I tried this repair. The first 50% of the video was spot on. Unfortunately, I also couldn't get the venturi tubes loose, so figured I would just do what Scott did. Easier said than done. There's 2" of thick, unforgiving insulation between the top and bottom holes, with next to no clearance in the top hole, and the bulb is quite rigid. I have absolutely no idea how he pushed that bulb into the oven cavity (the video doesn't even show, that part was skipped), but it was essentially impossible on my oven.
So, I would say if you're not comfortable removing the venturi tubes on your oven, don't try the alternate approach. Hire a professional.

Scott, great video! So if the oven temp isn't bang on, the only way to fix it is to replace the whole thermostat? I know some ovens have adjustment screws to calibrate. Is there no calibration for that model?

Did you ever get a reply? I don't see a public one but I"m on the hunt for a thermostat part number 00486943 and sensor bulb 14 39 047. At least that's what I think I need. Did you have any luck finding?

I have the 48" oven and the larger oven is off about 125 degrees from what it reads and heats! Is the Thermostat the problem and or the flat ignitor the issue? Or is it combination of both? I can't even get the temperature up to 300 degrees! Help with some advice!

The oven uses the top & bottom element for rapid heating. Also, the electric oven uses 240VAC (two house breakers provide for L1= 120VAC & L2=120VAC). If one of the elements or connections is faulty you will not have full power. Some ovens use relays that have contacts that fail.

What Model No. was this oven? I have a Model No. ESC 30 BG. I think the two parts I need are 00486943 and I think the sensor bulb is 14 39 047. Are those the pieces you installed in this video?
