Keren Coen, she has featured plenty of black models, if you would give cursory glance at her video history, especially considering the fact that she is in London, not America where there is more black people. In fact she features a lot of South Asians, which are a large population there. Don't speak such racist and ignorant comments on such a great channel.
"Noone could pay me enough money to sell my integrity." ... There you go. My kind of people. We adore you, good to see you back, Lisa. xx.. RIP KEVYN AUCOIN. Hard to grasp that it's been 16 years. Loved when he made an appearance on SATC. X
It's such a small thing, but I love how he repeatedly refers to her as "Emily" and not just "the model" or "her." What a mark of professionalism and respect to treat everyone who sits in your chair with diligence and respect, regardless of whether or not they're paying you for your services or you're paying them to demonstrate your skill.
Tina Earnshaw always referred to her model by name, but when she wasn't referring to her directly would say she gets the model/actress to look in a specific direct to aid in the application.
what an incredible privilege to sit in my house and watch a masterclass for free. Thank you so much for this !!!!!!! His comment on the contouring being like a bad toupee made my day xD
My thoughts, exactly! What an absolute treat for us all. I'm so inspired with every upload. The wealth of knowledge she shares so selflessly makes her such a treasure.
I love that you use models with acne sometimes. It's really hard as someone with acne to feel okay with our skin, but your videos make me feel like I could treat my skin softly and with care, and enjoy makeup just as much!
"You shouldn’t be able to transmit radio signals into outer space with your highlighter" THE SHADE! 😂 Thank you Troy and Lisa (and all professional MUAs) for reminding me time and time again of the difference between a real artist and someone who makes millions just by caking on loads of makeup 🤩
I thought that the blusher was too much, until the lip went on, then I had a word with myself for even questioning a genius! I love how chilled he is, I love how he made the model have a little giggle, and I love her eyebrows, they are perfect! This whole look is perfect.
I love that he worked under Kevin Aucoin, the master of contour, the man who brought drag makeup to the masses - and still holds to Kevin's original intention to keep contour and highlight subtle. I just makes me miss Kevin even more! The beautiful human inside and out, that I never met. I can't wait for the movie. Thank-you Troy for giving us a peek into your own mastery, and Lisa for being confident enough in yourself to share your platform.
I spent the first few minutes of Troy's tutorial acting like one of those reluctant tourists who goes to the Louvre for the first time, stands in front of a painting and says, 'I don't get it. Is this it? I could paint that with my eyes closed'...but he shut me up rather quickly. I loved his technique, how he used such a light hand and blended, blended, blended. I don't even know how he ended up making that blush work. It was such a privilege to be able to watch this. Thank you, Troy! Thank you, Lisa! 🧡✨
Agreed! His technique is much the same for makeup application for older women, proper preparation and blending the product out creates a diffused look that is kinder to older skin.
From the moment he put the lip on this went from beautiful make-up tutorial to a video installation I would happily sit and watch in a museum. The colours, his hands and bracelet against her skin, the eyelash curler, her profile with the hairdo on that beautiful red with the dark lipstick and the stark skin. This is what being miles away from random beauty gurus means.
Can we just take a moment appreciate The length Lisa went to help us and educate us with her channel inviting all these amazing professional make up artists to do make up tips and tricks etc. Thank you Lisa xxx love from Scotland
And just like that, The House of Eldridge brings us all a free 30 minute masterclass with the iconic Troy Surratt. I'm completely gobsmacked... Lisa, thank you so much for your endless integrity and generosity. And thank you Troy for your willingness to participate. My inspiration cup runneth over!! 👑🙌💜
Something I love about professional make-up artists is that their focus is more on the effect of the make-up used, while beauty gurus focus more on the products used. Weirdly enough, watching professional make-up artists actually makes me more confident about using make-up because it makes me think that I don't have to spend too much and just make do with what I have.
Lisa, was it necessary to blow me out of my chair upon the first video of your return? It seems anything is possible on this channel, literally. Troy Surratt sounded so serious and soft-spoken... I was not prepared when he suddenly unleashed his sense of humor. His explanations and tips are also SO easy to understand. Such a treat to see the enigmatic Troy Surratt!
Easily the most professional beauty channel. An artist doesn't make it about them, it's about bringing out the beauty of others. It takes talent to conceal acne whilst allowing freckles to shine through. A treat, thank you!
