Never apologise for the history bits, Lisa…it’s what sets you apart from everyone else and is truly fascinating (to me at least). Love the passion you have for your art ❤
I agree!!!
My thought, exactly!! ♥️
Agreed I really wanted to hear more about her work on Wednesday and gothic makeup research in particular
Exactly why I watch her! The history and her color description transport me !
That's true 💯🙌
Being able to pull off this look so beautifully on a not teenager or a twenty something girl's face is an Art.
But to be fair Lisa looks gorgeous and she has perfect skin.
Actually this is my favourite look being 45, it really cuts back the age, everyone says, highly recommend 👌
@Genevieve I don’t think she is in her 50’s yet. I vaguely remember reading something that mentioned she was born in the mid seventies which would put her in her mid to late 40’s.
Maybe it was in her book?! I’ll delve into that. I could be wrong of course! She’s stunning whatever her age is.
@Genevieve Lisa is 48. Born in 1974.
This sounds like a backhanded compliment
I watched Lisa when I was obsessed with makeup at age 15-18… now I’m 24 and I rarely wear makeup. Just want to say Lisa you are so lovely and you haven’t aged a day. Thanks for teaching me everything I know about makeup
The best take ive seen yet! I often see other people use straight up red, which is a look, but I think can look more like sunburn rather than the flush u get from being in the cold 😗 and I agree, the lip is very korean/chinese style, but what I like is it’s the updated version where you blur the first “base” color outside the lip line so u get more shape. The older version (which i see a lot of people do on social media in the west) involves putting concealer on your lips and just the color in the middle, but i find that it can give u this strange “pursed lip” look 😮
Hi Eddie, love your videos so much
REMEMBER Edward, so many only think about their looks, their money, their results, in egocentric ignorant and brainless consumption way; Lisa, on the other hand, has wits, guts and love - all her products are free from gruesome animal torture.
Does anyone know what products she's using for this one?
@@shannonhampel6006 They are Cruelty Free Vegan
that detail of blending out the edges so that it doesn’t look fake is why I love the end result more than other takes I’ve seen
Thank you XX

The effortless way that Lisa can completely erase a blemish is nothing short of magical.
Agreed
She has LIVED by Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage for as long as I've ever seen her videos. It must be doing something right :P
As a makeup artist, I love it when you talk about the 90s. It takes me back to when I discovered Kevyn Aucoin and all the sudden I was making my own blush/bronzer colors (I have to say it was beautiful 😂). ❤ It makes me really happy. 💋
I miss those days!
the history is not at all boring, tracing makeup trends is fascinating!
Indeed, and also, love it when Lisa subtly is like, “Sorry, TikTok kids, everything you think you’re inventing, I already did in the 90s, and more edgy to boot”. Bam. Love that.
I completely agree!!!
@@kg8487 I was already starting to do this look during the *summer* before it even became the "I'm cold" look as a way to save time while getting ready for work in the morning. Funny how some of the things you've already been doing for a while all of a sudden go viral.
This reminds me of the "Drunk Girl" blush that was popularized by Japanese and Korean girls around 2016-2017.
Igari makeup! Really not that long ago. I think the rest of the world then was still stuck on the oversculpted thick brows and super-matte everything look
yes!! I remember doing my Japanese trends video around that time and talking about exactly this … xx
Drunk girl? Never heard that. Awful. I’ll stick to the healthy outdoors look. Hah!
@@Donna-cc1kt lol exactly. People look good drunk when you’re drunk.
The mascara primer as a snow flake substitute is genius. 😻
Now, I had to stop and "rewind" the videos when you used the mist. I love mists in my skincare routine, and knowing your products there is always a twist on them which makes them all the more special. So, I can't wait for it to be available. 🥰
I did the stop and the rewind too😂
As someone who has fairly mild rosacea, I am actually excited for this trend! (But I totally understand other rosacea sufferers wouldn't be.) Instead of using foundation/blush on my cheeks, I use concealer on the edges of the redness. I've learned that sometimes it's just better to embrace my natural flush than to fight it.
As someone else with rosacea, I realized it's a lot easier to even out the pink than conceal it completely. As you probably know, rosacea flush likes to splotch, and if you conceal it via the usual layers of green concealer and foundation, I find it can simply have a mottled look still peep through.
