose cuttings, i did 7 but 3 didn’t take, i am super pleased Mike because i followed one of your video’s on it. Just going to keep an eye on them now, they have little shoots on all 4 of them, Just thought I’d mention it 😃😃🤗👏🏼👏🏼🇬🇧👍🏼 Cheryl from UK xxxxx

I propagated some supertunia varieties this summer and they are taking off. Thanks to your tutorials, I’m looking forward to a successful spring. Thank you for your videos and enthusiasm for propagating.🌸
IF YOU ARE LAZY AND FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCT TRY THIS : I got a petunia few weeks ago. It had broken stems. I stick these stems into the ground and put some crashed peas and some ground coffee around (it works great at a compost). In no time they made flowers !!! Everytime I see a flower I cut it off. It made my little plants go stronger
Thanks so much for this tip.. I use a lot of coffee grounds around my rose and azelea bushes.. never used any grounds..and peas for potting medium.. I will try this..🥰
Hi Mike, I’ve been propagating plants a couple of years now after watching your videos and loving it. But now I am totally baffled at what happened. I had 2 petunia “mother” plants , 1 pink and 1 lilac color. Propagated the same amount of each from cuttings and this spring planted them in ground and in containers. The buds were’t open yet but I had labeled everything so now as the buds are finally opening they are all blooming PINK! WTH? I thought they would be clones of the original plant. What would cause this color change? I thought maybe I mislabeled but I have yet to see any lilac blooms anywhere. I’m so confused and a bit disappointed. I was landscaping based on color but now it seems I will only have a pink pallet this year🤷♀️ I guess it could be worse. Ps. I added chicken manure when planting to most. Would that cause it?
I’ve been following you for awhile now. Started my cuttings in a clear plastic drink cup with a lid. My family now knows I keep all the plastic drinking cups that have lids. If they don’t have lids I’ll use plastic wrap 😆
Hi Mike, you did a great job with the petunias. Mine were doing great in my coldframe and they were doing great until we had a frost that was not forecast and it went down to -15c. The result was a total loss!! Going to try again this year as I have a new batch of petunias. Grew these from seed that was given to me so no cost.!!. The compost here in the UK Mike is 99% peat free so I will see how it goes. All the best Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧🌺🌺
Another great video on petunias Mike. VERY DETAILED. I ordered Hormodin 3 like you advised. I will follow all the steps you outlined in this video and im gonna hope for the best. Otherwise I am gonna have to buy you a plane ticket to come and use some of your Magic on my cuttings. Will update.
Either pot up is good would love to see how fast they fill up a 4 inch can for ya. I bought so many PW petunias this year and I'm thinking I'm going to do this and some of the verbenas
I'm excited to try this! I just found some japanese beetles on my petunias tonight. Any advice on getting rid of them? They have been so bad the last few days
I would like to watch all you petunia videos in order of from propagation to keeping them inside over the winter. Do you have a recommendation on which one to watch first?
Hi Mike.....I watched this and while I don't have a hoop house, I could try it on a smaller scale. I just trimmed back my petunias in a barrel and hoping that I can get them to bush out again. Thanks for the video!
Mike, I'm having a hard time identifying and determining the correct order of all the petunia videos. Can you put them all in a playlist? Putting sequential numbers in the titles helps too.
I'd love to winter over some petunia's but live in Maine and our wintering over grow room stays between 50 and 60 degrees. Would/should we use a heat mat? It seems like with a routine of take cuttings, grow, trim back, grow and so on should work. We're talking indoor survival of 8ish months. With nursery plants we're talking $50 for 3 hanging pots. FREE unlimited plants your way. We've got pockets FULL of FREE. (being retired) TY Subscribed Great video Mark n Rosa
Thanks for subscribing and I'm glad you enjoy the videos. 50 to 60 degrees is more than warm enough to overwinter petunias. I had a petunia hanging basket in my hoop house last winter and assumed it would die, but it sprang back from the dead last spring. It freezes hard as a rock in there. Petunias are fairly resilient. Good luck and have fun! You never know, you may be selling some of those $50 baskets one of these years.
Mike if you don't have a video on prbgagating sunpatients, but do a video on that. Much appreciated. I have found these very tricky. Especially if you over water. I lost 85 because I did not remove from initial soil and put into regualr soil.

Thank you for all this information, if I cut it in the middle of may , do they bloom during the sumer? I live in montreal Canada, do I need cover it when in night around 5 to 10 degree c.
Yes, they'll bloom multiple times in one season if you continue to prune back. 5 degrees at night isn't the worst thing as long as the day temps are getting up there a little more. Growth will be slower until later in summer.
You are awesome for making these videos , I’m a new sub y amo las petunias , maybe the hanging basket is already done , And fo sure amazing results so I’ll be waiting for the video.

One quick question sir... can I put the petunia cuttings under a T-8 bulb indoors or would a grow light work better INDOORS??? I have both. Thank you very much. Please keep the videos coming. YOUR AWESOME!!!!!
I grew them indoors under t8 bulbs all winter long last winter and even made some videos about it! T8 bulbs work just fine for petunias. Glad you enjoy the channel and thanks for your support!!!
Mike a bought 5 brand new incubators and when I initially planted, watered and covered, the incubator steamed up but went away. So I watered again and closed the lid. It keeps doing this. Isn’t the incubator supposed to be steamed all the time after the first and thorough watering? Is this ok or is there something wrong with the incubator? Thank you so much, you are the BEST.

Everything I put in there rooted and is gorgeous. The roots attached to the inside of the pot. I’m not even going to put them in dirt because they lived all summer like that and are doing so well.
I did this last summer. I kept them through the winter. I now have dozens of petunias and didn't buy a single one. YAY!!!!!

Mike thanks a tonn for taking time to do these videos.. Can we not take cuttings in late spring like May end for Roses, pettunias and geranium?
Yes, you can take cuttings at that time for roses. Depends on your climate. What's most important is the condition of the wood.
Another great video Mike. Do you have any citrus trees. And I say basket.

Everything I put in there rooted and is gorgeous. The roots attached to the inside of the pot. I’m not even going to put them in dirt because they lived all summer like that and are doing so well.
Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sounds like you've got it figured out.
Waiting to see your 18bulb light place where you are keeping them thriving through winter
I'll get a video up. It's 8 bulb. I think 18 bulbs would grow a jungle, lol.
you can also upcycle rotisserie chicken containers into propagation totes!
Yeah, those would definitely make good propagation totes. Thanks for the tip!