Loved your intro Lisa! It's not just your talent and class that we love but your integrity as well! You've stayed real in what has become a very superficial RUclips world.
I feel so validated. It’s such a small thing, but I love putting eye drops before makeup if I need to look my best. I thought I just had garbage eyes because of insomnia, so I’m happy to see a pro also doing it
The blush made her look like a cherub from a rococo painting lol I loved it. I often use my lip color as a blush when I’m on the go. As a plus, when I use a tinted lip balm it also moisturizes my cheeks as blush lol.
Such a lovely model. Her hair color is gorgeous 😍 I adore Jean Harlow ❤️️ I am an old movie addict. Particularly 30's and earlier. Forties too, but 30's and silents are the best in my opinion 💞💞
I LOVE what he said about contour being like a toupee. And the blush technique was great too. I read some comments asking about the model. Check the description box. I also want to say in this days and age and where Makeup is going on RUclips, with many people doing the same looks using the same products and the same techniques this channel is such a breath of fresh air. I love the light touch and real tips from true professionals. Less is more. This is A+ work. Thank you!!!!
My god i almost feel like I should pay for watching this or something Lol..people pay thousands and people charge thousands to give away these tips and hes doing it for us for free! Tips and tricks and techniques I've never heard before! Thanks for this Lisa!! And Troy!! Serioiusly the best makeup tutorual i have ever seen on youtube. And his brushes look so unique i need them All! 😘
wow what a stunning look! Loved that he left some freckles to be visible! Lisa, please never stop making videos on RUclips, your content is top quality and surpasses any of the standard content. It is such a privilege to be able to see expert makeup techniques and looks! x
I loved this! It was so nice to see a model who actually had some problem skin and wasn't just super perfect already. Obviously, I mean that in the best way possible- she is absolutely gorgeous with and without makeup. But it was like seeing the upper echelon of artists work on skin that is actually normal and more relatable! Beautiful work, beautiful model, amazing techniques.
My god the model is stunning! And Troy is incredible. It's so interesting to see the difference in techniques when you bring on other artists. Also, your comment about sponsorship is so refreshing and professional and certainly one of the reasons so many respect you, glad to have you uploading again!! 💖
Lmao 🤣👍👍 "contour is like a toupee you're not fooling anyone" goooood lord preach! Lol lot of these beauty "guru" instagram peeps need to chill on that ✌like its literally a brown streak across yall faces 🤣
I'm feeling speechless about that blush technique.. Sceptical at first but being left with an open mouth in the end! Thank you, Lisa & Troy, for sharing your skills and providing us with such interesting content. Love from Germany
I love how gentle and kind he is to the model. A lot of times with makeup tutorials using models the artist is too harsh and demanding. You can tell he is caring and genuine, and obviously a master of makeup. Well done!
Wow. Lisa, I learn something new from every video. Troy has so much wisdom, I’m definitely rewatching and taking mental notes. I love how he has so much precision and control in every move! Truly a professional.
I loved watching this! Not only because he’s a great artist and his look is flawless and very elegant but because his voice is so calming and soothing just like Lisa’s! ♥️💋
YES YES YES YES YES how many times can I say YES! This is makeup that is most beautiful. You Troy and so many in our industry just make me so proud to be a makeup artist. And you showing beautiful makeup on RUclips is a Godsend. THANK YOU LISA-THANK YOU TROY! Bravo!
This is one of my favorite tutorials ever featured on your channel. True artistry and quality. I love to watch all styles of makeup application but it’s so nice to see an artist using a light touch and layers to create a flawless look. None of that wiping out the entire face and rebuilding it! Just love it.
Oh my Jesus she looks stunning! I mean she was stunning to begin with, but that end result was flawless. Makeup artist did an amazing job, and his voice was so soothing. 👏🏽👏🏽✨✨
that didn’t even feel like a 30min vid, i was so engrossed in his explaining! his subtlety with his artistry is so mesmerising and dang that lip looks so good. oh! and troy’s comment about highlight and contour👌🏻👌🏻😂😂😂😂 also thank you for working on a model with acne/scarring! bless emily for showing us her bare face❤️
OH TROY! ❤️ I could listen to that voice all day. What beautiful, delicate and precise application. A total joy to watch🙏 Emily, you beauty! More Troy please Lisa🤞🏼
Troy!! Your products are so wonderful. The perfectly engineered Relevé curler, the Lipsliques, the oh-so-gentle blushes and eyeshadows, and the brushes! Oh, the brushes! I have them all, and adore them. Thank you for putting so much attention and passion and care into this, a highest of quality line. I've not tried the new eye glosses yet, but sweet Lulu has plans to show them to me. This screen-siren look is delicate and audacious. Thank you Lisa for showcasing Troy and his techniques. Kisses to you both!
