I never would have thought of coating eyes with black and another color in addition to white! Great tutorial! I'm definitely going to watch this again when I get around to painting my puppet's eyes!
Hey Adam, I have my final art exam soon and am making a puppet, so far i have only been able to make a round head and was wondering if you could make a video on making a snout or 3D features for your puppet. this would be really helpful :)
I made a bird puppet by taking a round head and using strips of foam to get the approximate beak shape. once that was completed i covered it in fleece. I joined the inside mouth to the inside of the beak separately. used a lot of glue. 👍
Hey Adam, I need help. I am making a cat puppet and for the clay model i don't know how to draw the darts because the muzzle. Can you make a video explaining how to do that?
Hi Adam es un gusto saludarte, he realizado algunos titeres, me falta afinar algunos detalles. Gracias por compartir tu talento. Quiero consultar como puedo hacer un títere con la nariz parecida a la de Pinocho. Muchas gracias. Dios te bendiga. Saludos.
I’m working on a puppet that needs two pairs of blinking eyes and was wondering if you have any advice on how to go about it. I’m not that great with tech stuff like servos so... I’m a bit stuck 😅
Thanks for the video! I'm stumped on the eyes. I used the casting resin and go t air bubbles and some parts of my eyes came out clear. So I painted them with white acrylic paint. It sucks. I'll spray paint them next time. However, any tips for the casting?
@@PuppetNerd I think the casting didn't turn out because I did it outside. Tried a second time inside and I got much better results. I'm going out tomorrow to look for a silcone mold. The other problem I'm having is the resin is sticking to my molds. I'll keep u posted. I've completed the monster body and gave him a haircut, gave him a nose. He's really cute! Thanks for the videos. I'm loving the pro results I'm getting. Thanks for your hard work.
Hey Adam,, have you ever used the texture spray paint like the stuff Krylon comes out with that kind of gives the same effect you created in this video?
Thanks Adam for the vid. While watching I got an Idea: I am an airbrusher, and perhaps an idea for all, how cheap to airbrush: Buy an cheap airbrush and use a tire from a bike or a car filled with air instead of an kompressor. So you can thin down the colour for a good Control of how dark or light the result will be.And you can blend it...
Hey adam! Weird question for you-i have a few puppets that have cardboard in between felt for the mouth, so i know the mouth wont last long due to oils from hand/sweat. Do you recomend anything i could put over my hand? I know i could obviously just use a glove but i didnt know if there was something out there specifically for puppets. Thanks Adam!
This is what they do on Sesame Street, right? I remember a muppet central user named 'WasOneErnie' said all Sesame Street characters for the finale of the Muppet Movie had almost zombie-ish light blue eyes.
Now when I think about it, I remember reading on Muppet wiki that Originally on Sesame Street, the Muppets' eyes were a shade of blue, which would appear white on camera

Enjoy the videos. Inspired me to get making. Are you using flat, satin or gloss white?
I use whatever I can get my hands on. But my preference is definitely flat.

What are you casting with and what is the mold made of?

I haven’t. I would want the eyes to have actual texture. Just implied texture from the stifling of the paint.
What about hand painting? (Not with spray paint?)
Yup. That works.
hey adam I got my ping pong balls for my puppets eyes n would love to paint them. got any recommendations for regular paint?
Any brand of normal spray paint would work.
@@PuppetNerd thanks Adam for the tip.

Hey! I airbrush too! I used to do portraits. I find the airbrush is too fine if a spray though. I really like the effect of the spray paint.
@@PuppetNerd you do portrait work..thats great I do so,too..🤓✌

I know a lot of puppeteers that use a drummers glove.
Hey Adam, could you show a tutorial on building eyes that look from side to side?
Coming soon! I think this summer.
Hi I think you should do more mechanisim vids
They are coming!
I like that I got an ad for eye medication on this video.

Do all pupils need to be black?
no
@@andrewcauthen5537 thanks! I've just always wondered why they were on most puppets
You can use whatever you want. But for most living creatures, they are black.
@@PuppetNerd Thank you!

Hi adam
Hey!
Dear Adam, make please a Miss piggy Puppet!!!!😆🧐pleeeeeease! 🐽
Sorry. I don’t make replicas.
