FK8 looks 10 times better than the FL5...the fl5 is just a sedan with an aftermarket looking wing.

Same thing I said. Fk8 looks like a supercar, it really is one. The 11thgen civics and type r and weaker especially trying to add many mods making more horsepower
Fk8 looks like a pepboys special for ricer white boys and mexicans so I can see why you'd like it
It was marketed for a wider audience, does make sense considering the price tags as the people that can afford it are not going to be kids. The fl5 is kinda similar to the fd2 which basically looked like the base civic with a wing so on that point I agree. Type r’s of the past always stood out to the cars around them from their own generation. The fk8 definitely stood out the most. But the feedback from NA and eu was that it looked too sporty
I drive an fk8 and the fl5 is growing on me. Especially seeing it in person. It does look mature as in the classic sedan look. And the big I do agree just looks like an aftermarket. Wish they incorporated the design better. But it looks mean in person

Do you think they did it incase you knock it. They have made it harder to adjust. Can't think of any other reason.

The sounds system is pretty good except the subwoofer in the trunk lol that thing don’t hit it at all I couldn’t even tell a difference when I took it out lol. I fixed it though now I got 2 alpine type s 12”s with thier own alpine amps hits hard af lol.

So...the cruise control. I'm now seeing this vid and yesterday I tried it for the first time. It is so weird how you have to hold it cause it caught ne off gaurd lol
I hate it, but I've gotten use to it.
Not sure how it works on the 10.5 gen but on my 2017 you just hold in the cruise control. It's like the older analog CC (like my old 2006 accord) which you hold it in until you're going the appropriate speed you want.
The cool thing about this CC though is that it lets you change gears while not cancelling the CC. So you can hit resume and go down and up gears and it will keep the CC in unless you hold the clutch in for like 5+ seconds. Which is nice.
I do enjoy being able to change gears and still have CC on lol
The cruise control not being the best is because of manual btw
Newer models don’t have the issues. Seems to be only the 17/18s.
@@WeekenderGarage i have a 21 and the cruise is a bit wonky but tbh this car never goes in cruise ever lol i did it once a few months ago just to try it but other that one time, this car never seen comfort mode or cruise control haha its always in R, such a blast to drive - if i put it in cruise id probably fall asleep
@@quicktoreason2722 this is my daily. Lots of interstate/highway driving and comfort mode with the kid in the back. Different strokes for different folks. :D
haha by no means am itrying to say youre doing it wrong, just pointing out since the suspensions are stiff even in comfort mode
if you want really good comfort mode then you can alwasy swap out your adaptive damping module for the integra type S module - the fk8, Fl5 and ITS share the same module so @@WeekenderGarage
I have a 2021 rally red FK8 and also went with 35 ratio tires to save my rims with zero problems.
I'm looking to buy one over in the UK. No many around. I've be worried about the wheels.
So 35s help I'm guessing. What's recommended tire wise. It rains alot here 🤣
@@russc5269I live in the U.K. and I went wider as this increases the profile so I’m running 255 instead of 245 but stuck with 30s. Never buckled a wheel or wrecking a tyre. I run in comfort when driving daily and this is in my mind has saved both the wheels and tyres.
stumbled upon your video and I must say thanks for the review! Also those seats yikes! They definitely should've gone with red stitching and black seats. I just hope I can get my hands on an fk8 one day

Awesome video!! I bought a 2019 FK8 in spring of 2019! I really like it to this day! Prior to my fk8 I have owned 4 different Civic Si’s! In 2009 I bought my first Si! I loved it! Then over the next few years years I bought a 2012 Si, 14’ Si and then a 17’ Si all sedans! My fk8 has 15,000 miles on it and I have kept it stock! have really enjoyed it! I am trying to get an fl5 from the dealership that sold me all my Honda’s in the past! I really enjoyed your video! I am a new subscriber! Your car looks amazing! Man I miss my '12 SI sedan. That's what I traded in for the Type R. Also, I want an FL5 so bad, but I don't think the wife is gonna let that one fly lol!

@@WeekenderGarageI saw on videos racing that the fl5 is slower than fk8. Also the fk8 looks very aggressive like a super car like a Lamborghinis and porsches
I have the 2018 Type R sk not sure what kts like with the 2020-up
Newer ones it works the way it should. One click is one MPH.
Sorry my fellow human being but I got my fk8 earlier this year and I’m at the 2 minute mark… 😂 wait I have tried to build this car myself all thru my 20s and it’s expensive to experiment 😢

Just wanted to say about the cruise control get that checked out I drive a 5 speed honda with and it has cruise control worlds exactly like your wife’s EX so maybe take it to the dealer or an expert never had this issue
It's a known issue with the Type R prior to ACC models. Honda never released a software fix for it to my knowledge.

I like the Honda Type R. My issue with the car is the back seats, they should had made a three back seats and also red.
I personally wish they would of done black with the read stitching front seats lol. It's such a pain trying not to get them dirty.
40 grand and couldnt even come with spare tire. My 18 CHR has more features then my FK8.
There are actually a decent amount of cars nowadays that don’t come with spare tires. I do wish we were offered more option for the R. My wife’s touring 10th gen has all the fancy stuff that COULD of easily been offered for the R as well. Just another case of the US getting shafted with imported cars.

Fl5 looks way cleaner but the fk8 looks fun.
@LynnDisclose lap records don't lie. Fl5 is way faster than the fk8. Type r isn't meant for drag either so don't try to pull that lame excuse.

That cruise control behavior makes no sense. It doesn't work like that on my '15 Si, you click it once and the speed goes up 1 mph. Also, agreed about the gas tanks- I feel that about my regular Civic, wish I could get more than 11 gallons into it and spread out my fillups
Yeah, the cruise control thing is so wild, but very much so a thing for the FK8. There is a handful of post about it on the forums.

It's specific to pre-face lift without the ACC.
@@WeekenderGarage here in the UK the pre facelift 2017 and onward FK8s came with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision mitigation and blind spot monitoring with all the Honda sensing tech. No idea what the US market didn't get those! We didn't get however the subwoofer in the back😂

Das Review Match System schaltet sich nur im hohen Drehzahlbereich ein . Und da sollte es auch funktionieren . In ihrem Handbuch steht sehr genau , wann das System nicht arbeitet , obwohl sie es eingeschaltet haben .
