Hi Sarah! I’m a 71 year old grandma and I LOVE your videos!! I married way too young and never saw any of the country when I was young and fearless. I have three wonderful sons, so I’m blessed, but your videos make me feel like I am seeing the sights with you! I’ve binge watched all your videos and can’t wait for more! Thank you and be safe!!
I remember when you first appeared. You turned up in Nikki's van. You were very shy and said very little. Your transformation into a very confident person is amazing. As a brit it is a pleasure to follow you on your travels. Best wishes for the future.❤
Just so beautiful 😍, you have inspired me to take a week long trip and visit some of the places you went. Back in the 80's I was at Niagra falls, I am sure it has changed since then, but absolutely gorgeous 😍. It's too funny how you can walk into Canada and you get charged a toll, so weird!! 😀 Thank you for this beautiful video, stay safe, love you. 🥰🙂
Thanks for Sharing Sarah, absolutely enjoy your content with all the history and tidbits of your road trip and car camping encounters showing us these incredible places and who can not se the beautiful foliage. Be safe and Congrats by now on being a New Minted Auntie.
Great video Sarah!!! Glad you’re showing off the North East of the US. Doesn’t get enough exposure, beautiful lakes and mountains. I’m so glad the US has such a conservative approach and keeps these parks protected for everyone to enjoy.
Hi Sarah! As a teacher, I have to say you weren’t lied to. There are 5 Great Lakes not Finger Lakes. I doubt you were even taught about them. Glad you are enjoying your travels as we are watching all your adventures. Be safe!
I'm a 21-year-old pyrography artist, and I've been building a campervan in Northern Maine for the past few summers now... I'm planning on traveling the entire coast of my home state this summer, taking my camper bus/van for its first fully functional adventure! (with the best dog ever right next to me) I'm SOOO excited for what the future holds, and I'm also very thankful to have found you and all your tips. they will no doubt come in incredibly handy for the start of my travels. I'm planning on taking highway 95 aaall the way along the coast down to Florida come next fall. A lot like you... to escape the harsh winters... I wish you so much luck Sarah! Thanks for all you do!
I grew up in the finger lakes area, so this video brought back some great memories. Lots of picnics at Seneca Lake as a child, and hiking the gorge at Watkins Glen State Park.
Look at you... almost 50K Subscribers. You seem really tired. Everything okay? At 14:15, love the loose hair twist. Gorgeous! And your perma smile is super charming. The beanie is cool, as well. Thanks again for the geographical and historical info. Sorry your Finger Lakes visit was rained out. Been on my destination list for years, and now Letchworth State Park. This episode was all about the water... and fall leaves, of course. Great episode.
25:13 Even the most basic food can taste amazing after a hike surrounded by beautiful nature. Nice vid! I grew up in upstate NY (just south of Utica) and my family always went to the Adirondacks for vacations. I never went to that park in the Finger Lakes but it looks awesome.
As an European watching these episodes of your VLog postings is infact educational. Thanks for supplying actual information about the places you are visiting.
Letchworth state park is my back yard like literally!! 2 minute drive! When I tell you I’m always there I am. There’s so much more to see there than the waterfalls even though they are my favorite. I’m definitely lucky to call it home
Lifelong resident of western NY, and I've lived in Perry for the past 35+ years. Letchworth State Park is like 5 minutes away from my house. Spent endless time exploring the park. Can remember going up on the old railroad trestle as a kid, but that one's long gone now and the new one is in place.
Welcome to The Empire State. I’ve lived in the lower upstate New York area for my entire life as I near the age of 44. I love the area and how the seasons change with time. There is so much more to see here. However you did an excellent job of representing New York State. You are such a great storyteller. I absolutely love your personality! I feel like I’m there with you on this journey your on. Unfortunately I have not been able to get out and enjoy the entire state of New York as I am currently recovering at home from a near fatal massive stroke. Can’t wait to see where you go next!
Unless you like it very cold, or are a skier, wait until Spring or Summer! I grew up in the Adirondacks and winter is starting now with -20° below at times.
The snow and ice are beautiful too, just not as inviting. It's pretty cool. No bugs til the spring or summer. So it's a challenge no matter what season it is.
I live in the Buffalo area and am also a UB grad. So nice to see you show some of the beauty of NY and Western NY and the Finger Lake region, they are truly beautiful. Too bad about the rainy weather though. It has been such a warm and dry autumn. I think you picked the only rainy days all season! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Happy trails!
Sarah, this video was so beautiful, the colors and the view. I'm old now and can't do what you do. But watching your videos I feel like I'm there, it's a great feeling!
