Baking Steel: amzn.to/2MKezbL
In this video I'll walk you through from start to finish, the very best way to make pizza at home -- the dough, the sauce -- and how to best utilize your home oven to get the crispy, airy, light crust that you want when you're making pizza at home.
S/O to Alex French Guy Cooking and Bon Appétit for their pizza inspiration.
Looks amazing! I always cook mine on 550 convection roast so the fan runs and circulates the air. I also put my steel on the lowest rack because most of your heat comes from the bottom but since you have an LG probake, your heat comes from the back so it doesn’t matter what rack you use in your oven.
Great video. I have the baking steel & agree, it’s a must have. Their instructions say it’s very important to preheat the steel for at least 30 minutes…
Great recipe
I think it's best to have the steel on the lowest rung. The heat comes from the bottom; the broiler is at the top.
It goes on the top so you can switch over to the broiler setting. Otherwise you’re too far from the heating unit for no good reason. Also, preheat for at least an hour.
Amazing!! Such a helpful video! How do you store your baking steel?
With my other pans! It really doesn’t need any special treatment, which is great.
That’s great!! Thanks so much!
Hello....can i know what kind of steel is used in pizza steel...is it any kind of special material or a normal steel plate would work...pls share some info
www.bakingsteel.com/ that's what I use!
I have a question.... Is it okay if i take cast iron plate 5mm thick and put it in the oven... Will the plate get damaged or will it change its shape... Will the taste of pizza will change.... I have a pizza oven with 3 coils.... Pls share your experience
I haven't had much experience with making pizza with cast iron, but looking at products like this one: www.amazon.com/Lodge-Baking-Pre-Seasoned-Round-Handles/dp/B0000E2V3X#customerReviews --people clearly have had good results!
What is the best kind of pizza peel to get?
Thanks for the comment! I've had better luck with wooden/MDF peels than metal ones, in terms of the pizza not sticking to the peel. The one I have is older, but this looks like a good option from Amazon: amzn.to/2zA6ZrQ
Have you tried broiling instead of baking?
