This channel is doing a wonderful job at reminding us of the gool ol days. When we were together and loved each other. As i write this, Im fighting back tears remembering watching my grandma sitting on the couch snapping beans and shelling peas and shucking corn. "Gissom" reminds me of my uncle. He doesn't hold back from anybody. The angrier he gets the funnier it is, that old cranky buzzard. I love how everyone brings something to the dinner table, and everyone is welcome to "put their hands in the pot." This reminds me so much of my ancestors. Self-sufficiency is something that capitalism lured us away from, but it's something that we desperately need to get back to.
Yes it does remind us of how family, and friends would come together. I certainly miss the good old days. Families were so much closer than. Sunday dinners were always a big deal at grandma’s house. We do need to get back to that.
I’m just off the wall thinking when you mentioned Gissum’s name how he ended up with it. Could it be his favorite nickname because he would yell gissum liquor, gissum ribs, gissum whatever and he got that name handed to him. What’s your thoughts???
Art reminds me of my daddy. He was a country boy, a degreed engineer, but never forgot where he came from, and the country was NEVER taken out of him. He would take me sometimes to country folk cooking all kinds of things. Daddy was NEVER "too good" to eat or drink anywhere no matter how the home looked. Very humble. He and my mother would pay for 1/2 a cow and we filled our freezer. I never forget the look and smile on his face when he came home and loaded up the freezer. He would go hunting for deer, squirrel, rabbit and mke his homemade deer sausage. He would have the deer cut up like the cow and grin as he put it in the freezer. How I miss him and mother. RIP daddy and mother.
I found thid channel about 2 weeks ago and let me just say. This is my favorite channel on RUclips im from California but plan on moving to the country when I retire from my job.
I am so jealous right now. I haven't had home made hog skins in a long time. I usually buy pork rinds from the store and they're the puffy kind. Here in NYC, we can buy them at the local cuchifritos and they call them chicharon and sell by the pound. Thank you again for sharing our beloved Den Fen's cooking and knowledge with us.
Thanks for sharing local traditions of your community in South Carolina. You are not trying to erase your history. You are sharing the culture that many people want to forget. My hat goes off to you and the folks who are in your circle. By the way, I am a white Yankee.
Man I love this show and every time I see it, boy I get happy too see 👀 all the men having fun and fellowshiping with one another. God bless you all ❤❤😊😊
Mr Fennell, Catching up on my favorite YT channel. Some people just can't stand watching someone succeeding and giving us old country folk great down home video's of what we do in the country. It's just a dang shame! So I resubscibed to your CS2 channel. Hope the lowlife is real proud of themselves! Now back to catching up on all your awesome video's I've missed the last few months
I was kinda sad this morning, then I saw this video pop up and heard Den Fen laugh, and that instantly cheered me up.. and then he laughed again. I know he has award winning sauce, I know this, but he also has an AWARD winning laugh. Art make him laugh more in future videos. Lovin' It.!!
Omg those Golden Flake are my favorite skins. Used to Turkey Creek but I can’t find them anymore. But the absolute best were from my dad’s family in backwoods Alabama. Gimme some hot sauce and a lil drip of vinegar 🙌🏽
Can I get some of those skins.? I love this channel it reminds me of how my hometown use to be. Keep up the good work Art. I love wearing my Country style Tee shirt.
I’ve heard of older folks say if you dig a hole when the moon is not right you’ll have too much dirt leftover or not enough dirt to fill the hole back up
Denn Finn has the real stuff right there, there is nothing better than a pomegranate. I am a pomegranate lover, and did he say he got those off of a local tree? Stick with Denn-Finn, a very resoursefull fellow.🙂🙏❤️