You're very close to Wilmington and Lake Placid NY, and at 3:18, you can see Whiteface Mountain and the Whiteface Castle on top. We LOVE this area, and stay there for about a week every summer. It's beautiful in fall, but you should it in summer, when the inviting swimming holes and waterfalls give you lots of places to cool off. At 6:15, you were at the Flume Waterfall and swimming hole, just outside of Wilmington. We jump off the rocks at the right, and it's even deep enough there to dive. At 10:14 is one of our favorite views: The entry drive into the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, looking across the Ausable River valley and up at the Whiteface Mountain ski trails. That gondola ride is fantastic! The 3 big waterfalls at Letchworth are amazing! Middle Falls is my favorite. Next time, you need to go see the huge number of waterfalls at Watkins Glen and Ithaca. The Canadian side of Niagara Falls definitely has the best views, but Niagara Falls State Park on the US side lets you get very close to the falls. So nice to see where you went in our beloved Upstate NY!
Oh I don’t blame you for chasing leaves, how amazing with all the colors thank you so much for taken us along with you. Love you videos and all the information you share.😊
Thanks for taking us along. I live in Phoenix, Arizona where we don’t really have any seasons. Just hot and more hot! Cool to see the actual leaves change colors.
i have switched to bone conduction for both home and work. i got some cheaper ones, so i get complaints about mic quality at work for calls, so i have to use traditional headset for meetings, but for general audio, they're great! i can keep them on all the time and still have conversations with people
Oh! All the reds, greens, yellows, oranges, golds, and browns. Isn't autumn the best? I love when you focus in like 2:35; those tight shots help me get in touch with nature around me and introspective about life. The GoPro worked! Awesome sunset video. Thank you for a fun and relaxing video, Sarah. Be safe and be well. 👍🏾💙🤍❤️🙏🏾
I haven't seen anyone respond to your question about how many Finger Lakes there are. I am 64 years old, and have for a long time known there were 11 Finger Lakes, but I remember a time when I "knew" there were 5 lakes in the Finger Lakes.
keep the vids coming don't stop, been watching you since day 1 and we love watching you. you have grown right in to this, good luck in life you have got it going on dont stop.
Wow ! This was such a nice episode in memory lane for me. I live in Massachusetts and just last week I watch you cover New England. I grew up in Upstate NY. I remember when I was younger my parents took us to Whiteface Mountain and all the way to the top there were actually snow it was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing such beautiful scenery.
Living in Maine for 45years, leaf peeping was always glorious. Now living in Southwestern Tennessee I definitely miss the colorful foliage but not the snow.
on the US side you have to go to Terrapin point for a great view of the Falls and also 3 sisters island for an insane up close view of the rapids. You can drive onto go island free parking and then walk a short distance over 3 sister island for the view of the rapids and then a short walk towards the Falls to Terrapin point.
Sarah some days are just whatever days, and you do whatever you want. Never rush your coffee time especially Nespresso it needs to be savored. I've been to the Canda side of the falls and it's amazing and you get the spray of the falls just by standing on the sidewalk. Great video can't wait for next week.
Awesome video, genuinely enjoyed this as one who has frequented QC trips via upstate NY's Rt.87 - really want to make it a point to explore upstate more versus just passing through all the time!
From where you were located at Seneca Lake - you were only 25-30 mins from Canandaigua Lake. I grew up and graduated from Canandaigua Senior Academy myself in the early 90's. You certainly missed out on an absolutely gorgeous lake and a lake that is one of the most expensive in the entire US to live on. We have people like Tom Golisano (Billionaire owner of Paychex), the Wegmans family (Owner of Wegmans grocery store chain) and the Sands family (Billionaire owner of Constellation Brands) who live on the lake, along with Hollywood and musical personalities. Geneva, New York, which is one of the areas that Seneca Lake borders, is just a few miles down the road from Canandaigua. Geneva has Sampson State Park (where the Navy and Air Force boot camp used to be during WWII that you mentioned) and the NY State veteran cemetery (formally known as Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery) just down the road from the State Park. The state park has camping sites, if you are ever in the area again and need a place to stay. The Finger Lakes is known for a wide variety of outdoor activities and is one of the best spots in the US for wine making and micro breweries. Vineyards in the Finger Lakes rival Napa Valley. The city of Canandaigua (there is a town as well) sits right on Canandaigua Lake and boasts some of the most beautiful Colonial homes, some built as far back as the 1790's. Canandaigua (pronounced ka-nuhn-day-gwuh) is one of the oldest cities in the Finger Lakes region of New York and its name is derived from a Seneca Indian word meaning "The Chosen Spot". I could go on and on about this area, its history and all the attractions, but safe to say, you need to come back and spend a week here to take it all in. Also, if you ever come through again, let my wife and I know and we will ensure we take you out for a "garbage plate". You should have heard of them during your time at collage in Buffalo 🙂
I have born in raised in New York. My favorite spot is The Town of New Paltz, off the turnpike. There is a hotel, Mohonk, that sells day passes, (Or at least used to when I was last there). You can't use any guest accommodations but miles and miles of hiking trails. Check out their 45 minutes if you hurry or 2 hours doing a relaxes pace of rock scrambling and ends at the 'Lemon Squeeze'. Its just that, a crack or slot canyon rock maybe 12 inches wide and after 10 minutes of working your way up inside, you pop your head out of the 'crack' to amazing views a few hundred feet above the tree tops.
