Near and dear. I just completed a "re-install" of my A/C after car purchase 3 years ago. The prior owner had removed (but retained) all the ancillary parts however not the air-box or evaporator. I purchased new lines, compressor, dryer, and modern in-line screen for 134a. Properly flushed both the condenser and evaporator, installed all the new parts back on the car and had 6 oz oil / 2.5 lbs 134a installed by local shop, "wallah" A/C, very nice. T tops out windows up A/C set on Bi-Lev, and enjoy the sunshine. LOL

That really is living the dream! The cold AC completely changes how I drive in the summer, no more baking like a hot potato!

It sure was, I'm happy to say that it worked out in the end (spoilers). These cars just get so hot!

I was really hoping I could find a kit to go into mine ;-;. I got my 3rd gen from what is basically the graveyard for the cars at my schools shop, and Its pretty much got nothing mechanical in it, I really want to get a motor in asap, but I figured it would be smarter to get the brakes, ac, and ecu/wiring set up first (after I patch all the holes and repaint the chassis T-T). Finding your video is extremely useful though! I'll definitely check out your channel :>

I wish you the best of luck with your build! These are really fun cars and I'm sure it will be worth it when it finally hits the road!

I have a 1984 Camaro that had all of the ac parts out of the engine bay removed by the previous owner and now I'm on a quest to add ac back to the car.

What a shame! Luckily the hardest part is actually finding the parts. It'll be worth it in the end I promise you that!

Is there a vin code behind the heater box? In search of a place to do a pencil trace that doesnt involve removing the windshield?
