You got this papi
Thank you for the honesty in this video! We ALL have made financial mistakes at one point. But the fact you reflected on this shows that you learned and thought about what you would of done differently. Congratulations on your car!
I got mine at 32,500 used in Minneapolis with 26,000 miles. I consider that a steal, congrats on the R. Welcome to the fam.
Great deal man. Was that with tax
Sometimes if you get something you always wanted, your happiness is priceless. Great informative vid bro🤙💯💢🅰️➕🔥‼️
Exactly... i can't stand listening to these passive braggarts that don't have a pot to piss in about how they won't pay over MSRP. You want it bad enough ... it doesn't matter... people blow 5 or 10k easily on bullshit each year that doesn't benefit them whatsoever... this car brings you happiness... it's 100% worth it! :D
You said Si
The price of this car is crazy nowadays. I got my 2019 CTR 2 years ago with 1300 miles on it for 38k from a private seller. The previous owner spent 53k to get it from the dealership. Anyway, welcome to the CTR family bro!
im happy to be here
Whats good Papi
How much is insurance? No one seems to add that to the monthly payment, is that a weird question? Lol I’m just curious bc I’m looking into getting one but getting quotes from insurance company’s is so off every time
Bro… i can relate. Ive had two of them… an 18 and now a 21 and have gotten a little burned each time in the buying process. Luckily they hold value like crazy. I don’t know your needs, but if I were you, I’d throw a down payment on an incoming gr86 (30k msrp) and jump ship on the type r while the market is crazy hot. I think your RUclips content wise wouldn’t suffer and numbers would be just as good? Save a bunch of money. Slide in later if/when things cool if you just have to have it. Just an opinion and one I consider myself.
that initially was the play to leave the R and get a GR86. But tbh, im going to let the GR86 get the problems out the way and get it the second year
thank you for your honesty and sharing. Congrats on the Type-R!
thank you!!
Dude refinance it and you’re good!
Bro got GOT
Love the honesty bro. Subscribed!
I’m excited mine is coming in from Baltimore!!! I got a 2018 like you some idiot rear ended and flipped me on a rainy day on the freeway in ny sport touring so I decided just to get a type r
60k. Wtf
Hind sight is always 2020, I can so relate to this LOL, but hey we are driving one of our dream cars! Many wouldn’t be so transparent with a deal like this.
Congratulations brother on the Type R. Don’t feel bad because you made the right move. You won’t be regretting anything down the road when everything is said and done. If it makes you feel better I paid 10k over MSRP just to finance this beast with the same car payment that you have. Enjoy the car it’s so much fun every time behind the wheel. 😎
Damn for a used car you got scammed, you must have low credit. I got mine 2019 CTR back on October , 5 Miles Brand New $35k with 2.39% APR, with credit score 670 at the time , Now I'm at 760. $400 monthly. You just needed to play hardball, I walked in 4 different dealers , 2 called back with great price and I bought the main show car
Where did you buy it ?
@@DaggerProd Honda Van Nuys ca dealer
With no add-ons or anything ? 35k before just taxes ?
@@recklessjunkie 2 year free oil change, 1 year free towing , 1 year wheel and tire warranty.
Got my 2018 for 46k after taxes and a 2.7%apr monthly payments are 390 after a 20k down payment
It was an impulse move to im an idiot I wish I waited a bit cus a newer 2021 popped up with 3k new miles for 46k without tax it was sonic grey but eh 2018 type r fuck it
I may be wrong but if u refinance it, yes itll be cheaper monthly coz interest will go down but from what ive heard with some of my buddies that did that says its not worth it because longer-term. But thats from what ive heard haha but anyways love the type r man 🤙🤙
it will be a little bit longer tbh, but i rather pay less interest and give most of the money to the car
@@DaggerProd oh i just realize, less car payment = more money for CAR PARTS! Hahaha DO IT! 🙌
There are no more @ MSRP ... the plant closed down as of July 2021... no more 10th Gen beautiful aggressive looking R's :( 11th Gen is of no interest to me... way too conservative.. looks like an Audi Civic. R stands for racing not retired. Honda keeps changing the release date on the 2022 or is it 2023 now...? LOL I'm glad you got a car you really wanted... you never know what could happen in the future and now you're enjoying it :) This car is an extraordinary car and worth every penny. It has better stats than cars that cost twice as much!
Wow you see new ones for 60k that’s just stupid.
yeah… California for ya.. lol
Ngl hearing what you paid for your type r makes me feel better. I definitely overpaid for my 2020 si 🙃, California sucks lmao.
Cmon papi
The fact that my boss just offered me a rallyeye red for 34k makes me want to buy it tomorrow cause I haven’t seen one under MSRP for over a year
Jump on it
Your getting equity basically in the car ID buy it
Damn… was gonna get a type r but I just got a si instead cuz of my age and I invested that extra money
VERY smart man lol
@@DaggerProd yeah
This was a great video. I'm also in SoCal and I just got my brand new Type R two weeks ago (2021 Sonic Gray Pearl). Took me literally 3 weeks of calling dealerships, but I got them to sell it to me a little above MSRP, and I got them to throw in some packages/add-ons. Traded in my White 2015 SI Sedan + cash down payment. I ended up getting 3% APR (also first car buying by myself with no-cosigner). Either way man, happy for you and your Type R. Definitely a dream car, can't wait to see what else you do with it!
No one cares that you got a better deal lmao
SONIC GRAY PEARL!? sheeesh! lucky man lol
You near LA area? Link 🆙?
