Greyhound can't carry as much and it is aging and not safer than the Osprey. There have been no crashes of the CMV-22 to date.

There have been no fatal accidents of Air Force or Navy Ospreys.
The Greyhound had more range and more payload… the CV 22 isn’t efficient for this mission and cost of operation is 4 times plus that of the Greyhound

I was going to say something similar. There are jet engines in the Navy's active inventory that are too long for the MV-22, but fit in a C-2.