The thing is most people on youtube that call themselves gurus and "teach" makeup have absolutely nothing to do with the makeup industry whatsoever in terms of professionality and real knowledge and experience of and in the business. They just happened to record themselves at home and suddenly one day they grew a fanbase and brands were dying to pay them to sell their products, but none of this things will never certify them as real make-up artists. They are just sellers. Top sellers for sure, but nothing else. You don't need to excuse yourself, my dear, or remind us that anything used here is not sponsored. You are THE ARTIST and I believe, moreover, I know that anything you use is chosen only because you trust the product. As simple as that. And if I ever buy something you happened to use sometime in one of your videos, it'll be because I saw it here, tried it myself and think "damn, that's good". You should be the one trusted and admired.
Wow. What a beautiful look on a lovely model. Troy's explanations were so thoughtful and detailed (and 100% wanted to high-five him for his contour comments...!). He has a soothing and calm demeanour that is a joy to watch! Thank you Lisa and Troy!
Beautifully done. I love the artistry of makeup artists. Please have more celebrity artists come on! It's a joy to watch them perform their magic. This is why we're here to watch - the artistry of makeup. Also, his brushes are so unique and tapered!
"The eyes are the window to the soul, and the lashes are the awnings to those windows." Friggin birlliant!! He is so methodical in his work, this was amazing to watch! ❤
Hi Lisa, if there is any chance you ever see this comment know that you are a beautiful artist and I love every one of your videos. My Mum found out she has to go in for surgery to remove a skin cancer from her nose and she's really upset about it because she's worried she'll look ugly. I think she's beautiful no matter what, but I want to make her feel better so I was hoping you might be able to do a video about skincare for scars? Or reccomend the best products available in australia to promote healing. Other comments are welcome people, I just want to make her feel good about herself 😊
Challenger1913 Spottyhanded Hello! I’m not Lisa unfortunately but I have a number of surgery sites, the most recent from my mastectomy for breast cancer. On each occasion, the doctors, nurses, beauticians, everyone basically has told me to use organic Rose hip oil to massage the scar and help regenerate the skin. It’s very gentle and nourishing, and can be used on the face without any problems. I also believe that La Roche Posay have some skin regenerating products if you can get hold of them in Australia? The products are named Cicaplast. And of course SPF at the highest possible factor for at least the first year, every single day! Good luck and much love to your mother xxx
Challenger 1913 Oh, best wishes to your mom! I don’t know about surgeries but I burnt the skin on the top of my nose off once and had to grow in new skin. My best tip to avoid scars is moisture and avoiding sun exposure. So wearing hats, sunscreen, and massaging Shea butter into the burn. Honestly any moisturizer should be fine as long as it is gentle and unscented so as to avoid irritating the skin. I even used Vaseline (not sure if she should so ask the doctor). Hope she get better!
I love Lisa's guest stars. They all clearly respect each other's talent so much, and it's great to see the different approaches and technique they have. Thank you Lisa for another brilliant video. Xxx
Love his voice. Meditations to his words would be bliss! This makeup is perfect. I love the blush and the concealer. A beautiful model both in and out of make up. This was such a treat to watch. So many tips. I love how positive and fun it was. His statements about makeup were wonderful. Very enjoyable. Thankyou all for being involved.
Lisa, thank you for bringing Troy on your channel. It's such s a treat. I confess, I was hoping to hear a story or two about Kevyn Aucoin (since Troy was his assistant).Yet again it goes to show how different Pro MUAs vs what we (mostly) see on youtube. Kind request: would you consider toning down the white background to a tad greyish shade? It's a bit harsh for sensitive eyes (and those like me who wear eyeglasses) to have such a bright white background. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Edit: Also, less white background would help to see the real shades of the products better, as the white background oftentimes changes the shades.
