Natural makeup will always be in fashion, but how do you apply it in a modern, fresh way? Queen of all makeup artists Mary Greenwell has the answer with her natural makeup masterclass which will brighten skin, help you look refreshed and keep you looking up-to-date all day long.

Mary explains how the reason that natural makeup is so ‘of the moment’ is because makeup textures have become so real that they really do mimic amazing skin.
First, Mary states how with natural makeup it's incredibly important to have the best looking skin you can. She starts by prepping the skin using La Solution 10 de Chanel Sensitive Skin Cream which she massages well into the skin, giving the skin a mega glow. She then applies Hydra Beauty Nutrition Nourishing Lip Care on the lips which keeps lips plump and tackles any dryness.
The next step is to apply Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation SPF 25 which Mary applies using the sponge (which she really likes using despite normally being a ‘fingers application’ person!).
She uses more foundation than you may normally use but makes sure she blends it well. Next Mary grabs Chanel’s Palette Essentielle Conceal-Highlight-Color in Beige Clair which is a clever palette containing three different products - a blusher, a concealer and a highlighter - all aimed at enhancing and brightening your skin (there are three colour-ways to choose from). Mary applies the concealer from the palette under the eyes and uses a brush to conceal imperfections. She then brushes the brows into shape so she can really understand the shape of the face before she starts applying colour.
Moving onto the eyes, Mary takes the Retractable Dual-Tip Eyeshadow brush to apply Chanel’s Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette which will enhance any eye and skin colour. She starts by using the fluffy end of the brush to apply the highlighting shade over the brown bone. Mary then uses the shimmery shade over the lid and in the socket line. Then, taking the smaller brush end she uses the mushroom beige along the top of the lash line to slightly bring out the eyes.
Next up, Mary focuses on the brows, and using La Palette Sourcils de Chanel with the Retractable Dual-Tip brush she fills in the eyebrows, very slightly thickening their shape. She then uses le Gel Sourcils by Chanel in Transparent which is a gel that will set the brows in place and really define their shape without being noticeable.
Going back to the Palette Essentielle, Mary then uses the cream blush to very gently apply a tiny bit of colour to the apples of Hannah’s cheeks - she says this adds just a hint of warmth. Mary then uses the luminizing or highlighter shade on the very tops of the cheekbones to accentuate them slightly.
Mary then goes back to the eye palette and uses the warm taupe shade under the eyes which she says is very child-like and youthful.
Moving onto the lips, Mary then uses Chanel’s le Crayon Levres Precision Lip Definer in Beige Innocent which she describes as the ‘Perfect Lip colour’. She uses it around but also within the lips. Mary then asks model Hannah to rub her lips together which Mary always says is the best way of enhancing the shape of your mouth. She then takes Chanel’s Le Crayon de Couleur Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayon in Nude to apply a bit of very natural colour.
Finally Mary uses a very sheer loose powder - Chanel’s Poudre Universelle - and using the Pinceau Fond de Teint Foundation Brush No.6 she knocks back the shine around the nose, on the top of the lip, under the eyes and on the forehead. Mary finishes by saying that it’s a very ‘complete’ look despite there being no mascara - it is the perfect antidote to the very ‘made up’ looks that have been all the rage over the last few years.

I love that you didn't use mascara, Mary. I've always thought it was an essential product but you've successfully made a look that makes mascara truly optional.
OK, Y'all clearly are misunderstanding a couple of things.
1) If you're looking for a specific makeup tutorial to address skin concerns, just fucking look it up. It's called research, and I can promise you it's not that difficult to do. As they say, Google is your friend.
2) Models are used because they're meant to be blank canvases for the artist to create upon. Would you start painting on a canvas that wasn't properly prepared and cultivated? No.
3) She's Mary Freakin' Greenwell, most of her career was spent applying makeup to people whose job it is to take excellent care of their skin. This is what she specializes in.
4) There is nothing about this look that isn't achievable on the everyday person. It's foundation, a light eyeshadow, and a light lip. It's nothing revolutionary.
5) Even if she used a model with busted skin, you would still not look the end result because guess what? A) Chances are you are not a professional artist and don't have the same experiences as her and B) You're still you and you can only look like you. Stop projecting your insecurities about your appearance onto the artist and start learning about your own damn skin.

DarkAndDandy I was thinking the same as the original commentator. Then saw your comment and looked for the artists you mentioned,though they specialize in women of color it’s not this classic minimalist style. At least for Crimson ,I cannot find the others channel. But I’m glad for the options I haven’t heard of either of them before and will keep an eye out for them.

Mary thank you for saying that about mascara, I feel absolutely the same. I like the falsies (false lash) movement but sometimes it detracts from the eye and the look it can over power the eye. I will often go mascara free

Please do more tutorials by Mary Greenwell. There are many (too many) makeup gurus but, very few artists. Her technique is interesting and the viewer learns from what she says and what she does.

I do not like mascara because it falls under my eyes & if I forget to clean the makeup I wake up with black circles under my eyes...I prefer some false eyelashes instead..
I love long lashes, so for natural makeup days, I use a clear mascara or a brown mascara with a light coat, then brush out any clumps for the most natural looking lashes (people can't tell I have mascara on, they just think I have long lashes lol)

I have that Chanel eye palette it is absolutely stunning . The black smoke shade which Mary didn't use is unreal. I actually just use a smudger brush and sweep it on the lash line . A beautiful smokey look in seconds !!. The pinkish colour in it is gorgeous . Looks like you spent all morning doing your eyes :)) . Mary is like Merlin the magician she is amazing :). Likes to really get that moisturiser rubbed in tho lol