@@christianservin7635 Nah, I'm in San Diego. I'll be up in Irvine in a couple weeks to finish getting some stuff done on the car tho.
I paid 3k over one week of taking. It’s worth every Penney of that 3k. I got a 2021 boost blue pearl
You’ve got some serious balls posting this fam
Got my 21 out the door with taxes for 50
My guy never add up your interest all togethr lol
You can pay it off sooner, you still saved roughly 6-15 thousand if you went to go buy a new one fam, you’re good!! Enjoy your dream car brother !!! 💯🙌🏼
No one also cares you got a better deal lmao
@@geerraarrdd I overpaid 😂
@@christianservin7635 Compared to me, you overpaid. Compared to Brandon, you got a better deal lol.
@@geerraarrdd 😏👀🥲
Credit score?
60k damn 😳😳😳
Great video
Mantap
Damn you got hustled my guy. I’m getting $24k offers from dealerships to trade in my SI with 50,000 miles.
DAMN! mine was heavily modified too tho lol
Did both of you guys have the si paid off already?
ripped off lmao
Dam dude you overpaid…
I want to trade my 2018 si for a type r..
Just can’t pull the trigger with this crazy prices right now…
Only have 6k left to pay off my car.
🤣🤣🤣 38k for a Type R with 30k miles is ridiculous. I bought my 19 brand new for 35k
🧢🧢🧢🧢
Yeh 35k msrp plus plus 😂😂
first
I think it's a financial mistake tbh. You're probably paying over $800 a month for it. Be honest, are you still living with your parents? I think you have your priorities mixed up if you are.
i’m not living with my parents .. that’s why i bought the car ….
@@DaggerProd Then congrats on the car. As long as its not a financial burden, go for it.
Lol he got pounded without lube
@@93notofthisworld imo he definitely did. No matter what people say I will not overpay for something even if I can afford it because in the long run I'm only hurting myself. I understand that he REALLY wanted the Type R but with that high of an APR I would have walked away for a car that's around 40k. Build yourself up first and when you're smarter financially you make better decisions because in the end your limiting your financial options of what you could've used the money for elsewhere, like putting it in an investment account that will grow 10% or more a year. Then in 5 years that interest you got from saving the money rather than paying for it out of pocket would have mostly paid for itself. For a car I would say you should only use about 10% of your monthly net not gross. I would say 15% is pushing it but nothing above that. So if he's paying around lets say 800 a month then his monthly net income should be 8000. Gross pay or salary to make this car feasible should be around 150k. If the car is worth half your yearly salary then I think you're making poor financial decisions and setting yourself back a few years but you live and learn. I'm not a financial advisor but you're not saving for your future like you should and living to pay for a car...
you got ripped off
Go to a credit union bro, they have better rates.
trying as we speak
To each there own & I do respect the honesty & transparency in this vid as there are probably far far many more who paid even more to own an R. I refinance with a local union bank to get a much better rate btw, good luck.
ty ty. hopefully soon
Damn that’s not smart sounds like something I’ve done before at a Verizon store
awesome video thanks bro!😎
Dude wtf I bought mine brand stankin new fresh as fuck smells like it just came out the factory I traded my challenger for 14k i put a down payment of 2k my apr is 9.44 it’s about 9k on interest if you add all of this up I’m paying 54k or 55k for my brand new 2021 type r so you my brother got screwed
They made money on your challenger lol
Dude, I know how you feel, I was walking out a little funny myself, after the deal, if you know what I mean;-)!
No Way It's Dagger
Sign me up haha! Congrats
My used 2020 Type R had similar issues on the front sideskirt 🥺
You got scammed lol
This is CA
@@DaggerProd still lol. $60k I’d drive a pos before I spent that
I mean a 9% rate for and i assume you are young, low credit history and as you say first time car buyer. So you were gonna get a poor rate. If you can make the payments do it. I strongly recommend you build ur credit get a simple credit card pay balances in full (can be small amounts) get that credit established and in good faith. And then when you have your credit score at a better place refinance the horrible rate you got from the dealer. You can do it man. Congratulations on the car though! We've all been there! Good job!
thanks for the tip !
You got shafted…..California sucks to buy a car, let alone the registration and taxes. You should’ve went out of state, literally a state that usually don’t drive Honda’s that won’t rip you off and with lower sales tax. Yeah best to refinance with a credit union. I was able to finance for 3% only because being a veteran helps
yeah , thats the next move is to refinance the car. cause tbh with you im paying too much for this car with interest
@@DaggerProd refinance it through your bank. They will probably give you the best rate
Just picked up a boost blue CTR. Sold my fbo big turbo si to my brother. No regrets!
No regrets here either brother lol love my type r
Subscribed after I heard the apr. hope it helps build your following. It’ll pay for itself soon. Good luck
appreciate you brother .
I got my 2020 brand new cw for 41 out the door 😭👍🏼0 miles
LUCKY lol
It’s ridiculous rite now tho . They offered me 44k with 13k mikes
Trade in
Got my 2018 brand new, 3 years ago. Same exact price as you. Think its worth it to trade in for the 2023 Type R? I've got so much equity in mine now lol.
Found a 2019 type R for 36k. You think it’s good of a price?
Should’ve looked out of state. Just closed on my 2019 for 43k otd with 3k miles. Granted you are from Cali so taxes blows. But atleast your happy!
Btw I would definitely check with a credit union. Not a first time buyer but I got 2.1% apr, while dealership was quoting me 4.6-5% for 4 years.
