    Lot's of Easter Eggs here.
After Liz breaks up with Shaun, when he and Ed are at the Winchester, Ed's monologue about drinking actually foreshadows the entire movie.
"We'll have a bloody mary first thing in the morning (The first zombie they actually encounter is the cashier Mary) a bite of the king's head (A zombie bit Phillip in the neck) a couple of little princesses (Shaun went to pick up Liz, David, and Diane) stagger back here (They pretended to be zombies to get to the Winchester) BANG! Back at the bar for shots (They use the bar rifle to shoot zombies)"
I'm sure other comments will tell you more easter eggs.

They had the idea to do a film of some kind like this while doing a British comedy show called "Spaced" (there's an Episode that has a couple of zombie references, I think he is playing Resident Evil during the episode too much). It was co-created and written by Simon Pegg and directed by Edgar Wright. It also stars Nick Frost, and the girl who is the leader of the alternative group in this film.
It is worth watching if you get the chance, although it is very British and a little surreal.

So excited for this reaction. One of my favorite films of all time (along with pretty much all of Edgar Wright's films). Thumbs up in advance because I know you're going to love it! There are some great nods in the film to the great British TV show 'Spaced' that Simon Pegg co-starred in and co-wrote, and Edgar Wright directed. Jessica Hynes, who played Yvonne in this film, the woman he ran into three times during the movie, was Simon's co-star on that show, and so when she sees him at the beginning and asks him where he's living now, it's a throwback to that series because they were roommates in it. Also, a lot of the zombies in the film were fans of the show who they let be in the film.

I see everyone's beat me to recommending the rest of the Cornetto Trilogy but another excellent Edgar Wright movie is Baby Driver; a non-singing musical of sorts as the action follows the music. Another three great horror/comedies are (the classic) Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Return of the Living Dead, and Tucker and Dave Versus Evil.
As an aside, in the 1970s and early 1980s, channel 11 WPIX in NY would run Abbott and Costello Meets Frankenstein along with March of the Wooden Soldiers and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians as their Thanksgiving day line up. On NY's channel 9 WOR, it was the trifecta of the 30s King Kong, Son of Kong and the original Mighty Joe Young as their Thanksgiving offering. As kids we would look forward to all these once a year.

one of the funniest things about this movie is when you notice all the people that were in the movie actually come back as zombies in the horde. The zombie that comes in the front door of their flat was the guy behind Shaun at the corner store in line. The Zombie that was pushing the shopping cart was the guy he worked with who kept getting on his phone. Also, related to that phone call, if you listen to what he says, it is strongly implied that he was the one trying to buy weed from Ed at the beginning of the movie. There is so much tight, interconnected writing in all of these movies.

While I love this film. Hot Fuzz blows it out the water. The entire Cornetto trilogy are comedic satires of specific genres. You’re favourite movie is probably reflective of which genre you prefer. Zombies, Action, or Sci-Fi. Then again, there are a great many people who love Zombie and Sci-Fi more and still count Hot Fuzz as their favourite. It is a comedic masterpiece. There is literally a joke every 5 seconds. You need to watch it at least 3 times to catch everything.
Also, the Cornetto trilogy are not sequels. They do not feature the same characters. Merely some of the same actors in different roles. They are spiritual successors to each other more than anything.

Yes, Shaun of the Dead is the first in Edgar Wrights "Cornetto Trilogy". You'll see short glimpses of the cornetto references in each movie.. (Cornetto is an ice cream cone). Hot Fuzz and The Worlds End are great as well, each with their own style and characters (with some recurring cast incl. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost). Btw, that wobbly synth sound during the Universal logo at the very beginning is taken straight from the 1978 movie Dawn of the Dead which is the main movie that Shaun of the Dead is a mild parody of.

    Happy Friday Night Kazzy!!!!
This was such a fun film, with some surprising gore and heart (no pun intended) than I thought it would have considering it seeming very comedy forward.
The World's End is another good one. I probably like it even more than Shaun of the Dead. But all the "Cornetto Trilogy", which includes Hot Fuzz, is great.
Quick Story (You know me and my walls of text on a Friday night, or Caturday Nite)
Since World's End has to do with the characters revisiting their old neighborhood and bar hopping twelve bars for 12 pints over the night I had the brilliant idea to have a "Cornetto Trilogy Movie Night" with some friends where over the course of the night I would have 12 beers.
There were many different kinds, including those really dark beers (a friend used to brew beer) that really fill you up. And I remember a few things distinctly:
    1. There is a point where the body stops even trying to process alcohol. I think my body it figured I must have been being poisoned and to shut down.
    2. I involuntarily.....made room for more beer by early in the third film.
    3. At one point we ordered pizza from two different places. Let them race for the bigger tip.

Might not be a big movie buff and you’re reacting to a lot of films which is great but I have to give you props on your music knowledge it’s very kleptic and widespread it is quite impressive.

Created and directed by Edgar Wright starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as two friends who are trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately they're both incredibly incompetent and it's a wonder that they could survive anything