OMG, even her water line turned white from those drops, how is that possible ? This is one of those videos that I know I will be coming back to over and over again. Thank you, Lisa, for always bringing us the best content. This channel is a place where one can relax, enjoy but also learn many useful things. There aren't many channels like yours and every time you make a pause in uploading, I get a little scared that you are not coming back on YT, especially lately, with all that has been going on in the beauty community. It's so refreshing and somehow comforting to see that there are still genuine artists and genuine people, who can not be bought with money. I wish you all the best in everything you do and don't ever change.
I love how he contoured her and warmed her up. The resulting, natural skin-like flush is amazing. Wonder how that technique would work on dark skin tones... 🤔
Lisa Eldridge is such a refreshing presence on RUclips - she's real, she tells the truth and truly seems to love what she does. Thank you for always uploading such great, informative videos.
Thank you a thousand times! I‘m a normal woman with a normal job, don’t want to look like a caked clown faced jerk when wearing make-up. I can get sooo many good advices out of your videos! I can‘t stand these wannabe gurus with their ridiculous tutorials, so thank you again for that great channel!
this is the most professional and elegant makeup channel with best most talented makeup artists! form Lisa to her wonderful guests, its always top top class work
Thank you so very much for letting us watch Troy Surratt work. So many have said it all, a lot better than I can, but I still had to thank you Lisa for allowing us to watch a genius in action. Your channel is always so good and one of the few I find meaningful to watch.
Wow, how exciting to see Troy Suratt in action...I’ve never seen him doing make up, what an absolute thrill. And the model looked beautiful, always love your videos ,
I adore your makeup tutorials and it's wonderful when you invite artists over, because you all have so much knowledge to share and it's always inspiring to watch!
Love that the model has some texture to her skin - it gives the makeup artist the opportunity to give tips & advice on covering blemishes. And love that she asked questions rather than sitting there like a mannequin! I find it fascinating seeing how different artists do makeup so tthank you for this video 💗
it's incredibly beautiful, with a lot of insights, amazed to see that one can still learns something new about makeup, thank you Lisa! I wish i could have that look on my face
This look is next level, and his attention to detail and strict focus to certain aspects of the look, without going overboard, is stunning. A true artist.
Wow! A masterclass!!! Thank you Lisa and Troy! I learned so much and the final result is breathtaking. I also loved Emily. She is so beautiful and engaging. I like when the model interacts. It was obvious she was also interested in this class. :)
The difference between real makeup artists and internet celebrities who do makeup is shocking. Everything from their makeup style and technique, to how they speak and present themselves. Such masterful artistry, class, professionalism, and a lack of drama from real makeup artists. What a relief.
human or machine? I could not agree more.
Yes! Yes! Yes! 😀
So true. Fresh air. Fresh and classy air.
Makeup artists care more about the model. Internet "gurus" care about themselves.
Very true.

Surratt, Troy(2018)
Teciane Rodrigues - Loved this : )
Preach!!
I loved it.
Kind of a subtle shade to all the ones wearing stripes of highlighter thinking it's cool lol
I don't know what I love more: Lisa's talent, or Lisa's integrity.
Both, both is good
I'm sure her talent is a gift from universe for her integrity ;)
Why it’s some whitey again? Why does she never feature black queens??
Her comment about was just like YES, something so different to listen here on RUclips. We see sponsorships EVERYWHERE with all the gurus that are supposed to give unbiased reviews lol
Keren Coen, she has featured plenty of black models, if you would give cursory glance at her video history, especially considering the fact that she is in London, not America where there is more black people. For those like me who loved Kevyn the person, the heart now weeps as if made of watercolor. Earth has lost yet another light.

@@Sigurjon543 Every time I hear or read "Kevyn Aucoin" I think about Taxi Ride by Tori Amos - gorgeous song dedicated to him.

Love that the model was asking questions!
Me too! She made a lot of questions that I have
Jessica L me too
She encourages models to interact and that is just beautiful.
Me too! I just commented this, it makes the tutorial feel more interactive
She was so lovely and polite. They always have such lovely models on the channel.
I swear to God I thought that blush is gonna be a disaster but it ended up being the most beautiful blush application ever.
It went from the strongest blush to the most natural “from within” looking blush I have ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous
what an incredible privilege to sit in my house and watch a masterclass for free. Thank you so much for this !!!!!!! His comment on the contouring being like a bad toupee made my day xD

Right???? AMAZING!!!!
I love that you use models with acne sometimes. It's really hard as someone with acne to feel okay with our skin, but your videos make me feel like I could treat my skin softly and with care, and enjoy makeup just as much!