I grew up in upstate New York, and I also thought that I learned there were only 5 finger lakes… thank you for sharing the autumn in New York vibes! Great videography, editing, and music, as always!
Thank you for giving me a “virtual tour of home”, I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY, which isn’t far from Lake Placid and Vermont. You are definitely hitting each place at the best time for foliage but I’m sure mornings are a bit cold. A heating blanket would be a nice addition if you plan to stay in the north country for a bit longer. First snow should be flying very soon, and then it turns into a winter wonderland… You mentioned skiing and there are really great ski mountains, also hills for sliding and places to skate, snowmobile, and snowshoe! I’m loving the longer videos! They are so enjoyable! I can’t wait to get out on the road myself. Safe travels & thank you for sharing your journey with us! 💙🩵🫶🏼🩵💙
You need to check out the bone conduction headphones, it allows you to listen to the music from your temples and keeps your ear canals free so you can hear your environment! I am an ultra runner and they are game changers and you can listen without anyone else hearing. Love the channel! New England is the best!
New York is an absolutely beautiful state. I live in the Hudson Valley area and can't imagine living anywhere else. The Adirondacks are awesome! It's nice to see young people enjoying the outdoors instead of being inside glued to a computer screen.
Sarah when you hit your funny bone its never supposed to be funny for yourself lmfao its funny for the rest of us 😛Love your videos thank you for them from another New York Resident except down in Orange County 🙂 It's amazing how beautiful our state really is without knowing it when you live in or near the city all the time and when you travel out of the area and see what NY really has to offer its amazing! 🙂
If you get down to the south, the gulf beaches are some of the whitest sands and best beaches around. Gulf Shores in Alabama has some beautiful places to visit, and food to eat. And it's warmer than the north for camping....like Nikki in Alaska tent camping would freeze me to death..lol. Also, since you love views, Gatlinburg, TN and The Smokey Mountains is a must. The Appalachian trail is up there, so you could hike a little bit and say you've done the trail. The town is gorgeous, as is the mountains. Cades Cove is a driving thru in your car tour of nature and areas that I believe you've love. Might see wildlife like deer and bears, too. There's camping in the areas around if you do a search. The southern US in the fall is like Vermont with the beautiful leaves. We think we live in heaven down here..lol. Thanks for the tours. Nice to see around the US with you and Nikki since I cannot travel like that anymore due to health and finances. I appreciate you all for bringing me along.
When you make it to Aspen they too have a gondola to the top of the Ajaxs, ya. Get an all day pass or a 3 day pass and at the top is a restaurant and the view up their is magnificent for sure. Thanks for the video, Sarah.
Always stayed on the Canadian side because motel rates were cheaper and then exchange rate made it even better. And light show more dramatic on Canadian side. One year stayed there around New Years and the falls coated in ice made it really something to see. And now have to go to Letchworth State Park because it looks amazing!

Sarah, that was badass to go to Canada and back to the USA in one day on foot exploring! ❤
Love your fall trees colours. We don't have that in Australia , Eucalyptus trees don't change colour in our Autumn. 😢

Wow the trees looked beautiful when you were going up the gondola 🚠
You need to check out the bone conduction headphones, it allows you to listen to the music from your temples and keeps your ear canals free so you can hear your environment! I am an ultra runner and they are game changers and you can listen without anyone else hearing. Love the channel! New England is the best!
New York is an absolutely beautiful state. I live in the Hudson Valley area and can't imagine living anywhere else. The Adirondacks are awesome! It's nice to see young people enjoying the outdoors instead of being inside glued to a computer screen.
We love your vlogs and adventures, Sarah, and you've got a good mentor in cousin Nikki! Good wishes from here in the UK (England).
Hamden/Mt. Carmel Ct. has the Sleeping Giant, 20 minutes away is West Rock which You can opt to drive up. All of these areas have super views.
Thanks for showing off Central and western New York! I live 30 mins east of Syracuse. Sorry for all the rain! Glad you enjoyed your visit!
Thanks for showing me the Falls, I am enchanted with this view .❤
Robbinsville,North Carolina. South of the motorcycle mecca #TailoftheDragon.
When you make it to Aspen they too have a gondola to the top of the Ajaxs, ya. Get an all day pass or a 3 day pass and at the top is a restaurant and the view up their is magnificent for sure. Thanks for the video, Sarah.
the bridge and the waterfall looks awesome
Great vid Sarah! I can't believe how touristy the Canadian side has gotten since I was a kid.
So cool that Sarah walked to Canada
Always stayed on the Canadian side because motel rates were cheaper and then exchange rate made it even better. And light show more dramatic on Canadian side. One year stayed there around New Years and the falls coated in ice made it really something to see. And now have to go to Letchworth State Park because it looks amazing!