Me: live in a Nordic country where I get winter flushed every day without any makeup
Also me: dropped everything I was doing for this video
But seriously Lisa, this is honestly the best take, I love how natural and easy you made it. I've always struggled with blush placement, but now I know what to do thanks to you 🥰
It would be so amazing if you could bring Jenna on your channel and walk us through the process and show your storyboards. I love hearing about how you create.❤
Hi Lisa! Please do a tutorial on modern goth makeup! We need it
Yes! That would be great 😊
would love that as well!
That would be great!!
it looks sooo beautiful and the glitter at the end, made everything look kind of magical. so pretty 💮💜
I loved watching you do your version of this look! I would love to see your original looks from years ago! Thank you for making another video for us! ❤️ You are loved!!!
Lisa there is no such thing as a boring make up history lesson coming from you. This look is so fun ! especially with the glitter at the end ! I'll keep an eye out on instagram for those looks you did in the 90s, I'm curious to see what a less glam version of this make up would look like
This is the most beautiful take on this I’ve seen, you and Betty look like angels! I’m excited to try it with these instructions 💖
The reason I appreciate you so much is how well you explain so we'll. Your passion is so obvious and it even rubs off on me
Such a treat to watch you create a look … just amazing. Thank you for the glorious new products in 2022 - can’t wait for 2023!
Always love the history lesson!! Your knowledge and expertise is what makes your videos so special!! 💜💜🥰
Brisk and ethereal, like a modern Anna Karenina scene. The glitter adds the sense of an elven queen.
This is hands down one of my favorite looks I’ve seen you do (and I’ve been watching your channel for like 10+ years). It’s so pretty and so striking while still being really diffused and natural. You did a great job!!
This is the only cheek/blush look that works on my face. I've done it for years. Now I know it has a name!
Same for me! It's the most universally flattering way to wear blush in my opinion. I had to figure it out by myself, so it's kind of funny to see how this is a "new trend" to some people but just an old habit for others.
Beautiful! I like that Lisa has made this so universally wearable. I will put in an order for that highlighter, it really made the eyes twinkle
LOVE the history lessons, please never stop! Gorgeous look!
Happy new year to everyone.
Thank you Lisa for your wonderful videos.
And makeup we all love.
Sending love and prayers from uk.
Absolutely love all your content and the history and origins behind looks and trends. I adore you and your passion for what you do. Thank you Lisa! Can’t wait for your mist! ♥️
Wow! So pretty! I did a video of this type of look ages ago before anyone was talking about the cold, frosty girl! Love it!
Loveeeee the last touch of glitter !!! Also the mascara primer used to mimic little snow on lashes is genius 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 always love your looks ❤
so beautiful and the glitter at the end was just perfect!
This video is such a joy to watch because we can tell how much you enjoy doing this particular make up. It definitely looks so pretty and youthful! 🤩
Such an elevated take on the trend, fascinating bits of history and casually dropping you did the make up prep for Wednesday…. All in all, perfection ❤❤❤
I love using Benefit's Love Tint blush/lip tint to create a rosy, just-came-in-from-skating look. Long-lasting as well, as a tint!
Absolutely love hearing about trends and history. Also love your artistic touch!! Lovely as always 💖
I just adore you Lisa! Thank you for all that you do for the beauty community!
You look gorgeous! These soft, cool colors are really becoming on you, Lisa.
Lisa, you are a breath of fresh air. I absolutely love your calm, educational videos, and your BBC program about make-up throughout history. What a gem.
I would love to see a video with someone who suffers from melasma. Your take on minimum products that can be used quickly before work would be much appreciated. Also a run down of the best skin prep and products that will not settle into pores and creases.
The thing which is most unique in your channel and what catches the attention is your charming voice which already gives reassuring asmr and your utmost perfection makeup skills that just makes it to the BEST makeup channel ever….❤❤❤❤
I converted it in a tropical look bij using gold and corals and dewy finish spray, I love it! Thank you Lisa, Happy New Year!
Ms Lisa.. you are truly amazing. Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge and experience.
Thank you so much for always bringing in the history of makeup - I so love it!!