I totally agree and it’s especially cool when we get to see how different artists address acne!
She didn't have acne?
she did in her chin area, or at least scarring due to acne
@@georginaward2418 I saw acne around her chin and jaw line. That's where I usually break out, too.
She does have a little bit of texture around her chin and jawline. The brightness of the video diminishes it though.
Has Troy ever thought about a career in voiceovers? His voice is so soothing to listen to haha 😊
The final look is beautiful! X
Yesss his voice is so soothing! I had to start the video again cause I fell asleep halfway in !! (not because it was boring, au contraire!)
he should do asmr :)
Thank you! His voice is like butter. I literally dozed off listening to him.
The placement and blending of that blusher is extraordinary

Yess! When he applied that blusher, I wasn't feeling it, but once he blended it out... so natural and BEAUTIFUL
I am so glad it wasn't just me who thought that! And it's so nice to have a model without perfect skin ^.^
I think he purposely went heavy because he hadn't applied powder yet and that would tone it down
I agree! I was a bit sceptical about the lipstick being rouge, but when he was finished, it looked absolutely stunning!
I love that he worked under Kevin Aucoin, the master of contour, the man who brought drag makeup to the masses - and still holds to Kevin's original intention to keep contour and highlight subtle. This is one of my favorite tutorials ever featured on your channel. True artistry and quality. I love to watch all styles of makeup application but it’s so nice to see an artist using a light touch and layers to create a flawless look. None of that wiping out the entire face and rebuilding it! Just love it.
He speaks so calm that his voice sounds so soothing like a lullaby.
Oh my Jesus she looks stunning! I mean she was stunning to begin with, but that end result was flawless. Makeup artist did an amazing job, and his voice was so soothing. 👏🏽👏🏽✨✨
that didn’t even feel like a 30min vid, i was so engrossed in his explaining! his subtlety with his artistry is so mesmerising and dang that lip looks so good. oh! and troy’s comment about highlight and contour👌🏻👌🏻😂😂😂😂
also thank you for working on a model with acne/scarring! bless emily for showing us her bare face❤️
That was a masterclass of true make-up artistry. The technique and finesse, was otherworldly
Lisa wins the internet with one word -- Integrity (mic drop)
Beautiful true makeup artistry for your return from a much deserve holiday!
OH TROY! ❤️ I could listen to that voice all day. What beautiful, delicate and precise application. A total joy to watch🙏
Emily, you beauty!
Kisses to you both!
i love how calm and gentle the whole tone and feeling of this video is. a pleasure to watch
Yes! Thank you!!!
Wow. What a beautiful look on a lovely model. Troy's explanations were so thoughtful and detailed (and 100% wanted to high-five him for his contour comments...!). He has a soothing and calm demeanour that is a joy to watch! Thank you Lisa and Troy!
This may have been one of the best tutorials - I have such a better understanding of blush, concealer and contour application.
I could listen to Troy talk for ages. Lovely, lovely person. Fantastic!!!
I love how happy the model is afterwards. Makeup should make you happy, it's so easy to forget that when we mostly try to be perfect.
Aysha F I think highlighter looks amazing on dark skin. So radiant and beautiful.
Lisa Eldridge is such a refreshing presence on RUclips - she's real, she tells the truth and truly seems to love what she does. Thank you for always uploading such great, informative videos.
What a treat!!!
My makeup goddess with my newfound makeup hero.
So much integrity in this video.
The way he did the blush. So beautiful and delicate. I love these guest makeup artist tutorials.
The way Lisa Eldridge speaks about integrity is life goals. Thank you.
this is the most professional and elegant makeup channel with best most talented makeup artists! form Lisa to her wonderful guests, its always top top class work
Thank you so very much for letting us watch Troy Surratt work.
And the model looked beautiful, always love your videos

Yaaay Welcome back Lisa we all miss your makeup tutorial videos 😄
Love that the model has some texture to her skin - it gives the makeup artist the opportunity to give tips & advice on covering blemishes. And love that she asked questions rather than sitting there like a mannequin! I find it fascinating seeing how different artists do makeup so tthank you for this video 💗
Stunning model. Stunning makeup. Thank you both!

This look is next level, and his attention to detail and strict focus to certain aspects of the look, without going overboard, is stunning. A true artist.
