John 6:[35] And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. [44] No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

I love your voices and your harmony. Joe your vocal range is impressive, your diction is clear, your tone is pleasing and your voice is resonant without excessive vibrato. Cathy you're not just a fine guitar player, you have a lovely clear and open voice; high and sweet like an angel's. Your performance is easily my favorite version of this song. My only wish is that you guys had sung all five verses, if not here, maybe you will do it in heaven- another thing to look forward to! God bless you, and thanks for your gift to me, and the whole body of Christ here on RUclips.

There are several comments about speeding up the song and that it's too slow. Well, this is exactly the tempo that I remember it. It is a worshipful and meditative song. Also, your guitar sounds like the guitar that I remember with this song! The pipe organ and guitar were played together, but it's the guitar that I would miss the most. Lastly, I didn't hear this song in a "folk mass." It was sung and played in a regular, Episcopal church. Like someone else comments, this is my favorite!

Thanks to my terrible curiosity, I was listening to a Death Metal band talking about extremely unethical things. It's nice to come here and know that there are still sane people around. Very reassuring.

Sr. S. Toolan was a music teacher at Mercy Burlingame. I believe she is still living and doing well.

Great hymn at ANY Mass: parish, episcopal, papal. No doubt that Sister Toolan was Jesus-inspired to write this meditation.

Well done guys. Nice to hear this classic done so well. I just posted my own version....just acoustic guitar and vocal. Blessings on all of you, your ministry and community.

Like "The Star-Spangled Banner", this hymn has a range of over 2 octaves, so we raise up (bad pun) that low note at the beginning of the second measure. Makes it easier on the congregation, too.

After having played this song years ago at church as a favorite, it's striking to hear these revised lyrics, with almost all gender references having now been removed.

Cathy: love your voice, especially when you sing, "up." I would like my parish, All Souls in South San Francisco, to sing this during communion. We have a 10 year old boy whose voice is clear and beautiful like yours is. I'm not in the choir and have no say in what is sung. The choir is accompanied by loud electric guitars - not my favorite accompaniment. Joe has a nice voice, too. Thanks.

Cathy: have you ever been asked to do wordless vocal music, not what we know as a cappella style, but with a guitar or organ and no lyrics?

It's nice but the tempo is too slow. There's an uptempo version of this with guitars and bongo drums that sounds incredible but I've been unable to locate it online.

Nope. That’s too fast. 1.25 is fast enough.
