He so loving you preening him. My first bird was CH conure, looked a lot like this one only he had more red feathers on his head and shoulders. He lived e we it’s me 34 years. 💔🦜
New feathers grow in as a quill; the feather part is tightly wrapped in a sheath of keratin (like a Christmas tree bound up). When the feather is ready, the sheath gets crumbly and can be removed. Birds can't preen their own heads, so other birds usually help them. It doesn't hurt. It's kind of like brushing your hair. But pin feathers can be itchy.
Looks like its in pure bliss when you're doing the head pinnies. Its so satisfying to watch too!!❤ 🦜
Thank you! 🥰
Regen is so adorable. Thanks for sharing this moment with us, sweet baby!

He did a little tiny wiggle at the start. 😁
That's one happy dinosaur.
Such an adorable cutie pie
Need a longer video:)
Doesn't that hurt the bird when you do that? Or does he feel better sans pin feathers? What is a pin feather, anyway?
Birds do this for each other in the wild. Also, the bird would definitely let you know if it hurt.

Thank you for letting us know. Not everyone has experience with birds.
Great work, but why do it on a Keyboard?
Regen wouldn't leave the keyboard. 😅
My parrot loved when i removed his head pin feathers but wouldn't let me touch his wing's pin feathers. 😅
Our other parrot won't let us touch anything besides his head feathers, too. 😊
@@FosterBirdies he let me touch his wings, but he used to get really cranky when he had wing pin feathers.
What a cutie❤🎉😊
Thank you! 🥰
Isn't it bad to pet/preen a bird's body? I thought the head was the only safe area otherwise they think you're trying to flirt.
Yes, but we usually don't touch her elsewhere, but she has arthritis so it's hard for her to reach certain areas.
It depends. I pet my Amazon all over and I assure you that he doesn’t think I’m flirting with him
@FosterBirdies I can tell she absolutely trusts you and your touch is very gentle ❤🦜
cute birb
Thanks 😊
How old is Regen? Typically from what age do you need to preen your bird?
Regen is 20. Some birds don't want you to preen them, but once their pin feathers appear on their head, it's nice to remove it for them.
It seems they like the keyboard
They like the heat coming from the keyboard
Dale frutas y verduras semillas no comida ni cafe😮😮😮😮
Is this Cutie a Girl or a Boy? 🤗