Absolutely gorgeous wintery fresh!!!
I am 52 and you are a true inspiration I have enjoyed watching you and trying many things! I own a few of the liquid lurex eyeshadows and ever since wearing them I haven’t stopped receiving compliments. I am in love with them all❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for creating them😘
I am sooo inspired by the glitter at the end. gonna use the same technique. Thank u Lisa!
Every time I hear of the cold girl I think of your Lisa Eldridge blush on mountain walk and when you described that color when you first released it! I have been doing it since then with thar blush color when I want that look!
Your videos are such a treat. Much of time I don't know what to focus on - your voice, the history/ stories or the actual makeup? I end up watching several times to take them all in. Such a lovely pleasure to get a new video from you! Love from Portland, Oregon.
I love the look! Especially with the addition of a little more glitter!
You are simply amazing!!! This is a beautiful look! Love your sharing makeup history! So very fascinating! Thank you for sharing!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Such a pretty make up look! Tq Lisa ❤️
Such a beautiful look Lisa!!! Thank you for this and the lovely history lesson!! ❤
I missed your video Lisa, in the last two days I watched some of your old tutorial videos, and today you give us this beautiful look. Please don't hold back with the stories of your work in the past, it is one of the reasons why we are here. Happy New Year. And looking forward to your next launch
Your history lessons are never boring. For me, this look brings back a nice appreciation for velvety matte skin complemented by strategically placed glimmer & shine, which I was all about in the 80s. Your take on it is wonderful.
I enjoy watching your videos so much. They are so informative and you show how the tiniest bit of make up makes such a difference.
Plus,You don’t rush like so many videos on here.
Thank you Lisa xxx ❤
You look like a modern day Belle from Beauty and the Beast in this look!! Bonjour beauty!! 😍😍😍
I always love hearing your history lessons! I got your book for Christmas and it's given me such joy!
Lisa you are The Best... I've followed you for years and I have never found anyone as good as you. You are REAL! Thank you for all you do... xxx 🌸
I totally wanted to see a live shot of the beautiful kitty! Particularly liked the lips (hadn’t heard of Korean lip!) and the touch of white on your lash tips. Thank you for another great video. You’re truly an artist ❤
Always inspiring💫💫- definitely enjoying the cold girl look - been into it too🥰😍
Its beautiful as always.. love your take because it is suited for mature faces as well because of subtlety of colors. I had seen Cold Girl Makeup trending on RUclips and Insta but wasnt sure it was something I could adopt, but your thumbnail and video made me open up to this idea of color placement. Oh I and I used to love those looks with exaggerated blush starting right in the undereye area back in the 2000s. Vogue used to be my inspiration for so many things back then
I could listen to you talk about makeup history and technique all day long. Also I love all your lipsticks but Velvet Beauty is one of my all time favourites! ❤️ xx
Absolutely gorgeous look, you look so pretty 🥰
Hi Lisa. I do love to use my lipsticks as a blusher ( and had been doing this as far back as in the late 1970s/early 80s) and to hear you doing the same trick with a lipstick as blush just made me feel better that i'm not doing some kind of makeup crime. Thanks for the reaffirmation, as well as other tricks. Your lipsticks are btw my all time favourites.
Happy New Year to you!
Thank you so much, Lisa. You are so inspiring. Wish you all the best for the new year. Greetings Katrin
Love the glitter!
For someone with background in drawing, painting and fashion these are so lovely to watch. Talent mixed with knowledge and heart. Just perfect!!!
Gorgeous look! I remember seeing this type of look back in the 00s, and I personally love seeing it come back! It reminds me that no matter what people just love to play around with makeup ❤
Great Video as always! Thank you Lisa! Love the look, you add so much class to anything you touch
Its always fascinating hearing you talk about the history of makeup Lisa - this is such an elegant take on the cold look ! ALSO! 👀 I see a seamless skin face mist !! Exciting 😍
Lisa
I love how natural that look is! Your historical references and influences is what sets you and your makeup apart from anyone else! Please continue!
I love this look as well as I love the sunkissed/windburned look. Thanks for the history and thanks for your amazing technique. Happy New Year!! xo
I had a funny experience with Cold girl makeups… I did it and thought I looked really awesome… and then I went for a walk with friends in winter market … by the time we made it to the dinner party, my nature red cheek from the cold+make up made me look like an apple with frostbite 😂😂. My friends all thought I have hypertension, needed medical attention. Lesson learned… no walk in cold for prolonged time after applying makeup for party 😅😅😅🎉🎉
I absolutely love when you dive into makeup history! I love the way you talk about trends, tracking them back to their origins and linking them to societal attitudes at the time. Then, also discussing how they evolve as they're brought back around each time depending on new makeup technology/influenced by other trends. It's what makes your videos so endlessly fascinating (on top of the fact the makeup is just gorgeous! I don't think there's ever been a look I wouldn't wear!) Honestly, I feel like when I hear you talk about makeup it feeds my soul! Please open a school... I was a BA Hons in Lisa Eldridge Studies. (No joke, I'd quit my job and take out a second student loan for that!)
That lipstick shade is the prettiest I have ever seen!! 🥺💖
I grew up in a snowy winter climate and used to put Dior Show Ice Pearl on my eye lashes for a winter look
I love it Lisa!! And that mist. I got my eye on it! 😊
Dear Lisa,
I love your videos. Always so therapeutic and elegant.
I got your book Face Paint and I love the history knowledge in the book. Makeup is more than just colors and beautifying the face, and you helped widen my perspective on it.
Many thanks and appreciation for your sharing and knowledge.
Have a great year ahead!
This is so fun and youthful, loving it 🥰 and as always, thank you for sharing bits of history (your own ad well of makeup) ❤️
Wow, you are truly an artist! I love this look so gorgeous yet simple. Happy New Year Lisa!
Love the “history lesson”, and always love sneaking a peak into your creative process! You’re amazing!!
Lisa, this is wonderful and so pretty! I typically keep my makeup very minimal, but this is such a chic way to add in a few fun aspects to the look, while still remaining natural. Thank you for sharing!
Icy good, Lisa! Your attention to detail is always amazing. Lots of Love.
Thank you for acknowledging us people from the southern hemisphere! I'll definitely follow your tips and give it a shot despite this hot weather! I loved hearing a bit about the behind the scenes of creating the make up look for Wednesday on Jenna Ortega. I ADORE the final result! Wishing a great end and beginning of year! Love from Argentina 💖
Gorgeous, it’s such a different look to what you usually do. But it’s so fun and beautiful ❤
love it! and love the makeup history lessons too - keep them coming:)
Love your videos, I watch them every day during my morning beauty routine 😍
i feel like people from the southern hemisphere are always giving disclaimers when making season-specific tutorials, but i think this is the first time i hear it from someone on the north hemisphere! that really brought a smile to my face, props to you, lisa! much love from brazil ♥️♥️♥️
We can just substitute the blue-toned pink with a golden peach blended into blonzer and it's a holiday sunburn look 💕
I always love the make up history lessons. You are my fav make up artist! I was wondering if you could do a video discussing older make up trends that have made their way around again
You are a true Make Up ARTIST! Love your videos
Always so interesting and fun to watch your videos! Thank you!
As always Beautiful look Lisa ❤ really enjoyed your lovely tutorial lesson. You’re the best! Will try it out. Thank you 🎉❤❤ Happy New Year xx
I always jump right to your description boxes to see if we’re getting sneak peeks of new releases 🤩 🎉
Great Look, Lisa. I love to listen to your history bits! You are such an artist and beautiful person!
Beautiful look and the history facts make it so special as well! We love hearing your stories!😊
This is such a fun look. Thanks!!
Lisa, this is so beautiful! I love the history behind it. I’d love to see some of the photos from the shoots where you did this look. Happy New Year ☺️💖☺️
So pretty! Thanks for the tutorial and gorgeous artistry!
This is absolutely stunning, so cool and fresh!
This is fascinating, Lisa! I remember those magazine covers from the 90s and I think I’ve seen it in my Peter Lindbergh book as well… There’s no nicer feeling than walking into a warm pub after a crisp winter walk and this look encapsulates that feeling so well! Your cat is gorgeous, too😻❤️xx
You never disappoint my queen 👸🍾💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽
I really enjoyed the look❄️ Happy New year Lisa
